1.) Procurement Assistant

 

Ref No: STS2022-009
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Recruitment Type: STS- National (6-months renewable contract)

Duties

  • Participate in market survey on fast moving items on a weekly basis
  • Assist in procuring materials and items on cash as per the instruction of back of house Manager
  • Preparing weekly report of outstanding purchase orders (Partial deliveries, nondeliveries, and GIT
  • Ensure that invoices of all cash purchases are quickly submitted daily for preparation of imprest journal for processing and prompt reimbursement by the Finance unit
  • Liaise with Supply chain unit on outstanding purchase order both locally and overseas orders to reduce encumbrances.
  • Assist in raising local purchase order for imprest purchases and other deliveries to the unit
  • Follow up with suppliers in ensuring prompt deliveries of items required for the day to day running of the unit.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Back of House Manager or supervisors.

Qualifications

  • O’level with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar or related role in a well-structured organization.

  • Have ability to work with minimal supervision, trustworthy and commitment to work during weekends and holiday when needed.

2.) Airport Assistant

Location: Lagos
Recruitment Type: STS - National (6-months renewable contract)

Duties

  • Meet IITA Shuttle/Vehicles arriving the airport with IITA passengers.
  • Support airport representative at check-in counter to facilitate IITA passengers, move passenger’s luggage to loading point and car park.
  • Assist with collection of passenger’s missing luggage.
  • Assist passengers with tickets and covid related issues at the airport.
  • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • O’ Level with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar or related role in a well-structured organization.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Have good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Be smart and able to drive.

3.) Stores Attendant

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Recruitment Type: STS - National (6-months renewable contract)

Duties

  • Follow standards for issuing and receiving stock within the store's area of operation.
  • Assist in monitoring and take inventory on regular basis to compile orders based on par levels or needs.
  • Assist in maintaining clear and organize records to ensure all reports and invoices are filed and stored properly.
  • Assist in monitoring PAR levels for all food items to ensure proper levels.
  • Assist in storing of both food & beverage and operational stock.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day upkeep on the storage facilities and hygiene.
  • Assist and verify all goods arrived as per the agreed purchase, delivery note and agreed quantity has been received.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all areas, keeping storage areas clean & tidy and in strict compliance with hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure all store requisitions are signed by concerned Department Heads (HOD’s) before issuing.
  • Assist in conducting physical stock takes on a regular basis and the physical count and ensure counts tallied with the inventory count from Ezee-Burp.
  • Assist in identifying about to expire/obsolescence items.
  • Follow up on documentation of after-hours issues ensuring it is in accordance with established internal controls and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures particularly relating to food and beverage items
  • Notify the store manager/supervisor of any low stock level
  • Adhere to the method of First in First out.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Back of House Manager or supervisors.

4.) Post-Doctoral Fellow, Gender Research

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description

  • The Gender Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) in Nigeria (based in the IITA HQ) will be involved in the implementation of the new One CGIAR Harnessing Gender and Social Equality for Resilience in Agri-Food Systems (HER+) Initiative.
  • The first business cycle of HER+ is from April 2022 to March 2025. The PDF will coordinate and assist in the implementation of both qualitative and quantitative work on the HER+ Initiative in Nigeria.
  • The PDF will work on Work Package 1 (WP1) of HER+ Initiative, which will specifically carry out research to understand normative constraints that restrict women’s abilities to build economic resilience in the face of climate change challenges and design and pilot gender transformative approaches.
  • In executing the research, the PDF will collaborate with other researchers outside of IITA who are on the WP1 of the HER+ Initiative and work under the supervision of IITA Senior Gender Scientist, Dr. Steven Cole, who is the WP1 Lead.
  • The PDF will participate in all stages of the research in the HER+ Initiative, including design, preparation, data collection, data analysis, and reporting/writing up of science outputs.
  • The PDF will also attend and/or contribute to presentations of research findings at conferences, workshops, and take advantage of certain training opportunities, as assigned.

Position Responsibilities
The PDF will:

  • Contribute to or lead in the development of research design, including the development and piloting of research tools.
  • Offer necessary trainings and capacity building to research assistants and enumerators, and partners as necessary.
  • Support and/or supervise qualitative and quantitative data collection to ensure that the highest data quality standards are met.
  • Clean and analyze qualitative and quantitative data using statistical software.
  • Coordinate field research activities with colleagues and support staff involved in the HER+ Initiative with strategic stakeholders such as local government, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and lead the production and publication of high-quality research reports, communication products (e.g., blogs), and peer-reviewed journal articles for dissemination to the wider research community.
  • Mentor/assist with the supervision of gender research assistants as needed.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization through the development of gender (and youth) focused concept notes and proposals.
  • Undertake any other job-related duties as assigned by the IITA Senior Gender Scientist.

Educational Qualifications

  • The candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies, Gender Studies, or other relevant fields from a highly recognized university with at least three years of prior field research experience.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent command of both qualitative and quantitative data analysis software.
  • Demonstrated experience in participatory, gender action learning, and/or gender transformative research approaches.
  • Demonstrated field research experience in an international agricultural research for development focused project or program.
  • Evidence of the ability to publish in peer-review journals.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team in a cross-cultural environment.

General Information:

  • The initial appointment is for two years. IITA offers a competitive remuneration package paid in US dollars.
