  • Customer Strategy Execution: Drive the MTN Nigeria Contact Centre Operational Strategy

Mission

Description

  • Plan and implement reconciliation and control mechanisms for interconnect roaming and VAS revenue recognition and reconciliation. Budget and forecast carrier revenue and related cost figures.
  • Ensure accurate billing of wholesale call records for the optimization of MTN’s carrier revenue elements.
  • Review inter-carrier (Interconnect, Roaming and value-added services) agreements, billing, reconciliation and payments.
  • Evaluate and review existing carrier agreements and commercial rates, implementation and testing on billing systems.

Requirements
Education:

  • A First Degree in any discipline, but a Finance and Management related Degree is desirable.

Experience:
3 - 7 years’ experience in an area of specialization, with experience in supervising others

  • Plan and execute medium to long term projects to enhance revenue assurance operations and identify new revenue opportunities, ensuring compliance with corporate governance procedures and RA strategies.
  • Develop and implement strategies that meet MTNN’s financing needs while supporting achievement of financial objectives, including minimisation of interest expense.
  • Coordinate all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, government requirements and operating forecasts as well as the evolution of GSM
  • Support the development and maintenance of system projects to support and manage cash flow on a global basis, and to improve available cash flow and banking information.
  • Ensure balance between cash holdings required by operating divisions.
  • Monitor insurance and risk management, prompt payment of premium and management of premium paid, ensuring that adequate and cost-efficient risk management programs (Insurance & Credit) are adopted
  • Provide a variety of ad hoc analysis and various iterations of financial modelling for methods of potential acquisitions or other ventures, raising funds at optimum rates as required by the business from sources available.

  • Lead negotiations on all Funding projects, ensure attainment of best-in-class rates and debt structures
  • Advise on viable Corporate Credit Framework(s) across relevant business divisions to drive incremental sales
  • Manage the regulatory and financial projects approvals of Company’s activities with regards to Exchange controls with the CBN and the NCC
  • Establish processes that support the identification of financial risks and exposure as well as the execution of appropriate foreign exchange and interest rate hedging decisions and ensure compliance to same
  • Drive the development and implementation of credit risk management framework as it relates to Strategic Business Division
  • Ensure that there is adequate insurance policy cover for all identifiable insurable risk and within the regulatory framework of NAICOM
  • Establish a framework that manages concentration and counter party risk with various financial instructions
  • Drive the automation of document management and archiving system for payment related source documents
  • Provide a variety of ad hoc analyses and various iterations of financial modelling methods for potential acquisitions or other ventures
  • Ensure timely settlement of third party obligations (i.e. suppliers, utilities, regulators, property and MTN Group)
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure flow of third party payment process and ensure the deployment of E-payment solution
  • Establish processes that support the identification of financial risks and exposure and the undertaking of appropriate foreign exchange and interest rate hedging decisions.
  • Manage balance sheet and financial structure to meet international efficiency norms and Group gearing strategy compliance, ensuring treasury decisions are based on most up to date data on market prices and external developments
  • Manage various activities related to the management of corporate cash, borrowings and investments, bank account structure, cash management and day to day banking relationships, ensuring compliance with MTF covenant and terms.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews of investment and foreign exchange policies, benchmarking policies with other companies.
  • Provide effective monitoring and assurance within a limited budget and initiate creative ways of delivering business intelligence on a continuous and timely basis.
  • Provide technical leadership /advice in the formulation and development of Treasury Revenue framework, policies/guidelines and ensure compliance of operations with MTN policies and procedures.
  • Lead and collaborate with other business units in the development of business models for use in MTNN and develop measurement strategies to support ongoing strategy development and project optimization.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and technology that may affect revenue assurance functions in MTNN and ensure revenue leakage is minimized.
  • Conceptualize and drive the implementation of an effective Corporate Treasury Framework.
  • Manage balance sheet / financial structure to meet international efficiency norms and Group gearing strategy compliance.
  • Influence the institution of and compliance to SLAs with MTNN’s selected financial service providers and partner institutions
  • Advise on periodic reviews and update of MTNN’s banking, investment and foreign exchange policies and SLAs; in line with relevant leading practices and benchmark standards
  • Oversee the efficient development and deployment of all Treasury and Banking policies across MTNN
  • Lead the implementation of Treasury Management Systems across MTNN, in line with Group Treasury specifications
  • Coordinate the activities and functions of the Company Credit committee to ensure that the company’s credit policy, collections and bad debts write offs across all revenue channels are in tandem with Board Approvals

Requirements
Education:

  • A First Degree in a Finance or Accounting related discipline
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA, ACT, MCT).
  • MBA is desirable
  • Affiliation to Corporate Treasury Association (ACT- UK or ACT-USA)
  • Fluent in English and language of country preferable

Experience:
Minimum  of12 years’ work experience including;

  • Senior management track record of 3 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/ industry as per relevant role
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise (understanding emerging markets advantageous)
  • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
  • At least 5 years treasury and/or finance experience with emphasis on foreign exchange and cash management in an international, multi-currency business environment in emerging markets.
  • Experience with debt instruments and investment management and cash forecasting. Experience with equity, hybrid or debt investments either at a corporation, investment bank, or accounting, law, tax, or investor relations firm preferred.
  • Capital markets and financial investment securities experience or similar
  • Experience in deal structuring, portfolio management, or stocks and options trade execution
  • Experience in raising funds on a project finance basis and corporate loan style
  • Experience in the use of risk management tools and techniques
  • Experience in interest rate swaps would be an added advantage.
