1.) Program Coordinator

 

Accountabilities

• This section is critical for clarifying expectations of the role, providing the framework for its relationship with colleagues and providing areas of accountability against which performance can be managed.

Programs and Projects:

• Develops and maintains good professional relations with key actors including governmental and other partners at the community, district and regional levels, organizations/institutions intervening in the development process to ensure effective stakeholder involvement and PIIA;
• Facilitates building of partnership, networks, coalitions and alliances with other stakeholders at all levels to increase program effectiveness and maintaining a well-coordinated, strong partnerships/team for successful project/programme implementation
• Facilitate the gathering of relevant information, data and development of project strategies for the development of PIG’s relevant SPAD/FAD for implementation and be responsible for the creation of project/programme outlines in the relevant systems
• Facilitate the planning, design, implementation and Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Sharing (MELS) of projects/programmes with stakeholders and using the appropriate corporate systems (PMERL) to capture such projects/programmes
• Ensuring that that there are adequate resources/tools/logistics and materials to execute projects and programmes funded by PIG
• Ensure the effective mobilization, consultation and involvement of stakeholders, beneficiaries, communities for the effective delivery of project activities
• Ensuring up-to-date comprehensive documentation of project/programmes and presenting comprehensive reports for management/donor among others and ensuring that all documentations and reports are appropriately captures in Plan International’s inc corporate systems
• Maintaining and monitoring project/programme plans, schedules, budgets and expenditures and using the appropriate corporate systems to track and report on all these indicators.
• Facilitate annual review meetings and other relevant project/programme meetings with all relevant stakeholders
• Ensure that PIG becomes the most recognized voice for all child rights related issues (especially girls) and mainstreamed all Plan International Inc values in all engagements and work.
• Represent the Program Impact and Influencing Area (PIIA) on relevant regional/municipal/District/community level committees, in meetings, and through other relevant platforms in the region/Districts and act as the link between Plan International PIIA and relevant units at all levels.






Qualification Required & Experience

• At least, First Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Development Studies or its equivalent.
• At least 3 to 5 years experience in frontline role in development work.
• Experience in the NGO sector preferably with child-related development issues, would be an advantage.

2.) Admin Assistant - Southern Sector

 

Key relationships

• Keeps and maintains a high contact with external clients to foster and build a good working relationship with them on behalf of the organization and present a good image for the organization
• Maintains a high contact with all country office staff to ensure the free flow of information towards the implementation of work
• Maintains medium contact with staff from the program unit offices to offer back-up support services and information regarding administrative related issues

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

• This section details the skills, knowledge and expertise the postholder will be required to demonstrate in doing the job well.
• This should include clear levels of technical expertise and skills that support our work at national, international, and global level.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Diploma/HND in Secretary-ship, Management Studies or equivalent
• At least 2 years working experience in a similar position.
• Experience working with an international NGO would be an advantage

3.) Supply Chain Specialist-Southern PIIA

 

Key relationships

This section refers to people inside and/or outside of the organisation that the post-holder needs to have contact with, and why. This should include virtual presence.

• Keeps and maintain a high contact with contractors, service providers and suppliers for the provision of goods, material, equipment, utilities repairs and maintenance that would ensure Plan receives value for money.
• Maintains a high contact with all country office staff to receive and process requests for procurement related services.
• Maintains medium contact with staff in the program unit office to offer support, information, influence and or reasoning with regards to procurement related issues.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of academic qualification of Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Procurement.
• At least 4-6 years progressive work experience in a similar position in an INGO environment.
• A member of Procurement professional body such as CIPs, ISM, MGIPs etc is an added advantage
• Solid knowledge of Procurement systems and practices, policies and procedures
• Good understanding of donor rules and regulations is a plus
• Strong negotiation skills

4.) Local Fund Raising and Partnership Specialist

• High contact with, project teams and support staff at Country and field Office levels to support locally raised grants implementation and effective partnerships.
• Maintains medium contact with partners, Multilateral Companies and organisations operating in Ghana.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Development Studies/Social Sciences or related area
• Have at least 4-6 years working experience in a related field
• Has good understanding of contemporary resource mobilization and management in the Ghanaian and global context
• Experience in Gender, Advocacy and partnerships Development related issues.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Internet Software and Power Point)

5.) Gender Coordinator

 

