1.) Chief Security Officer
Job Title: Chief Security Officer
Location: Bukuru, Jos - Plateau
Purpose of the Job
- The purpose of the job is to ensure that the Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited [NESCO (Nigeria) Limited]’s staff, information, and assets/property have adequate protection that guarantees their optimal safety.
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for the provision and management of security services and the safety of the Corporation’s employees, customers, and property.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief Security Officer (CSO) shall be responsible to the Human resources and Administration Manager in the performance of his duties and shall be responsible, but not limited, for the following:
- Supervising, directing, evaluating and coordinating staff of the security Department and outsourced security personnel.
- Facilitating outsourcing of Security services and monitoring their performance.
- Supervision of operational activities of security outfits working for the company.
- Conducting periodic and unscheduled patrols of the Corporation’s premises.
- Advising Management on security and related issues, and ensuring that the Corporation’s Security Policy complies with Federal and State Laws and regulations
- Developing, reviewing and ensuring implementation of security plans & budgets, programmes, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Implementing and overseeing strategies to safeguard the Corporation and its assets, and assist in crisis management.
- Preparing security-related documents, reports, proposals, and tactical/strategic initiatives.
- Conducting and supervising investigations, investigating security incidences and attending to court cases whenever required.
- Working with the Legal/Compliance Team, or being independently responsible for ensuring compliance with Local, National and Global Regulations and Standards, including in areas like privacy, health and safety.
- Building a comprehensive security programme that includes physical safety and cyber security policies.
- Reviewing existing security measures and updating protocols are needed.
- Collaborating with the Health and Safety Department in risk assessment and mitigation.
- Training & advising security professionals and other members of staff in security rules, policies & procedures and other security issues.
- Working with Management to develop and implement an appropriate budget for security programmes.
- Fostering a culture of physical or digital security awareness by conducting training sessions and communicating with personnel.
- Evaluating, resolving and managing any physical or digital security incidents or breaches.
- Be able to develop and implement security and procedures, as well as train and manage security staff.
- Carrying out any other duties that may from time to time be assigned by the Human Resources & Administration Manager and Management.
Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security Studies, Criminology, Safety Management, Business Administration, Information Technology Systems, or a similar/related field from an accredited institution with a proven track record of experience in managing security outfits.
- The CSO candidate is expected to have had military, paramilitary or police training.
- Applicants must have at least fifteen (15) years of proven practical experience, out of which at least five (5) years must have been in managing security outfits at a senior management level, preferably not below the rank of captain or its equivalent. Those with experience in a reputable organisation in power utility/electricity supply industry/field will have an added advantage.
- Intending candidates must have and bring letters of recommendation from the last known Service Units, or the Service Secretary’s Certificate of Service.
- He/She must be between the ages of 40-55 years.
- Have proven ability to lead and manage security teams.
- Knowledge of security technologies and systems as well as state and federal security laws.
- Be skilled in Risk Management in order to protect the organization from potential threats.
- Have a strong understanding of the latest security threats and trends, and be able to identify potential risks and develop plans to mitigate such risks.
- Be able to plan for and execute a disaster recovery plan in order to minimize the damage caused by a disaster.
- Be able to follow security protocols and procedures in order to protect sensitive information and reduce risks.
- Be proactive in the approach to security, and be able to implement policies and procedures that will help prevent security incidents from occurring.
- Be able to network with other security professionals, and continuously train and educate oneself on new security threats and technologies.

2.) Revenue Protection Officer
Job Title: Revenue Protection Officer
Location: Bukuru, Jos - Plateau
Purpose of the Job
- The Revenue Protection Officer will head the Corporation’s Revenue Protection Unit and play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of the Corporation by preventing revenue loss through effective metering, monitoring, investigation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- The position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and interpersonal abilities to maintain accurate billing and uphold customer trust.
- The role requires fieldwork and occasional travel to various sites within the distribution network and regular interaction with customers, field technicians, and regulatory authorities.
- The Revenue Protection Officer will provide operational leadership and management of the Revenue protection Function to effectively support the Corporation to ensure optimized Revenue Collection through efficient Revenue protection Operations.
- This function will also ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources deployed in Revenue Collection Assurance.
- He/She will manage loss reduction initiatives and systems and ensure that thorough investigations are conducted in line with preventive and corrective loss reduction programs aimed at attaining high revenue collection efficiency and revenue assurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Revenue Protection Officer shall therefore be responsible for but not limited, for the following:
Continuous Improvement and Strategic & Business Planning:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue protection processes and minimize revenue losses.
- Provide operational leadership for effective implementation of Revenue Protection Operations based on annual business plans
- Lead in developing, evaluating and reviewing Revenue Protection strategies, systems and practices.
- Participate in assessing and recommending new Revenue Protection technologies to ensure that the Corporation adopts technologies that are suitable and friendly to both our environment and economy.
