1.) Brands & Consumer Research Manager

 

Job Summary

• The successful candidate for this role will join our Marketing Communication team as Brands & Consumer Research Manager in the Marketing Department.
• (S)He will report to the Head, Brand Management and will be responsible for the development of market research objectives to help the organisation achieve its strategic goals.
• The successful candidate will also analyze complex research requests to provide actionable recommendations to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Research market conditions and conduct feasibility studies to determine market demand for existing and new products or services.
• Research market and competitive pricing trends that impact the competitive positioning of the Company’s product offerings.
• Gather, analyze, and compare competitor data and pricing to that of the organization.
• Prepare reports, including charts and graphs, and present recommendations to management.
• Analyze complex research requests to provide actionable recommendations.
• Collect and analyze research data from surveys and other primary sources.
• Develop and assist in conducting surveys and focus groups to analyze customer purchasing patterns, preferences, and organizations image.
• Track marketing communication effectiveness and efficiency.
• Review proposals and recommend selection of thirdparty market research companies.
• Conduct spot checks on all field research projects (especially those conducted by thirdparty market research companies) to validate findings and ensure data integrity.
• Conduct regular reviews of all data sources and suppliers to ensure quality control.
• Monitor and control research budget within predetermined limits.
• Using inputs from overall datadriven leadership, drive strategic planning and operational direction for the entire business.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A university degree in any field but with emphasis on Business Studies, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
• A minimum of three (3) – Five (5) years of Market Research experience
• Strong command of primary, secondary, and quantitative methodologies and procedures
• Strong analytic skills with experience in statistical modelling and analysis
• Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and SPSS/SAS
• Technical knowledge of IT and communications products and services desired.
• Good project management background.

2.) Contract Manager

 

Job Summary

• The successful candidate will join our Technology Department as Contract Manager. (S)He will administer, support and manage contracts for the Companyâ??s technology spending on products and services across the organization.
• The successful candidate will own and facilitate contract renewals, ensure SLAs, rewards and penalty clauses of contracts are strictly adhered. The Contract Manager will also liaise with all Tower Companies to ensure contractual alignment and serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all contractual discussions between the Company and other vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop techniques and processes to help manage and administer contracts in a manner that best protects the Company’s interests;
• Scope contract recommendations in line with the Company’s strategic business goals while collaborating with internal stakeholders and management;
• Adopt methodologies to analyze and monitor trends in contractual agreements which can serve as leverage in making better future contract agreements;
• Review contracts and identify areas for possible savings;
• Analyze current market trends and help forecast future contractual requirements of goods and services;
• Provide support in the Network Opex and Capex budget preparations, monitoring and implementation based on upcoming and existing contracts;
• To manage all network operating costs (electricity, lease, field operations cost, service support agreement cost, preventive maintenance cost, staff training cost, vehicles fleet cost and tools) in line with contractual obligations;
• Assist the procurement team to negotiate terms, conditions of sale, and warranties of goods, products, and services with key suppliers, vendors, and service providers;
• Support procurement in developing and implementing procedures and policies for purchasing equipment, hardware and software;
• Facilitate and manage technology service contracts, including recruitment, procurement, development, service control, and consultant contracts;
• Ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) agreed in contracts between the Company and suppliers, or vendors are enforced;
• Provide necessary support to plan and manage the Company’s budgeting processes;
• Ensure all agreed contractual reports are shared within the agreed timeline;
• Assist in developing bid proposals, requirement documentation, and tender documents;
• Oversee contract change management and contract closure;
• Provide appropriate contract and subcontract information to Finance and purchasing departments whenever necessary;
• Communicate contractual strategies effectively and timely to team members and stakeholders;
• Assist in the negotiation of terms, non-disclosure agreements, and other related issues with consultants, contractors, freelancers, and other third-party agents;
• Liaise with the legal team to manage the legal review process;
• Monitor performance of contracts for compliance to ensure the Company’s needs and requirements are met including follow-up checks for corrective action.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A University degree in any field but with emphasis on Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field;
• Minimum 5 years experience working in the IT industry (Telcos preferably);
• Proven experience managing projects. (For Telcos preferably)
• Strong knowledge and solid experience in Business Processes for Telco’s (eTOM Model preferably)
• Good understanding of project management principles. PMP certified preferred;
• Strong knowledge and solid experience in processes and applications (For telcos preferable)
• Knowledge in developing and maintaining ITIL policies and procedures.

