1.) Short-Term Development Policy Analyst (E)

 

The Fisheries Commission is looking for qualified Ghanaians to perform Short-Term Consultancy Services as follows:

• Assist in the Review and Formulation of a new Fisheries Sector Development Policy Framework.
• Conduct Quantitative Fisheries Sector Growth Analysis and advise the Executive Director on Policy Options to be implemented to accelerate the development of the Sector.
• Assist in the development of a New Fisheries and Aquaculture Growth Model for the Transformation of the Fisheries Sector.
• Conduct periodic Research on Topical Fisheries and Aquaculture related issues that underpin the growth potentials of the sector.
• Train officers on Quantitative Policy Design, Analysis, Development Planning and Development Resource Allocation.
• Conduct research on the current untapped growth potentials of the Fisheries and Aquaculture sector, and advise the Executive Director on feasible growth inducing options to be taken.
• Assist the Commission to develop sector specific performance measurement (M&E) tools.

Qualification Required & Experience

• At least a Master's degree (from a recognised university) in (i) Economics (with sound background in Economic Policy Analysis, Development Modelling, Econometrics & Statistics), or (ii) Development Policy & Planning (with focus on Quantitative Policy Analysis, and Development Performance Measurement).
• Knowledge in Econometric & Quantitative Policy Analysis software is an advantage
• At least a minimum of to years working experience in Development Policy and Planning related fields in the Public Sector.

2.) Technical Field Extension Officer (B)

 

The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties:

• Assist in the collection and analysis of fisheries data for policy decision making.
• Provide technical information on aquaculture production to fish farmers.
• Train fish farmers on modem methods of Fish Farming to enhance their productivity.
• Assist in the development of a new Input-output model to guide aquaculture
• Assist in the enforcement of the Fisheries Laws and Regulations related to elimination of illegal fishing practices.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Higher National Diploma (HND) in Statistics or related discipline.
• At least 1 - 2 years working experience in related field.
• Computer literacy in MS Office is an advantage.

3.) Assistant Fisheries Manager (A)

 

The successful applicant will assist the Fisheries Manager to perform the following duties:

• Collect and collate fisheries data for evidence-based policy decision making and planning.
• carry out Fisheries Extension Services not limited to:
O pond construction (aquaculture)
O fish hatchery management (aquaculture)
O any other duties relating to Fisheries and Aquaculture development
• Collaborate with the Fish Health Unit on issues of fish disease management.
• Post-harvest fisheries reduction / management.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries Science, Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Agric, Economics, Biological Science or related discipline.
• At least 1 - 2 years working experience in fisheries related field.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage teams and interact effectively with stakeholders is an advantage.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work is an advantage.
• Computer literacy in MS Office will be required.

4.) Information Technology Manager (F)

 

The qualified applicant will perform the following duties:

• Oversee to the development and maintenance of appropriate platforms, systems, infrastructure and software for the
• Assist in the development and maintenance of IT database for the
• Ensure regular maintenance of network connectivity.
• Manage the Commission's website and update information.
• Train staff on relevant IT systems.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years working experience in Information Technology Systems.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work relating to publicity of the Commission.
• Computer literacy in MS Office and other software packages is an advantage.

5.) Assistant Accounts Officer (D)


 The successful applicant will perform the following duties/functions:


Duties and Functions

• Assist the Senior Accountant in the day-to•day general accounting
• Receive and process payments.
• Collect data for the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements.
• Make entries in the books of accounts and record information.
• Collect data for the preparation and review of sector budget and perform other accounting duties.

Qualification Required & Experience

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications:

• First Degree / HND from a recognized institution.
• Must have completed a one-year compulsory National Service.
• At least, three (3) years accounting working experience in a public or private
• Must be literate in the use of accounts software and Microsoft Office.

Duty Post: The successful applicant will work at Regional and District levels.

The qualified applicant will perform the following duties/functions:

• Facilitate meetings and produce reports.
• Perform general registry functions including safe keeping of confidential
• Assist in the digitisation of records and documents of the Commission.
• Draft memos for senior officers.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Higher National Diploma / Diploma in Business Administration or related field. A least 1 - 2 years post qualification relevant work experience in a reputable institution
• Computer literacy in MS Office and ability to digitise records and documents are basic requirements.