- Participate in projects aimed at improving metering infrastructure and technology to enhance accuracy and reliability.
- Mobilizing resources for planned Revenue Protection activities (MD & Non-MD).
- Ensure that there is a strategic fit between the annual work plans and budget.
- Ensuring compliance with regulation and market procedures in relation to Revenue Protection issues.
- Ensure adherence to best practices that will foster safety in all Revenue Protection Operations.
- Ensure effective implementation of Energy flow accounting techniques from Distribution take off points with Generation up to the customer.
Metering and Monitoring:
- Ensure targets set are met and even exceeded to achieve corporate goals.
- Ensure adequate metering at all levels
- Reviewing, approving, and coordinating monthly metering audit plans.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of metering equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Ensuring timely meter fault clearance in line with the Customer Services Charter.
- Planning and scheduling of meter testing in the laboratory.
- Monitoring meters on the network and provide availability report.
- Monitor energy consumption patterns to identify irregularities that may indicate meter tampering or theft.
- Analyse meter data and consumption trends to detect anomalies and discrepancies.
- Carrying out meter maintenance, overhauling, recalibration and programming for various customers.
- Testing CTs, VTs and MU and sealing meters.
Investigation and Detection:
- Carry out investigations on detected/suspected cases of electricity thefts or meter tampering discovered through meter audits to ensure preventive and corrective measures are put in place.
- Carrying out door to door investigations on sampled customers to reinforce revenue assurance.
- Investigating issues of over consumption, low consumption and performing load analysis to come up with the correct bill for the customer.
- Coordinate with field technicians and law enforcement agencies to gather evidence, document and build cases against offenders. and providing witness in a court of law.
- Carrying out disconnections on customers found with offences.
- Implement surveillance and monitoring techniques to identify areas with high incidences of theft.
- Elimination of energy theft of all kinds.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Effective Energy accounting: Energy Delivered =Energy Billed
- Compile and analyse data related to energy consumption, meter readings, and revenue collection.
- Prepare reports detailing findings, including the extent of revenue losses due to theft or inaccuracies.
- Present findings to Management and recommend strategies to mitigate revenue loss.
Collaboration and Training:
- Collaborate with other Departments such as Distribution/Services, Customer Service, Legal, and Finance to ensure coordinated efforts in revenue protection.
- Provide training to field staff and contractors on detecting and reporting instances of theft or meter tampering.
- Educate customers on the importance of accurate meter readings and the consequences of electricity theft.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Enforce safety measures to prevent accidents of any type.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements related to metering, billing, and revenue protection.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in revenue protection and metering.
Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering/Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or Marketing from an accredited institution or related field.
- Applicants must have at least ten (10) years’ post-qualifying practical experience in an electricity supply industry/field, out of which at least five (5) years should be in revenue protection, metering, or energy auditing in a busy electricity distribution, retail and sale environment.
- Relevant Professional Body Membership
- Knowledge and understanding of electricity distribution systems, metering technologies, and regulatory requirements.

3.) Commercial Manager
Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location: Bukuru, Jos - Plateau
Purpose of the Job
- To oversee the support of Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited [NESCO (Nigeria) Limited]’s corporate goals by designing and promoting new products and services that will support corporate and business goals such as sales, customer connections, revenue collection, efficient & effective billing, and customer service and to achieve growth through efficient marketing strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Commercial Manager shall therefore be responsible, but not limited, for the following:
- Developing and launching new products and services and carrying out sensitization campaigns for both internal and external customer consultants so that all are familiar with the product.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of existing and new products
- Negotiating contracts with third (3rd) Party service providers; seeking approvals by Management, and facilitating the signing of agreements/contracts.
- Negotiating with large investors on issues such as; new connections, charges and conditions of supply and lead times.
- Handling large customer grievances/complaints on issues to do with policy, to ensure that swift actions are taken.
- Handling key customer service issues that involves key customers and bodies e.g., Chamber of Commerce, etc.
- Reviewing and recommending prices for new connections and tariff; that includes preparing proposals and recommendations for changes to pricing policies for Management approval.
- Carrying out efficient and effective metering operations.
- Identifying potential areas /technologies available, in line with policies that can be implemented to achieve demand-side management efficiencies.
- Developing a promotion plan, conduct promotion and engage in marketing for the demand side management and energy efficiency campaigns.
- Ensuring that Customers service and new products and services meet established standards.
- Developing, Managing and implementing efficient & effective billing and revenue collection strategies to ensure reduction of Aggregate Technical, Commercial and Collection (ATC&C) loss to electricity supply industry acceptable levels.
- Developing annual budget; monitoring its performance according to actions plans and targets for the Department.
- Participating in the strategy formulation of the whole corporation and providing inputs to assist come up with a road map for the corporation.