3.) Commercial Performance Manager

 

Job Summary

• The successful candidate for this role will join our Enterprise Business Team as a Commercial Performance Manager in the AirtelTigo Business Department. (S)He will develop and drive the tracking of all performance KPIs of the individuals, teams, and the business unit to achieve set targets.
• The Commercial Performance Manager will also ensure the maximization of the business unitâ??s revenue bucket through the extensive review of and analysis of business cases and all revenue lines. (S)He will Monitor and control OPEX and CAPEX investments within agreed benchmarks via a monthly Profit and Loss statement with the objective of maximizing business profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage reporting templates that enable the business unit to track performance against budgets to ensure compliance on daily, weekly, and monthly bases;
• Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly forecast reports on revenue and gross adds projections for the Business with key stakeholders;
• Coordinate and hold custody of annual budget preparation within the business unit;
• Undertake analysis of data and market intelligence to advise management on key issues for strategy development to ensure targets are always met;
• Prepare status reports on performance continuously to guide management decision making;
• Own and manage enterprise pipeline tool and advise management to help build a healthy pipeline that is three times the cover of set targets;
• Provide bottom-up retention and churn forecast (volume/value) as input for Database;
• Provide input into the regular churn and upgrade forecast process, adding insight and expertise;
• Develop a suite of management reports required to know in real-time in month retention performance at volume, value, and ROI level, and disseminates to stakeholders;
• Undertake key analysis of the customer base to ensure value is derived from the existing customer base through cross and upselling to maximize customer value;
• Undertake customer win-back and retention analysis and advise management on key customer retention strategies to ensure the attainment of customer retention KPIs;
• Provide key support in the development of business cases to enhance the justification of key projects within the business unit;
• Undertake post-launch analysis of projects and provide key insights to enhance decision-making on projects within the enterprise business unit.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A University degree in any field but with emphasis on Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Business Studies or related field;
• A minimum of Five (5) years relevant experience developing compelling commercial & pricing propositions (Essential) preferably in Telecoms or an FMCG;
• Good working experience in customer facing environment;
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of various KPI’s.
• Excellent data analysis and excel skills;
• Strong Analytical, statistical and Presentation skills.

4.) Financial Controller

 

Job Summary

• The successful candidate will join our Finance team as Financial Controller reporting to the Chief Finance Officer.
• S(he) will be required to establish systems and procedures to safeguard the assets of the company and will also be required to proactively review these systems and procedures to ensure an efficient organization. (S)He will also be fully in charge of financial risk management, managing all finance and accounting operational risks and proposing ways to mitigate those risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting operations which will encompass Account Receivables, Account payable, General Accounting, Expenditure Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, etc;
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen the company’s internal controls;
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting;
• Identify areas to improve business efficiencies to reduce cost and champion the company’s “War on Waste” agenda while actively contributing to cost savings and cost avoidance;
• Lead and research for technical accounting issues for compliance purposes in a bid to ensure compliance with regulatory and local finance related requirements as well as tax related filing
• Lead in the resolution of technical accounting issues that arise;
• Champion and oversee the month-end and year-end closure process whilst ensuring quality control over all financial transactions and financial reporting;
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports;
• Maintain corporate relationships with banking institutions and external audit firms;
• Oversee Financial Systems and external providers of such systems and their upgrades;
• Work with the Executive Committee and advise on potential risks and forecast opportunities;
• Control and analyze information on the entire finance unit in order to report accurate financial position and to support management decisions;
• Develop metrics and systems for monitoring business performance;
• Assess current accounting operations, implement new processes or recommend improvements;
• Ensure accounts are always reconciled and provide regular feed-back on company's performance and financial reports.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A university degree in any field but with emphasis on Finance, Accounting, Commerce or other related disciplines.
• Possession of an MBA/ or MSc in Finance or other related disciplines will be an added advantage;
• Professional certification in (ICA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA etc.) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of Eight (8) to Ten (10) years combined experience in Accounting and Finance within an operational telecoms business, FMCG environment or related field and five (5) years experience managing diverse finance teams.
• Must have extensive knowledge in accounting principles and practices including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Must be a strategic thinker with strong business and financial acumen with the ability to effectively manage diverse, dynamic, competing priorities in day-to-day operational accountabilities
• Ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of management
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and activities
• Strong leadership and team development and coaching skills

