1.) Technical Service Manager

Location: Calabar, Cross River

Job Description

We are recruiting for the role of a 'Technical Service Manager'. The ideal candidate will report to the General Manager, organize the technical services department and in particular, control resources and utilize assets at a level commensurate with profit targets.

Key Job Responsibilities

Formulate maintenance policy for the company and monitor the implementation
Develop periodic maintenance schedule for all terminal equipment and facilities
Supervise the activities of the maintenance teams and ensure that equipment and facilities are adequately maintained
Monitor and keep performance record of all terminal equipment
Ensure Plants and Equipment downtimes are minimized by carrying out proper preventive maintenance and repairs on plants and equipment
Determine adequate stocking level of spares for all equipment
Develop facilities maintenance schedule to ensure that the physical environment of the terminal is kept clean and neat at all times
Ensure that the facilities conform with prescribed environmental standards at all times
Prepare the departmental budget with a special focus on the Operations and Commercial strategies of the terminal
Ensure that all equipment maintenances are properly recorded with detailed costs allocation
Ensure that quality management requirements and ISO standards are met
Ensure that normal and preventive maintenance schedules are soundly entrenched within the department and corporate cultures of the company
Plan, forecast and place orders (through the Finance / Admin department) for spare parts and consumables with adequate provision for minimum inventory levels to ensure continuity of departmental operations
Plan and organize for the adequate supply of diesel for all equipment as well as the entire facilities and regularly monitor the diesel consumption of all equipment
Maintain a full record of each equipment history (plant data; year of purchase; dates of overhauling, refurbishments and regular maintenance, etc.)
Establish and maintain an organized department structure with detailed job descriptions for all personnel and work procedures / processes
Continually review, benchmark, plan and implement technical strategies to ensure that Terminals develop and grow profitably
Manages or participates in enterprise-wide or Technical Projects as directed by the General Manager

Job Specifications

Good University Degree / HND in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering or similar course
Minimum of 12– 14 years quality work experience; 5 of which must have been at senior management level in a similar role
Relevant professional accreditations / certifications
Working Knowledge of port and shipping industry is of critical advantage

2.) Human Resources Manager

Job Description

The ideal candidate will report to the General Manager, provide strategic direction and execution leadership for human resource management activities of the organization, manage corporate communications; maintain cordial relations with unions and the community.

Key Job Responsibilities

Development and execution of a viable Human Resource Strategy
Development and execution of Talent Management initiatives that confers on the organization a competitive advantage in its market consistent with best practice.
Leads the organization in effectively championing and institutionalizing organizational change initiatives e.g. ISO Quality Management
Leads the organization as effective business and strategic partners in providing innovative Human Resource solutions to staff and customers through meetings, e-mail and one on one interaction.
Lead the ongoing development of a professional and achievement-focused workforce and culture
Maintain cordial relations with all employees, labour unions and immediate community.
Ensure development and delivery of best practice people and culture strategies and programs that maximize the individual and organizational capability
Coordinate and champion effective reward management system by ensuring strategic linkage between affordable compensation and employee performance.
Ensure effective communication of the organisation's policies, procedures and information in a timely and clear manner across different media.

Job Specifications

Good University Degree
Minimum of 8 - 10 years quality HR work experience; 5 of which must have been at senior management level
Professional Certification is compulsory e.g. CIPMN, HRCI, SHRM, CIPD etc.
MBA/MSc Human Resource Management etc. are an added advantage
Extensive experience in providing strategic leadership and influencing and leading change in complex organizations
Working Knowledge of port and shipping industry is of critical advantage.

3.) General Manager

Location: Calabar, Cross River

Job Description

We are recruiting for the role of a 'General Manager'. The ideal candidate will report to the Group CEO and lead the Terminal Free Ports under the direction of the Board of Directors.

Key Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-day management of the operation in accordance with current legislation and the general policies/specific directions of the Board.
Enhance and facilitate the profitability of the Port, its public image and positive contribution to the economy of Nigeria.
Prompt execution of all resolutions and decisions of the Board of Directors
Develop, implement, monitor and report on the Performance Management System of Terminals.
Provide good Commercial and Business acumen leadership especially in the areas of port and shipping economics and management to explore opportunities for revenue generation, business growth and enhancing/promoting efficient and safe port operations
Oversee the efficient running of all the Divisions of the organization to ensure they are operating at a high standard, executing all their functions and roles, achieving their goals to ensure each Division and the Authority achieves its mandate;
Provides advice to the Board that reflects the analysis of a broad range of issues affecting port operation, management and development.
Demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of political, social and economic factors affecting the organization.
Builds and sustains relationships within the organization, the Board of Directors, NPA, port users and with a diverse range of external stakeholders
Drives a culture of achievement and commitment to achieving outcomes beyond expectations.
Drives activities that support organizational sustainability, operational efficiency and flexible resource management; engender a culture of accountability and transparency
Provides Leadership in enterprise-wide compliance to the statutory corporate governance and process compliance standards.

Job Specifications

Good University Degree
Minimum of 15 years of quality work experience; 5 of which must have been spent at Strategic Senior Management level in the Shipping/Port Industry
Professional qualification e.g. MSc/MBA Management is compulsory
Advanced knowledge of port operations and management.
Working Knowledge of all relevant International Port related regulation standards
Working Knowledge of port and shipping industry is of critical advantage.
