Job Title: Legal Counsel
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Job Purpose / Objective
- The job holder will be responsible for assisting with the provision of legal services to the Savannah Group companies, with the aim of increasing the quality, consistency and effectiveness of the advice that the Legal team gives to the Savannah Group companies and as directed by the Senior Legal Counsel.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection, maintenance and update of the team’s know-how resources and templates
- Assist with undertaking legal research on issues affecting the Group’s operations

3.) Senior Operator
Job Title: Senior Operator

- Provide technical insight with regards to various tax laws and the impact on the Company’s operations and ensure tax implications are proactively analysed to aid decision making.
- Develop and maintain healthy and productive relationships with banks and other funding sources to secure the most favourable terms for the business.
- Conduct risk assessments related to foreign exchange, interest rates, and commodity pricing.
- Proactively manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity management to ensure sufficient funds for operational needs.
- Develop strategies for optimizing working capital, including receivables and payables management.
- Champion the continuous review and update of finance and accounting policies and processes to reflect changes in business operations and ensure alignment with leading practices.
- Support the Head of Finance on achieving Finance objectives.

Job & Main Specifications (Education/Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Required Details)
- University Degree in Accounting or any Finance related discipline.
- Relevant postgraduate / professional qualification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc).
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a tax and treasury function, 5 of which must have been in a leadership role with an Oil and Gas company.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian tax law especially with regards to the Oil and Gas industry, tax management principles and practices and an appreciation of local and global contemporary tax legislation /emerging tax laws.
- Excellent relationship, interpersonal and communication skills. Able to build and leverage on strong relationship with the various tax authorities and banks to the benefit of the Company.
- In-depth understanding of capital planning, optimising financial resources and maintaining strong liquidity.
- Strong analytical, business acumen, leadership, negotiation and persuading skills.
- Results oriented with high level of attention to details.
- Strong business ethics and high level of integrity.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
