1.) Scheduler

Job Title: Scheduler

Location: Lagos
Status: Contract
Contract Type - Indefinite Contract
Pay Band: BRC-4-F

Role Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to support planning and tracking exams capacity requirements against demand from 18 months out on a 12-month rolling basis down to handover to Operations Managers for Resource Management and Test Day delivery.
  • The role will translate demand into capacity/resource requirements for venues, people, and test materials to fully optimise operations and margins while maintaining service levels, maximising agility, and ensuring contingency.
  • It will also monitor and review changes to plan reporting on requirements to fill capacity, effectiveness of Planning and cost to serve.
  • This role will work across functions in country to ensure counterparts understand requirements and execute to plan on Test Day.

Main Accountabilities
Nnot limited to the following:

  • Executes capacity management plans.
  • Supports Operations Planning Manager to collaborate with Commercial function for demand planning purposes
  • Monitors rolling 18-month plan and makes appropriate changes to plans.
  • Keeps Operations teams up to date on any changes.
  • Provides support on Distribution and Schools exams with regards to registration requirements and post-test sales invoices
  • Provides support to Operations Planning Manager on planning future changes to delivery profiles
  • Contingency planning and risk management of supply.
  • Adheres to set standards and performance manage Exam security and compliance
  • Manages daily/weekly planning/capacity meetings
  • Support creating regular reports on range of standard, corporate financial processes and procedures to enable effective budget and resource management for the team, unit or project(s) – e.g. purchase order system, FABS, SAP, procurement processes.
  • Plans and prioritises own work activities, which span across a range of different work streams, responding to changing and at times competing requirements to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities over a weekly/monthly time horizon.

Role specific knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of translating demand requirements to ensure capacity can be met to deliver operationally within a large business
  • Experience in third party/Vendor relationship management
  • Relevant experience of identifying suppliers in a business environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working across a dispersed team within a single country.
  • Experience in allocation and scheduling duties for a large team
  • University degree in any subject or relevant qualification.

Salary
NGN7,363,086.00 per annum plus benefits.

2.) Operations Planning Manager

Job Title: Operations Planning Manager

Location: Lagos
Status: Contract
Contract Type - Indefinite Contract
Pay Band - BRC-6-F

Role Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to plan and track exams capacity requirements against demand from 18 months out on a 12-month rolling basis down to handover to Operations Managers for Resource Management and Test Day delivery.
  • The Operations planning Manager will translate demand into capacity/resource requirements for venues, people, and test materials to fully optimise operations and margins while maintaining service levels, maximising agility, and ensuring contingency.
  • It will also manage, monitor, and review changes to plan reporting on requirements to fill capacity, effectiveness of Planning and cost to serve.
  • This role will be required to manage external relationships like exam venue providers and vendor relationship, he/she will also undertake venue scouting and contract negotiations.
  • This role will also manage internal relationship management and other country relationships and ensure internal counterparts across functions understand requirements and execute to plan on Test Day.

Main Accountabilities
Not limited to the following:

  • Plan to optimise available physical and operational resources given demand
  • Capacity Management - manages relationship with Commercial for Demand and capacity fill
  • Takes end-to-end accountability for researching and obtaining satisfactory and timely resolution of complex/escalated customer (internal or external) operational  complaints and issues, coordinating input from other colleagues/departments/managers as required, to do so, in relation to venue and demand management.
  • Ensures the customer is kept informed throughout the process.
  • Works with Head of Operations and Commercial Manager on planning future changes to delivery profiles
  • Manage relationship with exam venues, event venue landlords, negotiate contracts and manage onboarding on the SAP.
  • Contingency planning and risk management of supply.
  • Manages daily/weekly planning/capacity meetings
  • Operates and runs regular reports on range of standard, corporate financial processes and procedures to enable effective budget and resource management for the team, unit or project(s) - e.g. purchase order system, FABS, SAP, procurement processes.
  • Plans and prioritises cluster's operational activities and supports team knowledge and skills development towards effective delivery of services.

Role specific knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of translating demand requirements to ensure capacity can be met to deliver operationally within a large business.
  •  Experience of working in a high volume, busy operational environment, delivering to standard.

Minimum Requirements

  • University Degree in any subject or relevant qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience of supporting on delivery of computer based and/or paper-based exams.
  • Experience managing small teams or demonstrating management potential of team in dispersed locations.
  • Experience in third party relationship management.

