1.) Electrician

Job Title: Electrician

Position Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrician to support the maintenance and reliability of terminal electrical and automation systems.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical, electronic, and automation equipment across the terminal. This includes troubleshooting and repairing PLCs, drives, generators, motors, control systems, and field devices to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient terminal operations.
  • Working under the Electrical Foreman, the Electrician will ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory regulations, and LFT Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.
  • The role requires strong hands-on technical skills, a proactive troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.

Major Accountabilities

  • Ensure that the equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable working condition in accordance with the planned preventive or corrective maintenance program and to identify and rectify repetitive problems.
  • Maintain the PLC & hardware bypass record & plan to rectify them according to criticality level.
  • Troubleshoot and effect repairs on electrical and electronic circuits, digital drives and control systems, programmable logic controllers; and electrical component elements. This includes the modification of components and servicing techniques in conjunction with the Workshop Manager to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure that operating standards and precautionary measures are adhered to at all times.
  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance procedures for equipment on the terminal.
  • Receive and execute instructions and decisions from the Electrical Foreman.
  • Provide technical expertise and a positive attitude to the functions performed
  • Test equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Complete check and assignment sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the analysis/research of the performance of electrical systems/components and recommend modification where necessary to improve efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills and Abilities Required in Position:

  • Basic level in PLC & Drive system development & maintenance experience.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant mechanical/pneumatic/electronic engineering systems,which include internal combustion/diesel engines, power transmission hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical circuits, PLC and fault diagnostics system
  • Experience in all types of Port Equipment Maintenance.
  • Ability to generate high volumes of relevant work, sustain high levels of activity and energy over long hours when necessary and work with a business-like approach to daily changes.
  • The candidate must possess strong reasoning abilities and sound judgement.
  • Good reporting and registration capability.
  • The candidate must possess the ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • The ability to exercise good judgement is crucial for setting priorities.
  • Provide on-the-job guidance to new recruits.
  • Requires intermediate to advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, in addition to effective interpersonal skills.

Educational Qualification

  • A Diploma or ITI in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or other related fields) or equivalent work experience is required.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of working experience in the related field.

2.) Technical Planner

Position Summary

  • The Technical Planner (Container Terminal) is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure high availability, reliability, and safe operation of container terminal equipment.
  • The role develops and manages maintenance plans and work orders within the CMMS, ensures full planning readiness before execution, and supports shutdowns, overhauls, and special projects.
  • By analysing maintenance data and equipment performance, the Technical Planner drives improved reliability, optimised resource utilisation, and reduced breakdowns while ensuring compliance with HSE standards, terminal SOPs, and global best practices in container terminal maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop preventive and corrective maintenance plans for STS, RTG, MHC, TT, reefers, and utilities.
  • Plan weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules using CMMS.
  • Ensure all work orders are fully planned with manpower, materials, tools, and safety requirements.
  • Analyse CMMS data for MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, and breakdown trends.
  • Coordinate spare parts readiness with Stores and Procurement.
  • Support shutdowns, overhauls, and major projects with detailed plans.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and terminal SOPs.
  • Prepare maintenance planning KPIs and performance reports. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans for all terminal equipment, including STS, RTG, MHC, terminal tractors, trailers, reefer systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Plan and schedule daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance activities in coordination with Operations and Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Ensure 100% work order planning prior to execution, including scope definition, manpower estimation, spare parts, tools, and safety requirements.
  • Create, update, and manage work orders in CMMS, ensuring accuracy of job descriptions, estimated hours, materials, and priority levels.
  • Monitor maintenance execution and ensure planned vs actual performance analysis (man-hours, downtime, spare consumption).
  • Analyze breakdown history and CMMS data to identify repetitive failures, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Stores and Procurement to ensure availability of critical spares, minimum stock levels, and timely material readiness before job execution.
  • Support annual maintenance budget preparation by providing accurate planning data, forecasts, and historical analysis.
  • Optimize manpower utilization by aligning skill sets, shift coverage, and workload balancing.
  • Ensure all maintenance planning activities comply with LFT Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, SOPs, and risk assessments.
  • Support shutdowns, major overhauls, and special projects by preparing detailed maintenance plans, schedules, and resource loading.
  • Generate regular planning and performance reports (PM compliance, backlog, MTBF, MTTR, MMBF equipment availability).
  • Maintain proper documentation, records, and history in the CMMS for audit, warranty, and continuous improvement purposes.
  • Coordinate closely with Maintenance Supervisors to ensure seamless handover between shifts and minimal execution delays.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the Technical Department objectives.

3.) Operational Cost Controller

Job Title: Operational Cost Controller

Location: Ibeju Lekki, Lagos

Job Purpose

  • To monitor, analyse, and control operational costs within the container terminal, ensuring cost efficiency, budget adherence, and optimal utilisation of resources without compromising safety, service quality, or operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Monitoring & Control:

  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly operational costs across terminal activities (quay, yard, gate, equipment, and support services)
  • Monitor utility costs against approved operational budgets
  • Identify cost overruns, inefficiencies, and waste in terminal operations
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service standards.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Support preparation of annual operational budgets and cost forecasts
  • Provide variance analysis between actual costs and budgeted figures
  • Recommend and report on the implementation of corrective actions (preventive maintenance / utility consumption / etc.)
  • Assist in cost modelling for new projects, equipment, or process changes.

Operational Analysis & Reporting:

  • Challenge the data provided by the Operational departments
  • Analyse the cost per move (lift-on/lift-off), vessel call costs, yard productivity costs, and equipment utilisation.
  • Prepare detailed cost control reports for management review
  • Track unit costs for manpower, fuel, power, equipment maintenance, and consumables
  • Support management with data-driven decision-making.

Process Improvement & Efficiency:

  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Planning teams to improve productivity and reduce operational waste
  • Support the implementation of efficiency initiatives (lean operations and process optimisation).
  • Monitor impact of operational changes on cost performance
  • Promote cost-conscious culture across operational teams.

Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to approved procurement and cost authorization procedures
  • Support internal and external audits related to operational expenditure
  • Ensure cost records are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies
  • Enforce cost control guidelines across terminal operations.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Liaise with Operations, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, and HR on cost-related matters
  • Provide cost insights to terminal management and department heads
  • Support vendor and contractor cost evaluations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Utility cost (power & water consumption for operations & administrative buildings)
  • Cost per container move
  • Budget variance (%)
  • Operational cost reduction achieved
  • Accuracy and timeliness of cost reports

Qualifications & Experience

  • HND / BSc in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 3 – 6 years experience in cost control, operational finance, or terminal operations
  • Experience in port, logistics, maritime, or heavy industrial environment preferred
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, PMP – added advantage).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good understanding of terminal operations and cost drivers
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and Terminal Operating Systems (TOS)
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills

4.) Credit Control Officer

Job Title: Credit Control Officer

Job Purpose

  • To manage and monitor customer credit, ensure timely collection of outstanding debts, minimise bad debts, and maintain accurate credit records in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer accounts and ensure debts are collected within agreed credit terms
  • Prepare and issue invoices, statements of account, and payment reminders
  • Follow up on overdue payments through calls, emails, and formal letters
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies promptly
  • Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits
  • Maintain accurate records of credit transactions and collections
  • Prepare aging analysis and credit control reports for management
