1.) Senior Product Manager
Location: Lagos

Reports to: Head of Product Management
Summary
- Product development activities at Paga fall within the Product Development group, which has distinct, full-stack (from a resource perspective) teams dedicated to different functional organization units in the company. For example, one of the functional teams in the Product Development team is the Agent Network Team which is responsible for development and delivery of products used by the large network of financial service delivery point (agents), across the countries where Paga exists.
- As a full-stack team, this team includes project management, product management, software and database engineering, quality assurance, and UI/UX/Product-Design resources. All teams execute product development using agile (Scrum) methodologies.

As a Senior Product Manager at Paga, you will guide a team that is responsible for owning product development for an entire functional unit of Paga. This means:
- Engaging in strategic product-relation visions setting and strategic decision making.
- Overseeing the development of new products and features.
- Curating and growing existing products.
- Generally delighting your customers (both internal and external).
- Guiding and developing a team of more junior product managers to support your team’s objectives.
- Paga has a distributed product development team with resources split between Lagos, Mexico City, London and Addis Ababa, so this role comes with the expectation of very strong remote collaboration and self-management skills.
- There will be the possibility of occasional, but rare (twice a year at most) travel to some of the Paga office locations for training, team events, user-engagement and general market-empathy development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Functional unit product ownership - Owning the product vision for a functional unit at Paga within the context of the overall product vision.
- Product development activities - Overseeing product-development activities (ideation, specification, design, development feedback, and post-deployment product curation) for specific products and features
- Market engagement - Engaging with end-users and marketing team to develop product strategy
- Training and team growth - Work with peer and junior product managers (and more generally - product development team at large) to grow individual product manager capabilities and improve the product development practice as a whole
- Product curation - Continuously improving existing product offerings through both qualitative and quantitative analysis of product performance and product/market fit.
- Partner Engagement – Working effectively with industry/ecosystem partners to accomplish product goals.
Requirements
At Paga, a product manager's role is both strategic and tactical. To be an effective Senior Product Manager at Paga you must:
- Possess a blend of business and technical savvy; an ability to grasp and translate vision and strategy into concrete product design and deliverables.
- Be able to multitask very effectively and be comfortable juggling multiple product-development streams at once.
- Have strong customer/market empathy to drive a consumer-centric design ethos
- Be comfortable with rapid change and be willing to take ownership to deliver results in a high-pressure product development environment
- Have a passion for quality and an ability and willingness to grow the ability of others in your team to meet those standards.
As a distributed product development team member, communication and collaboration are key. You will need to be excellent at utilizing remote communication tools and applying clear communication and collaboration practices to effectively engage with your “customers”, team mates and other company stakeholders.

2.) State Manager (Sales & Distribution)

About the Role
- The State Manager is responsible for delivering agent revenue growth targets, through effective development and management of the sales team in their assigned region.
- The role involves hands-on supervision of field sales consultants.
- The State Manager manages all aspects of running an efficient sales team: including hiring, supervising, coaching, motivating, and disciplining direct reports.
Primary Responsibilities
- Achievement of commercial targets set for the region - SM has ownership for achieving the overall commercial targets set for all territories within their area.
- They include targets for active agent, transaction mix, transaction value, transaction volume and others as may be assigned.
Deliver on regional set targets - Analyse /break down regional targets to their FSCs (data interpretation):
- Conduct regular spot check on agent activities and sharing with their FSCs.
- Ensure that FSCs report on competitor activities in their assigned area.
- Strategically train FSCs to achieve set targets.
Coaching/Mentoring Field Supervisors (FSCs) in the assigned territory:
- Train and retrain FSCs under their supervision to ensure that they train agents to expected standard.
- Mentor, coach and provide immediate correction to FSCs and escalating issues to RM where applicable.
- Communicate important company updates to the FSCs in their region and ensuring that the information is understood.
- Assess the activities and performance of FSCs under their supervision and report to the RM where applicable.
- Conduct the company wide quarterly EPA for FSCs
Representing Paga in the assigned region:
- Ensuring agents are empowered to meet regional target.
- Conduct spot check visits to agent outlets to ensure proper merchandising standards.
- Work closely with Mega Star and Super Star agents for business continuity and growth.
- Share localised ideas on what works in their region with the Regional Manager and best practices across territories.

About the Role
- The Regional Manager is responsible for delivering on agent, customer, merchant and revenue growth targets through effective development and management of a distribution network.
- The role involves hands-on supervision of a 50+ person field sales/operational support team, ensuring teamwork and capability development, and delivering on commercial targets defined for each period.
- To be successful you will need to be comfortable spending significant time in the field motivating the team and agents and driving both to exceed set targets. You must be someone with a strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with teams that do not report into you.
- The ideal candidate must have a clearly-demonstrated track record in channel recruiting and management and should have produced meaningful sales revenues at a fast-moving consumer goods company or similar.
- The candidate must also have demonstrated skills in driving volumes through a channel, relationship building, monitoring and evaluating results to devise strategies.
- The candidate must also have demonstrated an ability to motivate a team, provide mentorship, and understand how to grow sales staff.
- The successful candidate will also need to be someone who cares about others, relatable, trustworthy, takes initiative, calm under pressure, and have great communication skills - verbal, non-verbal, and written.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing leadership to the region by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, and competencies and sales values are developed to exceed revenue targets
- Working via the field team to manage recruitment, activation and ongoing support of agents across the region
- Delivering on revenue targets for all products through agent-related transactions
- Selection, training and ongoing performance management of regional staff. Focus on optimization of team performance, enhancement of morale and productivity
- Drive collaboration (regional) with cross functional teams who support the activities of the agent network (Marketing, Product Innovation, Customer Service, Finance etc.)
- Budgeting and accounting for utilization of regional funds, human and material resources, and other assets
- Keeping abreast of global trends and best practices relevant to the business, with a view to interpret and adapt same to fit our environment
- Ensure regional stakeholders’ compliance with regulatory requirements and Company standards
- Preparing weekly, monthly and annual operational and management reports

- At least 5years of relevant experience in sales at an FMCG with at least regional management experience
