1.) Travel Coordinator

Job Title: Travel Coordinator

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full time

Job Summary

  • Incumbent will coordinate all USG official travel in the U.S. Consulate Lagos District and track all USG employee movements. Based on contact and open-source reporting, the incumbent will make security recommendations concerning travel to the Consul General and the RSO for his/her final approval.

Duties

  • Incumbent will communicate and coordinate with U.S. Government employees on all official travel in Nigeria and more specifically the US Consulate Lagos District, in accordance with mission Travel Policy and all applicable U.S. Government guidelines and regulations.
  • Incumbent will stay up to date with current threats via daily contact with RSO or his/her delegate, RSOs of other foreign missions, NGOs, Nigerian police and open-source information (newspapers, internet, television). Incumbent will refer to information gathered from contacts and open source when submitting travel recommendations to RSO. Maintain a weekly travel publication to be disseminated to RSO and section heads.
  • Coordinate with the S/GSO to ensure that GOVs used in support of official travel meet RSO requirement and are available. Incumbent will provide timely security updates and advice to Motor Pool and travelers and will coordinate with RSO staff if travelers become stranded and/or are subject to threat.
  • Track and plot employee movement and their travel routes. Prepare annual statistics for the Travel Program in Lagos. As appropriate, coordinate travel that affects both Abuja and Lagos missions.
  • Fill in as RSO-OMS during staffing vacancies, performing basic administrative duties as required.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Two (2) years experience in an office environment is required.
  • Work experience in a clerical position is required, using the Microsoft Office Suite on a daily basis is required.
  • Frequent interaction with the public in person, in writing and via telephone is required.

Salary
USD $7,896 per year.

2.) HVAC Technician (NEC)

Job Summary

  • The U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the HVAC Technician (NEC/NCC) position in the Facility Management Office. The U.S. Mission in Nigeria supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA).

Duties

  • The incumbent reports directly to the Maintenance Team Lead/ Engineer Supervisor.
  • The job holder is employed as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to accomplish skilled maintenance and repair work at the journeyman HVAC technician level, to International Building Code (IBC) standards, throughout all facilities on the New Embassy Compound (NEC) to include office buildings, out buildings, ancillary structures, and residential owned/leased properties.

Qualifications and Evaluations

  • Completion of secondary school and vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in the HVAC field is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of journey-level experience in the installation, operations, repair, and maintenance of commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical refrigeration systems and operation, maintenance, or repair of 100-ton chillers or larger, and large air-handling units is required.
  • Limited Knowledge Written/Speaking/Reading of English is required.

3.) Safety Program Coordinator

  • Incumbent serves as the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO) assistant (Mid-level) with responsibility for assisting the POSHO and/or senior level POSHO Assistant in carrying out the day to day functions of the Office of Safety Health and Environmental Management (SHEM) and Office of Fire Protection (FIRE) programs at post as required by 15 FAM 900 and 15 FAM 800; assures that all Government owned and leased property in country meet the requirements of 15 FAM 253.5, 15 FAM 432, 15 FAM 840, and 15 FAM 950, as well as other related Departmental requirements which may exist.

  • Minimum two years post-secondary studies at the College/University level OR a two-year Vocational training in facilities management, environmental safety, construction, engineering, or architecture is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the maintenance or construction field performing repair work as a maintenance supervisor or team lead or in the field of occupational safety as a safety inspector or quality control assurance inspector is required.

Duties

  • This position, under the supervision of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Data Analytics Branch Chief, will provide technical expertise to improve HIV/AIDS prevention programs of CDC Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH).
  • The incumbent serves as lead for clinical program monitoring and evaluating progress in program implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention activities conducted by CDC Nigeria and the FMOH by applying both theoretical and practical knowledge of clinical medicine, statistics, social and behavioral science, evaluation strategies, and research methodology to the design and conduct of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities.
  • Incumbent will develop appropriate data management systems to monitor health objectives and indicators for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs.

Qualifications and Evaluations

  • MBBS (MD) or a terminal degree in one of the following disciplines: Public Health; Epidemiology; Computer Science, Behavioral Sciences, or Applied Mathematics/Medical Statistics is required.
  • The incumbent must have at least five (5) years’ experience with chronic infectious disease prevention or treatment programs at the local, state or international levels that entailed responsibility for monitoring and the evaluation of program activities.  Experience collaborating with host government leadership is required.
  • NYSC Certificate/Exclusion/Exemption is required.

Responsibilities

  • The Investigative Assistant (IA) assists in an array of sensitive and complex criminal investigations related to document fraud, human smuggling, trafficking in persons, and other criminal issues as directed by the Assistant Regional Security Officer- Investigator (ARSO-I).
  • The job holder provides investigative, analytical, and administrative support in the operation of the Diplomatic Security (DS) Overseas Criminal Investigations (OCI) program at post.
