1.) Category Specialist (Technology)

Job Objective(s)

  • To support the Category Manager in ensuring that sourcing, tendering and prompt delivery of Technology portfolio (software, hardware, application development and managed services) in line with the Category Strategy
  • To manage sourcing activities for relevant category and support the implementation of Category Strategies.
  • To efficiently manage the Bank’s expenditure budget (CAPEX and OPEX) for category related procurement.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement Technology Category Management strategies and activities across multiple dimensions, including category analysis, contract implementation, and supplier relationship improvement initiatives to increase market competitiveness and sustain ongoing category improvements
  • Proactively work with Category Manager (Technology) to identify and plan category related procurement activities for the financial year and periodically review category spend to identify and pursue strategic sourcing and demand management opportunities
  • Execute Go-To-Market strategies utilizing an end-to-end value chain approach -specifically, obtain complete and accurate business requirements from the end users, develop RFx (RFI/RFQ/RFP) documents and identification of qualified vendors; manage source to contract until PO Is created
  • Collate responses from vendors and liase with the various committee (TEC, PMC) for evaluation
  • Ensure compliance to the Bank’s Procurement Policy, standards and guidelines for all category related products or services
  • Conduct vendor contract negotiations with suppliers to procure category related products/services to ensure best value regarding pricing and quality
  • Ensure adherence to defined parameters for quality assurance of goods/services received as well as the escalation route for complaints/rejection.
  • Prepare periodic report of trend analysis for procurement volumes and cycles to support the various category management activities
  • Proactively perform market surveys to verify competitiveness of purchase prices and best value goods specifications for procurement categories
  • Identify relevant external market trends with respect to the technology industry
  • Provide input for supplier appraisal via supplier audits, performance evaluations etc. to validate ability of suppliers to meet defined standards and rate suppliers accordingly
  • Collaborate with centralized admin for invoicing and payment of suppliers and resolve or escalate identified issues (if any)
  • Supervise and coach Category Analysts
  • Undertake any other responsibilities as requested by the Category Manager in accordance with the scope and responsibilities of the role
  • Comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Hand book of the Bank

Requirements
Education:

  • BSC. (First degree) Social Sciences.  Higher Degrees/Professional Certifications (an added advantage).
  • Minimum of CIPS Diploma or relevant certifications (CPIM, CPP, CSCP)

  • Supervise and manage the VISA Settlement Desks In line with stated processes and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervises the prompt and accurate settlement of all variants of the VISA Card (Classic, Gold, Premium and prepaid) across the different transaction types (Domestic &  International transactions) and across the available channels (ATM, POS and Web)
  • Oversees the timely and accurate treatment of all VISA Dispense errors, chargebacks, representments, cash disbursement reversal adjustments and refunds.
  • Manages the settlement of VISA First Pay link transactions.
  • Partner with Account monitoring and Investigating team in the review and resolution of reconciliation entries on Visa related accounts
  • Supervises timely upload of all  off cycle, annual and monthly credit card repayment as
  • Processing of upload files from other sections of the unit.
  • Manages the correct recognition of fees, charges and income for all VISA transactions.
  • Ensures prompt and accurate funding of offshore accounts.
  • Ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and enquiries on customers’ accounts and merchant settlements related to VISA transactions.
  • Monitor and close all SLAs emanating from VISA settlement activity.
  • Ensure proper and adequate stakeholders’ engagement as the need arises.
  • Ensures a database of VISA activity files are maintained and updated.
  • Review with the business and processing of VISA International monthly billing to the Bank (training costs, issuer fees, acquirer fees, etc.)

6.) Associate II, Corporate Finance & Capital Optimization

Job Title: Associate II, Corporate Finance & Capital Optimization

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promote policies, processes, and guidelines to enhance corporate finance, capital management, ratings, and investment activities of FirstBank group.
  • Execute inorganic growth plans (M&A, partnerships, etc.) of FirstBank group.
  • Prepare the valuation of investments opportunities as well as optimization of same for value accretive purposes.
  • Execute the end-to-end management of capital across all group entities, including ICAAP.

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in corporate finance, investment banking and capital management in Financial Services or related industry.
  • 6+ years of proven track record in Financial Analysis, Financial accounting and reporting.

7.) Legal Officer

  • Provides, under the guidance of the Team Lead, legal advisory services in respect of various contracts to SBUs, SRFs and the Bank’s subsidiaries with respect to structured finance, project finance, international trade, oil & gas financing, derivatives, telecommunications financing (operators, service providers and dealers) highlighting the Bank’s attendant obligations, privileges and rights and consequences of breach of such contracts.
  • Researches and prepares legal opinions on basic day-to-day issues bothering on the Unit’s activities.
  • Attending meetings with SBUs and other SRFs for purposes of negotiating terms and conditions of commercial transaction to be entered into by the Bank.
  • Prepares the drafts of all species of local and cross-border Bonds and Guarantees and vets/reviews drafts of same prepared by counterparties to ensure there are no adverse clauses and that the interest of the Bank is adequately protected and understudies the Team Lead and Guarantee Supervisors in the Department in the art of Bonds and Guarantee drafting and reviews.
  • Supports the Team Lead in the actualization of numerous product and service offerings, alliances, partnerships and other synergistic relationships created by the Products & Channels Unit.
  • Prepares, reviews and vets a wide range of documentation, including but not limited to letter of domiciliation,
    Indemnities, Irrevocable Remittance Undertakings, Irrevocable Standard Payment Orders, Letters of Comfort, Letters of Support, Letters of Intent, etc.
  • Prepare Loan Agreements, Corporate Guarantees, Sales & Collection Agreements, Letters of Hypothecation,
    Equipment Leases, Deeds of Release etc.
  • Conducts, analyzes, and interprets searches on Certificates of Registration/Incorporation of corporate entities.
  • Supports the Team Lead and Unit Head in the provision of general advisory services to the Bank’s subsidiaries.
  • Ensures compliance with the principles and policies contained in the Information Security Handbook.
  • Works with External Solicitors to verify genuineness of Letters of Administration and probate documents
  • Follows up on External Counsel on briefs assigned to them, including but not limited to the processes involved in the preparation and filing of legal pleadings, motions, etc
  • Ensures compliance with the principles and policies contained in the Business Continuity Management Handbook.
  • Assists the Team Lead and Unit Head in the Unit’s involvement in, and compliance with the Bank’s Information Security Management Policies, Business Continuity Management, BS25999, ISO 27001, and initiatives, internal audit outcomes and compliance with recommendations, ICAFAS, Business Performance Management, PSQA etc.

Job Requirements
Education:

  •  Minimum Education: First Degree in Law and Professional Certificate of Barrister at Law (compulsory).

Experience:

  • Minimum experience: At least two years post call, legal practice in chambers.
