1.) Manager, Core Operations

Job Title: Manager, Core Operations

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of both Circuit Switching (CS) and Packet Switching across all Core network systems and provide high-level support functions on Core CS equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities
Tactical:

  • Assist the Head, Core and VAS Operations in communicating the unit’s direction and objectives to all staff.
  • Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to the team/ function’s activities.
  • Assist in continuously reviewing the unit’s activities, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved improvement initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.
  • Assist in identifying required resources, personnel and funding to achieve the unit/ function’s strategy.
  • Establish and manage service levels with key internal and external stakeholders.

Operational:

  • Ensure that technology road map for the network aligns with regulatory guidelines as well as future industry trends.
  • Effective tracking of key KPIs (CSR/ASR/PSR/LUSR/CSSR/etc.) and taking prompt preventive/corrective measures where needed
  • Oversee all project implementation with partners/vendors (HUAWEI, NOKIA, BICS, MontyMobile, LATRO, UTIMACO and others)
  • Manage the operation/maintenance of all ATCA core network systems (MSC/HSS/MGW/SBC/STP/SPS/ITSC/LIG/U2020)
  • Promptly implement all interconnects with local & international partners
  • Coordinate Software Upgrades, Patch installations on all cs core network nodes
  • Enforce resolution of all Trouble Tickets with the back-office team and VENDOR
  • Manage all CS core configuration database/parameter management
  • Coordinate all core redistribution of HW/SW resources across network nodes
  • Manage operational acceptance for new features/new nodes/new network products
  • Ensure regular redundancy/backup/restore activities across all cs core services
  • Enforce strict conduct of Quarterly audit of all cs core node configurations and ensure implementation of all relevant recommendations
  • Continuously review all cs core operations frameworks, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved improvement initiatives to ensure enhanced network performance.
  • Recommend and implement strict measures to control fraudulent and high usage activities of illegal inbound/outbound roamers on the network.
  • Manage the implementation of all SCCP signaling links for new roaming partners via International SCCP carriers
  • Manage the process of defining roaming network data as per the IR.21
  • Ensure optimal signaling/inter-working requirements between PLMNs/ Roaming partners
  • Co-ordinate the monitoring of SCCP link alarms and LU failures
  • Provide high-level coordination on roaming and interconnect faults
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head, Core and VAS Operations

Education and Experience

  • Assist in translating concepts and ideas into products and services, thus ensuring that approved concepts relating to consumer segments are converted to product design specifications and manage the end-to-end delivery of products and services.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop the product design specification for all approved concepts from Consumer Segments.

Job Title: Specialist, Business Support Systems (BSS) - SIM Reg

Job Summary

  • This role undertakes the operations of the relevant Business Support Systems (BSS) covering all environments; Production, Test and Disaster Recovery to ensure adequate maintenance, operation and improvement of the entire BSS components and related software stack to achieve the required quality of service and service levels.

7.) Specialist, Billing

Job Title: Specialist, Billing

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Billing and Charging Systems Specialist will ensure that all postpaid subscriber’s events are accurately aggregated, billed and summarized in line with specified service level agreements.
  • He/she is to ensure that all call data events are completely processed and analysed daily and ensure they are in trend, He/she is also to ensure that all clarifications/issues raised before, during and after every bill run is treated within agreed timelines.
  • The Billing & Charging systems specialist is required to support the charging systems and ensure 100% service and system uptime.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse daily call data records to ensure they are in trend, investigate, escalate and/or fix issues where they exist.
  • Work closely with Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management department to reconcile call data records and report exceptions or possible fraud for further investigation.
  • Conduct sample/test bill run between the 20th and 25th of the month, also work with the IT Testing and Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management teams to ensure validation is complete for approvals before the actual bill run is initiated.
  • Ensure that all participating call data events are well and completely processed at the end of each month.
  • Complete error CDR resolution and bucket management
  • Conduct actual bill run on the 1st day of the new month, give regular updates on progress to all stake holders till completion.
  • Ensure summarized bills are sent via SMS and email upon successful validation and approvals by Revenue Assurance and Fraud department.
  • Conduct post bill run analysis, generate reports required by all stakeholders and send within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor the generation of Age debt reports and ensure it is sent on or before the 7th day of the new month.
  • Resolution of all escalated Billing and Charging Systems issues (ticket and emails) with agreed service levels and give quality feedback.
  • Manage all Convergent Billing System (CBS) nodes handling rating, charging, billing, accounts receivables, dunning control and other related activities and ensure a pro-active working condition for both hardware and software.
  • Ensure proactive monitoring of the systems through available tools & key performance reports and make sure all alarms are treated on priority.
  • Ensure all business and system reports are accurately and duly generated for business decisions.
  • Ensure new software releases pass the quality test, are fit for purpose and deployed successfully.