Dimensions of Role:

• Financial measures or statistics relevant to post such as budget; list of direct and indirect reports

Area of Responsibility – Project districts

• Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position:
• “What” is done and “why”, but not “how”; include indicators for success
• Supports the Project Manager and all other project team members to integrate gender transformative actions in the design, management and monitoring of the SHOW project.
• Leads in the development and implementation of the project GE Strategy and actions on Unpaid care work, women and girls’ participation in decision making and the equitable distribution of household works between men and women and between boys and girls;
• Leads in developing all project audience specific trainings (project staff, partners, government and community stakeholders, health professionals, managers and frontline workers etc.), guidelines, resources and other collateral for the effective mainstreaming of GE in all activities;
• Leads in the implementation of all gender transformative actions aligned with project GE strategy.
• Ensures timely implementation of gender transformative activities in the project
• Conducts community visits to monitor the promotion of gender transformative actions in the SHOW project activities in the project districts to ensure quality supervision and monitoring, leading to improvement in programme delivery and submits reports of such visits

Qualification Required & Experience

• First degree in Social Sciences or related field, background in Gender Studies or a related field will be an asset;
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position in an international organization similar to Plan International;
• Demonstrable experience and technical skills of developing and implementing gender transformative and gender integrated strategies and programmes;

Ability to lead strategic planning, results based management and reporting

• Demonstrable experience in advocacy, especially around gender related issues;
• A thorough understanding of the Convention of the Rights of the Child, Convention for the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and other human rights instruments;
• A thorough understanding of the various tools and techniques for mainstreaming gender in a project cycle including gender analysis, programming, monitoring and evaluation;
• Knowledgeable in the overall gender and related landscape of Ghana including key issues, policies, programmes and activities;
• Knowledgeable in the relationship between gender and MNCH issues and on Unpaid Care Work divide and how they affect women and girls.

6.) Communications & Media Coordinator

 

Key relationships

• There is a medium contact with Plan partners working on sponsorship programs in reviewing sponsorship documents to ensure they meet the Sponsorship Book controls in place
• Maintains medium contact with staff in country and program unit offices in the soliciting their support for the implementation and compliance with sponsorship program activities informing, influencing, or reasoning.

Qualification Required & Experience

• University Degree in Journalism, Communication or equivalent experience
• At least 3 – 5 years of experience working in journalism, communications, media, or Public Relations
• Strong understanding of print, radio, television and online media
• Good photography and filming skills;
• Additional technical skills are desirable, including proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or photo-editing software and movie-editing software such as Adobe Premier
• Fluent written and spoken English
• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with or in collaboration with an NGO or UN agency, or equivalent, is preferred.
• Experience as a spokesperson
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Ability to operate effectively in stressful situations, including working overtime.
• Gender awareness and cultural sensitivity.
• Good time management and problem-solving skills.
• Works with trustworthiness and integrity and has a clear commitment to Plan International's values and principles

7.) Accounts Officer

 

Accountabilities

• This section is critical for clarifying expectations of the role, providing the framework for its relationship with colleagues and providing areas of accountability against which performance can be managed.
• This should include a series of brief statements that define the end results required. e.g. drive, contribute, identify, manage, responsible for, advise/coach, build, develop, provide, conduct, oversee, establish, participate etc.
• Statements should ideally be worded so that they will lead to thoughts of measurement. For example, it is better to state something like "achieve maintenance standards" than "undertake maintenance". The former leads to a measure against the maintenance standards.

Qualification Required & Experience

• University degree in Accounting or ICA Ghana Part 2 or ACCA Foundation (Level 2) or equivalent.
• At least 3 years experience in a similar role.

8.) Grants Accountant

• Has high contact with all country office and program unit finance staff also those staff working on grant projects to support smooth implementation of the finance and accounting functions
• Maintains medium contact with other staff from the program unit and country offices to offer support for compliance with finance and accounting procedures

Qualification Required & Experience

• University degree in Accounting and ICA Ghana Part 2 or ACCA Foundation (Level 2) or equivalent.
• At least 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Fair knowledge in grants and project management.
• Demonstrated behaviors needed by the postholder to successfully perform the role:
• Communicates clearly and effectively
• Ability to facilitate participative processes for all stakeholders for implementing grant projects