- Designing and formulating Divisional Business strategies and short- and long-term sales forecast in liaison with the rest of the Departments.

4.) Chief Operations Officer
Job Title: Chief Operations Officer
Location: Bukuru, Jos - Plateau
Purpose of the Job
- The purpose of the job is to ensure that the operations of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited [NESCO (Nigeria) Limited] are consistently efficient and effective; that there is proper management of resources, and distribution of services to its customers; and that continuous organisational supervision, monitoring and evaluation is conducted, led by the Departmental Heads. Programmes led by the Departmental Heads responsible for Generation, Distribution, Commercial & Customer Services, and Planning and Development shall be coordinated by the Chief Operations Officer (COO) to ensure synergy.
- He/She will also interact with the other Departments to ensure joined up working throughout the Corporation.
- Reporting to the Managing Director (MD)/Chief Executive (CEO) and working as a key member of the leadership team, the COO will provide key support to the MD/CEO and Management Team in setting and achieving the business and revenue targets of NESCO (Nigeria) Limited, actively participating in strategy and wider business development issues and seeking opportunities to maximise the potential of the Corporation.
- The COO will also take a leadership role in building, implementing, and overseeing all of the Corporation’s systems, processes, workflows, and procedures. He/She will also play a critical role in helping to shape and guide the future growth and development of the organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) shall therefore be responsible, but not limited, for the following:
- Be responsible for supporting the MD/CEO in focusing the establishment and optimization of day-to-day operations in the Corporation.
- Oversee the implementation of change management processes based on organizational performance metrics established by the Board of Directors.
- Be responsible for and lead in strategic planning and the developing, implementation, and executing/managing the Corporation’s operational strategic business plan (s) with particular emphasis on operational and organizational performance & efficiency through proper allocation of all resources required for business, including technology and people, to the impact areas.
- In collaboration with MD/CEO and in line with Corporations Strategic Plan, plan and coordinate financial and business planning, coordinate the development of organizational plans and budgets, execute the annual budget process as relevant to all operational and administrative aspects of the organization, and manage operational performance goals through the organizational Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for each Technical Department.
- Lead all tactical and strategic team meetings in conjunction with the MD/CEO and alone in the MD/CEO’s absence.
- Identify organization’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), develop project plans to achieve goals, and monitor organization’s performance.
- Own master project list and take the lead steering special projects and key initiatives, and assign special projects as needed.
- Advise the entire Management Team on key planning issues, coordinate project delivery and make recommendations on important business decisions.
- Manage the delivery of the Corporation’s Strategic Plan in the impact areas while ensuring linkages to and joined-up working with the Departments to meet overall delivery timelines.
- Drive forward new objectives and business programmes to ensure effective operation, management and control of defined areas of responsibility.
- Engineer and implement improved operational systems company-wide to ensure continuous improvement without killing innovation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation to enhance current business performance, drive operational and business strategy and encompass new technology, services and markets.
- Implement processes, infrastructure and effective management practices to enable and sustain the Corporation’s continual growth and expansion.
- Ensure that all Departmental Heads are fully informed of the operational objectives across the organization and monitor Departmental performance against goals to ensure that progress is being achieved.
- Establish, monitor and consolidate organizational performance reporting systems with regard to meeting the strategic objectives for regular reporting to Management and the Board of Directors.
- Improve service to NESCO (Nigeria) Limited’s customers and potential customers.
- Improve communications with the Corporation’s customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure that a proper system for long term load projections, demand side management, expansion planning, budgeting, revenue projections and cost reflective pricing is in place.
- Examine areas in the power system, plant and equipment, which cause power interruptions or inadequate delivery capacity and institute appropriate strategies and action plans to remedy the power interruptions and inadequate delivery capacity.
- Focus on staffing, infrastructure, resources and procedural weakness that may adversely affect service delivery and performance.
- Implement actions, practices and procedures on impact/priority bases to address the problems and initiate the process to reallocate resources to improve the situation.
- Develop and propose to Management a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and a process for selecting, developing, motivating and evaluating staff especially in technical areas.
- Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer from time to time.
Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or Economics, with a proven track record of managing strategic institutions of the size and complexity of power utility companies. Those with experience in power (or electricity) utility will have an added advantage.
- Applicants must have at least ten (10) years’ post-qualification practical experience, preferably in the electricity supply field/industry in a busy environment, out of which at least five (5) years should be at top/senior management level in a reputable organisation.
- Relevant Professional Body Membership.
- Knowledge of utility sector operations with the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) being an added advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of Electricity Generation, Distribution, Retail & Sale market.
- Knowledge & experience of business principles, operations and management.
- Knowledge of financial and management accounts.
- Qualified or possesses requisite experience in HR frameworks, financial management, marketing.
- Have strong management experience and strong business acumen with ability to see the big picture and plan out details.
