Job Title: Operations Project Coordinator

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Roles and Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Implementation:

• Coordinate operational aspects of projects affecting terminal operations, infrastructure, equipment deployment, or systems
• Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure timely execution
• Support project planning, implementation, testing, and operational rollout
• Ensure that operational requirements are clearly defined and integrated into project plans.

Operations Representation in Projects:

• Act as the Operations Department’s lead representative on the full spectrum of projects with operational impact
• Provide operational insights and recommendations during project design and implementation phases
• Ensure projects align with operational workflows, safety requirements, and productivity goals
• Represent operational interests during cross-functional project meetings.

Stakeholder Coordination:

• Liaise with internal teams including Planning, Yard Operations, Ship-side Operations and other Departments
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants where projects involve operational components
• Facilitate communication between project teams and operational units.

Process Improvement & Optimization:

• Evaluate potential operational impact of proposed projects and initiatives
• Identify risks to ongoing operations and propose mitigation measures
• Support operational readiness for new infrastructure, equipment, or systems introduced through projects
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements through projects and initiatives
• Support implementation of process optimization initiatives within terminal operations
• Monitor post-project operational performance and recommend adjustments where necessary.

Monitoring & Reporting:

• Maintain project documentation, action trackers, and status reports
• Provide regular updates to Operations Management on project progress and operational implications
• Track operational KPIs affected by project implementation
• Support operational testing of new systems, equipment, or processes
• Coordinate operational training and handover during project implementation
• Ensure smooth transition from project implementation to operational integration.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform other operations-related coordination tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

Minimum Educational Qualifications / Certifications / Years of Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
• Minimum of 5 years experience in port/terminal operations, logistics, or operational project coordination.
• Project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.

Job Title: Dispatcher

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Job Description

• The Dispatcher is responsible for the centralized deployment, monitoring, and control of all Cargo Handling Equipment (CHE), including distributions of containers planned for loading on vessels across the terminal during assigned shifts.
• The role functions as a real-time coordination hub, working closely with Yard Coordinators, Marine & Vessel Coordinators, Equipment Control, and Plant teams toensure optimal equipment allocatlon, minimal idle time, an seamless execution of vesse and yard operation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Equipment Deployment & Allocation:

• Take full responsibility for deployment and reallocation of all equipment per shift (RTGs, MHCs, Terminal Trucks, Reach Stackers, etc.)
• Ensure optimal distribution of equipment based on operational priorities (vessel, yard, gate)
• Continuously adjust equipment deployment in response to real-time operational demands
• Ensure quick replacement or redistribution of equipment in case of faults
• Ensure alignment between yard activities and vessel operations for seamless cargo flow

Monitoring & Control:

• Monitor live operations using Terminal Operating System (TOS) and Control Room systems
• Track equipment productivity, utilization, and movement across the terminal
• Identify idle equipment, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in real time
• Initiate immediate corrective actions to optimize operational performance

TOS Utilization & Data Integrity:

• Use TOS to monitor job execution, equipment allocation, and operational progress
• Support assignment and reassignment of jobs in coordination with the Control Room and Planning teams
• Ensure accuracy of operational data related to equipment deployment and movements
• Support the achievement of vessel productivity and yard performance targets

Communication & Reporting:

• Maintain real-time communication with all operational stakeholders
• Keep accurate records of deployment decisions, changes, and operational issues
• Support the preparation of shift reports on equipment utilization and operational performance

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager

Minimum Educational Qualifications / Certifications / Years of Experience

• Minimum of HND/Bachelor's degree in Maritime studies, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in terminal operations, dispatch, yard, or control room functions.
• Experience in equipment coordination is an advantage.

Skills and Competency Requirements:

• Knowledge of Cargo Handling Equipment operations and deployment logic
• Ability to interpret operational metrics (productivity, utilization, delays)
• Strong understanding of terminal operations (yard & vessel)
• Proficiency in Terminal Operating System (TOS).

Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Roles and Responsibilities
Shift Management:

• Oversees the field execution of terminal operations during assigned shifts.
• Ensures vessel operations are executed according to vessel plans.
• Monitors operations at the yard and examination to ensure all scheduled tasks are completed adequately.
• Ensures that equipment and manpower are available and correctly positioned to execute vessel and yard operations within assigned shifts
• Attends daily operations meetings to align on the status of work for the shift.

Operational Efficiency:

• Receives the discharge and loading plan from the planning section and prepare the vessel layout plan.
• Allocates yard ranges for imports and exports per vessel.
• Implements operational plans and procedures to enhance productivity.
• Structures and establish goals and procedures, set priorities, and efficiently direct daily tasks of teams with consideration to safety, efficiency, lean methodology, cost controls, and efficient utilization of equipment and labour.

Safety and Compliance:

• Enforces health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conducts regular safety inspections and audits.
• Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory laws and organizational policies.
• Ensures team members attend weekly safety toolbox meetings and adhere to safety rules and operations best practices.
• Ensures vessel operations team members are equipped with personal protective equipment.

Terminal Performance Monitoring:

• Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and reports on operational performance.
• Analyses data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Implements corrective actions to address performance gaps.
• Completes required documentation associated with operations in an accurate and timely manner.

Communication and Reporting:

• Maintains clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
• Prepares and submits shift reports detailing operational performance, incidents, and actions taken.
• Communicates vessel operations sequence and stevedoring requirements to subordinates.
• Shares reports with vessel owners regarding the status of the discharge and loading of the vessel at regular intervals.

Team Leadership:

• Supervises and supports shift supervisors and operational staff.

• Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the work of direct reports.