Language requirements:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

3.) Test Day and Logistics Coordinator

Job Title: Test Day and Logistics Coordinator

Location: Kano
Contract Type: Locally Engaged

Role Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to ensure effective and efficient delivery of Exams within a specified location, which includes to manage Venue Supervisor engagement, relationship, and performance.
  • To co-ordinate and manage any risk or issue resolution, including co-ordination of customer (candidate) communication directly or through customer whilst also ensuring the safe handling in accordance with compliance standards, of confidential materials during the multiple exchanges in country/location.
  • This includes movement and activities related to the primary storage area known as the Confidential Materials Room (CMR).

Main Accountabilities

  • Undertakes the related planning and delivery functions in preparation for Test Days in line with BC processes.
  • Receives and responds to enquiries from/to customers and may be a specific point of reference on queries relating to an area of nominated expertise or responsibility.  Identifies where more complex issues require resolution by others and refers them on accordingly.
  • Carries out instructions and requests from Operations Manager and CMR & Logistics Manager efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensures adherence to CMR standards and management as set forth and carry out frequent random checks to proactively prevent issues from arising.
  • Manages courier SLA/performance standards and builds relationship with courier service provider in country, proactively seeking out and updating courier panel so that quality of services and cost elements are in accordance standards.
  • Plans and prioritises own work activities, which span across a range of different work streams, responding to changing and at times competing requirements to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities over a weekly/monthly time horizon.

4.) Finance Analyst

Job Title: Finance Analyst

Role Purpose

  • At an unprecedented time of change globally, the British Council seeks an experienced Finance Analyst to support the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) specialism within the Finance Function in Nigeria.
  • The role will support the Financial Planning and Analysis Lead in providing professional guidance in Financial Planning and Analysis, supporting country Business Development Managers and programme / operational delivery managers, and providing assurance on the underlying business financial performance.
  • The post holder will support the analyses and interpretation of short-term and long-term financial and operational plans through management information reporting, analysis and review of financial trends, and impact assessment to support and enable informed business decisions.

Main Accountabilities
Main Accountabilities but not limited to the following:

Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Support the planning process for Nigeria operations, challenging submissions and identifying synergies and ensuring delivery to deadlines.
  • Provide clear summaries of Nigeria operations planning / forecasting information.
  • Support FP&A Lead in the planning and rolling re-forecasting processes to ensure that information obtained from these processes is complete and reliable.
  • Ensure plan and forecast data by the businesses are in line with approved guidelines and assumptions.
  • Support the FP&A Lead in developing reporting procedures and templates for regional and local use.

Management Reporting:

  • Provide clear, accurate and timely information on business performance against targets according to the reporting timetable and as otherwise directed.
  • Manage Nigeria operations management reporting for consolidation at Regional level for SBU leads and Executive Board.

Business Performance Management:

  • Participate in the reviews of financial performance with FP&A Lead and business leads by providing scenario analysis and financial support to forward planning decisions.
  • Monitor cost allocation accuracy.
  • Assist individual managers in solving data hygiene / SAP issues.
  • Deliver outputs within corporate and regional timelines as requested by FP&A Lead.

Financial Analysis:

  • Advise on specific business / operational financial issues around efficiency, product and business trends and KPIs.
  • Ad hoc analysis as requested for business insights (internal and external) leveraging relevant tools and applications to produce complete, timely, and accurate results.
  • Support preparation of financial papers (ratios, economic indices, subsidiaries budget performance, product analysis, trends and insights, etc.) for the Board of the subsidiaries, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive value-adding analysis for insight and business decisions.
  • Development of tools to aid efficiency of data analysis and reporting.
  • Spool and analyse internal and external data to improve financial performance.

Regional and Functional Team Working:

  • Coach and support individuals and teams.
  • Ensure capacity building for members of the team.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Role Specific Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience with proven experience in similar role
  • Proven experience in data analysis and visualisation in line with best practice (practical knowledge of Microsoft Power BI required)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • ERP systems experience (transaction level and reporting
  • Delivery of results within a complex international structure and reporting to tight deadlines.
  • Working in virtual teams.
  • Able to relay complex financial information in an easy-to-understand way to support non-financial managers to deliver against financial performance indicators.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with a Big 4 audit firm
  • Master’s Degree
  • CFA, CGMA, CIMA.
  • Experience in the use of a wide range of analytics, planning, reporting, and visualisation tools/applications
  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience delivering and supporting the implementation of stringent FP&A requirements to multi-disciplinary internal staff and external partners.
  • Direct experience of applying FP&A procedures within complex and high-risk operating environments to meet challenging contractual standards.
  • Demonstrable experience of thinking creatively to design / redesign business processes to make measurable step-change efficiency gains in collaboration with relevant manager/team lead.

Travel:

  • Some travel may be required but is not expected to be significant.

Language Requirements:

  • Strong written and oral English communication skills.

Remuneration