5.) Head, RF Planning and Optimization

 

Job Summary

• The successful candidate for this role will join our Network Planning Team as Head, RF Planning and Optimization in the Network Department.
• (S)He will manage and provide effective leadership to the Radio Planning and Optimization team to plan, design and manage the capacity of the radio networks while ensuring network deployments are in line with coverage, capacity, and quality demands.
• The successful candidate will also optimize the radio network to ensure that network quality and customer experience targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Adapt network coverage and capacity guidelines to the business operation;
• Ensure high-level business strategies and tactical plans are translated into appropriate radio plans and designs and delivered within agreed timelines;
• Take ownership of radio network utilization and ensure the network is used in an effective and efficient manner;
• Responsible for the compilation of radio network nominal plan with inputs from relevant stakeholders;
• Ensure efficient management of the radio network planning OPEX and CAPEX budget through effective planning, design, and deployment to achieve business KPIs (EBITDA, revenue, etc.);
• Ensure the radio network is well optimized as per the required Service Levels with the managed service provider;
• Ensure all radio KPIs meet agreed on thresholds with tracking process for worst cells ensuring effective and timely resolution of cases;
• Coordinate the benchmark and cluster optimization activities to provide insights into business decision-making;
• Seek out new technologies and undertake optimization trials for new features and aligning features and parameters to best practice deployments;
• Ensure the optimization and resolution of customer complaints and within agreed timelines.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A University Degree in any field but with emphasis on Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering Technology or related fields;
• Project management certification will be an added advantage;
• A minimum of eight (8) years relevant working experience in a similar role;
• Highly proficient with cellular network design & operational telecoms principles, cellular wireless technologies, radio access network design theory for 2G/3G/4G technologies and an introduction to 5G technologies;
• Experience in managing vendors, analyzing contracts, business proposals and RFQs;
• Good knowledge in project/program management.
• Able to translate high-level business strategies and tactical plans into technically achievable goals and projects.

6.) MFS Assurance Manager

 

Job Summary

• The successful candidate for this role will join our Revenue Assurance Team as MFS Assurance Manager in the Finance Department. (S)He will report to the Head, Revenue Assurance Operations and will provide the business with assurance services on MFS (Mobile Financial Services) revenues, prevent leakages and perform professional audit work to guarantee the quality of product and identify and mitigate cash risks as part of Revenue Assurance value addition.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the implementation and execution of all MFS and Cash Assurance Billing Controls;
• Provide support on MFS to Finance and MFS operations Team through Business Partnering approach;
• Put in place a weekly risk dashboard reporting on leakages and financial impact;
• Ensure that exceptions on Global System for Mobile Communications (GSMA) Code of Conduct and Cash Assurance alarms are followed up and properly closed;
• Identify manual controls and automate them;
• Document standard operating procedures for all MFS controls;
• Improve all MFS controls to a managed level;
• Carryout periodic logical access review and wallet audit on MFS platform to ensure accesses granted are role based and wallets functionality and configuration are accurate;
• Ensure that alarms and controls around the MFS Framework have been deployed;
• Assist MFS Business unit in the monthly update of their product catalogue.
• Perform periodic end to end review on MFS and Cash to ensure that all controls have been fully implemented and complimentary controls are in place to plug out leakages;
• Ensure key controls and alarms have been defined on key areas;
• Perform control adequacy and effectiveness reviews of business processes that affect revenues;
• Ensure daily follow ups with Treasury to ensure Bank differences are closed on time with Bank Partners;
• Carry out risk analysis on products to ensure control impact has been factored
• Prepare billing test scenarios to be factored in the product testing and periodic testing of products;
• Monitor the MFS dashboard to ensure unusual dips and spikes are picked up.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A University Degree in any field but with emphasis on Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Economics or related fields;
• A minimum of Three (3) years relevant working experience in a similar role
• Good knowledge of the Mobile Financial Services (MFS) business;
• Strong Knowledge in SQL & Oracle Databases;
• Knowledge in Web technologies i.e., PHP etc.
• Excellent analytical skills;
• Experience with creating business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and providing solutions.
