1.) Market Specialist, Market Operations, Nigeria (Hausa)
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Description
- Every day, people come to Facebook to connect with friends and family, discover what's going on in the world, interact with businesses, find potential customers, and build community. Facebook’s Global Operations team exists to help them.
- Within Scaled Operations, Market Operations goal is to reduce bad experiences for people—including businesses and advertisers—who use Facebook.
- We analyze global, local, and language-based trends and nuances and collaborate with other Facebook teams to make changes that help people form stronger, more meaningful connections using our platforms.
- Our team is seeking a solutions-oriented, data-savvy Market Specialist who is passionate about providing a great support experience for our community of users.
- You will work with the Sub Saharan Africa market team to review content reported for potential abuse, resolve user account issues, improve the overall support experience for that market, as well as solve thematic global issues.
- You will be part of a data-driven analysis culture and will also help scale our operations by optimizing and automating processes, solving problems and, most importantly, helping to prevent them. This position is full time and is based in our Dublin, Ireland office.

Responsibilities
- Use market specific knowledge, signals and insights to spot and scope scalable solutions to improve the support of our community of users in Nigeria
- Liaise closely with our vendors to ensure all operational KPIs meet and exceed targets and work collaboratively to improve processes and tools and scale solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve our processes and tools being the Subject Matter Expert
- Remain up to date on key workflow changes, operational guidelines, policy updates and our Community Standards
- Investigate and resolve issues that are reported on Facebook such as requests for account support and reports of potentially abusive content including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material
- Analyse key metrics to improve our operational workflows
- Independently deliver solutions for key experience issues through effective problem solving and project management
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or 1+ years of professional experience within an operations or project management environment
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hausa
- Demonstrable ongoing connection with the community in Nigeria and detailed knowledge of its culture and common practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical and data skills such as Excel and SQL or experience with visualisation tools such as Tableau to drive efficient analytics and reporting
- Fluency in Fulani, Igbo or Yoruba is a plus.

2.) Software Engineer, New Product Experimentation

Job Description

- We are looking for a Software Engineer versed in building mobile apps on both the iOS and Android platforms.
- You will be responsible for architecting and building applications, as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with product teams to build new and innovative application experiences for Android and iOS mobile platforms
- Build spec-perfect, performant products across both iOS & Android mobile platforms
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms
- Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.

- Demonstrated experience driving change within an organization and leading complex technical projects
- Extensive experience building React Native applications for Android & iOS
- Firm grasp of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax

- Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio/IntelliJ
- Understanding of GraphQL query language and core concepts
- Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
- Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Mocha
- Start up experience, creative, scrappy, high attention to detail, and extreme interest in craft

3.) Global Security Area Manager
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Description
- The Global Security Area Manager (GSAM), will report to the Facebook Global Security Services Manager (GSSM), and have responsibility for all matters pertaining to the security & safety of West Africa offices.
- The ideal candidate will manage the security and reception contracts, monitor the security environment, prepare for and respond to incidents, conduct investigations, manage and coordinate special events and ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
- Other duties include supporting initiatives to strengthen external partnerships with local law enforcement agencies, third party vendors and community organisations.
- The GSAM will lead daily security operations across West Africa and ensure strong vendor performance, ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed priorities, time limitations, and financial constraints and reduce risks to staff, assets and operations.
- Under the guidance of the GSSM, the GSAM will partner with peer groups to ensure alignment with Facebook’s culture, values, and policies.
Responsibilities
- Management of GSS teams including 24/7 security services for routine operations and internal and external events, and a reception team.
- Coordination, planning, and communication of the security team.
- Assist in the implementation of security audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Work with other G’s to improve security policies, standards, and practices and build a safe and secure environment for our staff and visitors.
- Collaborate internally and externally to execute goals and objectives.
- Handle client issues and concerns and escalate where needed.
- Assist with security and safety awareness training programs.
- Provide detailed, accurate and timely reports to the GSSM.
- Collaborate with key partners to build innovative and creative security strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Global Standards and Global Programs.
- Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, landlords and others in support of Facebook security initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of security aspects of incident and emergency response, evacuation training, and contingency planning.
