Job Summary

• We are looking for an experienced and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our steel plant maintenance team in Ikorodu.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components and machinery to ensure smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and equipment according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, conveyors, and production machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective maintenance.
• Align and adjust components to ensure proper functioning.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and efficiently.
• Assist in overhauls, modifications, and upgrades of plant machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report faults to supervisors.
• Adhere to plant safety policies and use appropriate PPE at all times.
• Work closely with the engineering and production teams to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• OND, Technical Diploma, or relevant trade certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a mechanical fitter in an industrial or steel manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical fitness and stamina for heavy-duty work.
• Resides in or around Ikorodu or willing to relocate.
