1.) Core Network Performance & Optimization
Job Title: Core Network Performance & Optimization

Job Description
- This is a vital position to support Network function to carry out quality and performance assurance of e2e core transport network.
- This person will be interacting with the Partners’ Teams very extensively and make use of all available Core Transport tools to ensure timely anomaly detection, escalation and follow through to resolution.
- The Key results will ensure top Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience to Airtel Customers.
Job Responsibilities
Managing Core Transport Media (Access and BB) Performance:
- Ensure all vendor network equipment’s on the network can interoperate with one another without anomaly.
- Monitor Link performance of all the Microwave links across the network to identify links running errors (SES, BBE etc.)
- Monitor Receive Signal Levels (RSL) of Links across the network to identify links with degraded RSLs (> 3dbm from design) for required optimization and correction.
- Perform routine (Proactive, Reactive) audits to highlight key performance & quality of service issue across MW links.
- Monitor and output weekly capacity utilization of MW links across the Network.
- Follow through with Tx planning, operation and deployment.
Packet Loss Management:
- Ensure reliable and efficient transmission of data packets across networks by Identifying, analyzing, and coordinating resolution of packet loss issues with concerned resolver team.
- (This is key to network quality and user experience assurance).
- Monitoring and troubleshooting: Continuously monitor network performance, identify packet loss issues, and troubleshoot problems using various tools and techniques.
- Root cause analysis: Investigate and determine the underlying causes of packet loss, including network congestion, hardware or software issues, and configuration problems.
- Escalation to issue owners and follow through to resolution.
IP/MPLS network Performance:
- Ensure availability of IPRAN routers for all vendors. Ensure IPRAN topology and routing is aligned with TX Planning.
- Monitor RX Levels of IPRAN Links and NNI interfaces across the network to identify links with poor RX levels (< design Threshold) for required optimization and error correction.
- Monitor and output weekly capacity utilization of IPRAN links and NNI interfaces across the Network.
- Identify and resolve congested links, input/Output Errors, Memory & CPU loads, CRC check, Temperature etc.
Manage Performance & Optimization of the Fiber network:
- Monitor performance of the Fiber network elements.
- Ensure all fiber primary and secondary routes are up by carrying out routine performance and availability checks on all the routes.
- Flag fiber segments with repeated failures to Operation team and Partners to improve uptime and link stability.
- Regular KPI quality review, audit, and demand of best practice in fiber management. Review/Identification of snags in new deployed fiber segments.
Capacity Utilization Monitoring:
- Ensure e2e network Capacity Utilization analysis and forecast for the Transport domain.
- Support in special event preparation and analysis to ensure capacity (e.g., Year end and festive period).
Educational & Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronics & Communication or any other Science and/or Engineering based field.
- Sound knowledge of traditional and contemporary Transmission of Mobile Network - Operations, Performance Management.
- Analytical and Presentation skills.
- Good understanding of Transport Network architecture interfaces and standards.
- Understanding of data traffic routing and addressing.
Required Experience & Skillset:
- Must have 5 - 7 years relevant experience in Performance Management of e2e Transport network domain.
