1.) Technical Lead, Child Marriage in Humanitarian Settings

Job Title: Technical Lead, Child Marriage in Humanitarian Settings

Location: Nigeria

The Opportunity

  • We are seeking a senior level, dynamic Child Marriage in Humanitarian Settings Technical Lead to strengthen and expand Plan's Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPHA) programming around GBV, with a focus on adolescent girls, particularly on the issue of child marriage.
  • The Technical Lead will be responsible for a global initiative to scale-up programming targeting adolescents, with a special focus on child marriage, in collaboration with UNHCR.
  • You will be accountable for developing and disseminating global-level resources and tools in order to strengthen child protection programming to address child marriages in humanitarian settings and for driving a learning and development agenda to create more capacity strengthening opportunities for inter-agency staff to advance their professional development around child marriage, child and adolescent survivors of GBV and adolescent girls.
  • As the portfolio lead for child marriage in humanitarian settings, you will source and diversify funding opportunities for programming, advocacy and coordination related to this area and provide thought leadership on the research and policy agenda to plug gaps in evidence and knowledge that avoids duplication and remains relevant to country level programming.
  • The post-holder is expected to lead on external positioning of Plan International within the humanitarian coordination system and among UN agencies and donors to support the uptake and implementation of programming and advocacy to tackle GBV affecting adolescents, with focus on girls, particularly on the issue of child marriage.

2.) Fundraising Concept Lead

Job Title: Fundraising Concept Lead

Dimension of the Role

  • We are looking for an individual with strong project, team, and stakeholder management skills to lead a key component of the NextGen Initiative’s efforts to: Developing Plan’s future approach to its current core fundraising program, diversify and future-proof the portfolio through prototyping new concepts and scale proven alternatives.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the strategic development and project management of a global fundraising program concept, encompassing all aspects of enhancing the associated product, marketing and donor experience.
  • Manage the process from start to end, from research, discovery, concepting, prioritization, concept development execution, piloting, refinement and scaling ensuring Plan has the optimal tools, knowledge, partnerships, and capabilities to enhance donor satisfaction and revenue.
  • Work closely together with an external agency overseeing the working process and ensuring high quality deliverables are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Lead pilot initiatives, ensuring they are insights-driven and have mechanisms for feedback and refinement.
  • Engage and collaborate with potential pilot offices to gauge interest and secure participation.
  • Establish communication channels and working processes with pilot offices and manage stakeholder expectations. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, encouraging collaboration.
  • Drive process of continuous improvement to optimize concept and donor experience.
  • Establish clear KPIs, monitor performance and report on success and areas for improvement through optimization of approach and strategy

  • Network and represent Next Gen Sponsorship where relevant including reporting on portfolio advancements, identified risks and opportunities to Leadership and manage stakeholder engagement.

Requirements
Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Suitable University Degree within Business, Digital Marketing, Marketing, Innovation or equivalent experience
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in driving innovative and complex fundraising projects, preferably across several markets
  • Highly familiar and experience in executing cutting-edge fundraising techniques and strategies, including testing and refinement
  • Experience of leading change management processes
  • Deep understanding on how to track, monitor and evaluate data to create valuable insights that will support decision-making

  • The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the EU funded project; Building Resilient Education Systems project activities in Adamawa state in North Eastern Nigeria and Sokoto state in North Western Nigeria.

Requirements

  • We are looking for a candidate with a university degree or equivalent in Education, Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • The candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in Education in Emergencies or similar contexts.

  • Reporting to the Head of Reward, this post is required to support the delivery of Plan’s Total Reward philosophy by playing a key role in the implementation, embedding and continuous monitoring and evaluation of the Total Rewards project across all regions. This role also delivers on the day-to-day operations of the Reward function. The role holder will provide technical expertise in all areas of Reward.
  • As part of the Total Rewards team, the role will have global process oversight on areas of Reward to support the TR strategy and the execution of the Total Rewards Policy throughout the organisation. The role will also offer specialist technical advice where required and mentoring to the Regional P&C teams/ focal points in all areas of TR project implementation and ongoing embedding. 6.) Head of Humanitarian Programme

Job Title: Head of Humanitarian Programme

The opportunity

  • Plan International Nigeria aims to respond effectively, rapidly, and at significant scale to the core humanitarian needs of children and their families affected by the Boko Haram crisis in the North Eastern Nigeria. Specifically, Plan International Nigeria aims to minimize disruption to formal and non-formal education systems and to restore formal education services; strengthen the proactive environment for children and their families including age and gender-appropriate services during and after disasters; create opportunities for and build capacity of young people affected by the armed conflict to generate income and to improve their life skills; and to become recognized actor in both in linking related community based interventions to national coordination and interagency mechanisms where Plan International Nigeria will gradually take on leadership functions.
  • Therefore, the Head of Humanitarian Programme is responsible for the quality and effectiveness of Plan International Nigeria humanitarian Programme. Overseeing the development and implementation of the humanitarian programme Plan (incl. project implementation of different projects with different institutional donors and National Offices), maintaining the emergency master budget, ensure the regular development of Sitreps, representing the organisation at various clusters, working groups and towards external as well as internal (i.e Regional Office, IH, Lake Chad Basin Unit) humanitarian actors, being the overall line manager for the whole emergency response team which is spread across three locations (Abuja, Maiduguri and Mubi).

Requirements

  • We are seeking a graduate in any Social Studies discipline; International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, Public Health, Development Studies, Emergency Management, Human Rights.
  • A post-graduate degree (Master’s) is preferred.
  • The candidate should have at least 7 years’ experience working in the sector, including humanitarian aid in complex and natural disaster as well as possess high level of all aspects of leadership and managerial experience, including managing multi-million Naira budgets.
  • S/he should possess proven experience in complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team under difficult circumstances as well as demonstrate the highest level of expertise in representation and negotiation with governments and donors.
  • Additionally, the candidate should have a strong understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context, including Sphere, the humanitarian system, donors, security, civil military liaison and program management.
