1.) Strategic Partner Development Manager, Search Product Partnerships

 

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

About the Job

  • The Search, Geo, Commerce, and Ads (SGCA) Partnerships team manages content partnerships (e.g. data licensing agreements to showcase better content to users) and actions integrations (e.g. collaborations to let users do things such as reserve a table) for Google’s products in several areas including: Search, Google Assistant, Geo (Maps, Local), News and Publishing, Research and Machine Intelligence, as well as Google Chrome and Web, Developer Products, Identity, and Lens.
  • As a Strategic Partner Development Manager within Search Product Partnerships focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa, you will develop and work on partnerships strategies that enable Search to meet its product goals across a number of industries.
  • You'll work closely with product leaders and cross-functional teams to source, facilitate, and execute complex strategic agreements for Google, as well as develop go-to market strategy for scaling new ecosystems.
  • You will collaborate across Google with the Global Partnerships teams, product owners, and other stakeholders outside of your immediate team. You will put our customers at the heart of decisions.




Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Product and other cross-functional teams to drive Search-related product partnerships in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Manage complex agreements with external partners to license high-quality data for the purpose of building or extending new, engaging Search features.
  • Design and lead growth strategy for Search in Sub-Saharan Africa, across multiple industries and product initiatives.
  • Design and implement processes and policies to improve Google’s ability to partner globally; ensure partners are fulfilling their contractual obligations and that Google is providing the required support for them.
  • Manage coordination with internal cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Engineering, Policy, PR, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Finance) and other business development teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in business development, negotiations, and/or partner management.
  • Experience in the media, telecom, or technology sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working within the Search ecosystem/industry.
  • Experience as a strategic thought-leader in business development, partnerships, product management, general management, and/or sales.
  • Demonstrated success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships across departments including sales, marketing, business development, engineering, and product management.
  • Strategic, structured thinker with the ability to articulate new concepts and business models that are unique to Africa’s emerging markets to a global cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to structure partnership models and work with technical, contractual, and financial issues.
  • Effective relationship-building, facilitation, and communication skills.

2.) Associate Product Marketing Manager, Platforms and Ecosystems

About the Job

  • Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey.
  • From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.
  • As an Associate Product Marketing Manager on the Sub Saharan Africa Access Marketing team, you will work to solve access barriers for more people to access the internet and get online across the region.
  • You will work with diverse partners from carriers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to telco partners.
  • You'll deliver campaigns including training that drives usage of Google Workspace and support our cross-functional teams to build scaled approaches to engage Android partners in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies and organizational coordination for feature/product launches including positioning, naming, external communications, competitive analysis, and feature prioritization.
  • Develop marketing plans for Android in SSA and execute campaigns (co-marketing and owned) to drive usage of Google Workspace. Work with the Business Development team to co-market with Telcos and OEM partners.
  • Define retail marketing strategy for Android in SSA, including always-on retail training programs, sales incentive programs, point-of-sale marketing, and other customer facing experiences. Develop methods to track effectiveness of retail strategy through measurement and customer research.
  • Use quantitative methods, models, and research to help Google better understand consumer behavior to provide important feedback back into the product and strategic development cycle. Determine return on investment for projects.




Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in marketing, brand management, business consulting, strategy consulting, agency, or related.
  • Experience in managing partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated analytical experience.
  • Understanding of Google's products, marketing as a discipline and ability to develop frameworks for a solid marketing storytelling.
  • Demonstrated ability for developing and understanding strategy.
  • Global mindset and ability to think across disciplines, industries, cultures, and scenarios. Ability to manage and coordinate projects that span multiple locations.
  • Interest for technology, ability to "think outside the box”, and leadership ability to execute effectively.
  • Great communications skills.

3.) Head of Startup Ecosystem, Developer Ecosystems

Responsibilities

  • Lead Google for Startups Accelerator Africa, including driving the team's strategy while collaborating with stakeholders to gain buy-in, leading and executing initiatives with the group, setting goals, measuring success, and sharing best practices across the community
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including mentors (in Africa and beyond), startups, and teams across Google, ensuring all logistics and operations are performed at the highest standards
  • Launch and manage targeted programs to support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the startup ecosystem, including Black Founders Fund Africa and similar programs targeted at underrepresented groups across Africa
  • Source and generate startup-appropriate technology training around Google platforms, including Google Cloud, TensorFlow, Android, Web, and Firebase




Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in Project / Program Management with cross-functional and/or growth startup experience.
  • Experience with team management, working with cross-functional teams, and leading operational initiatives.
  • Ability to travel internationally 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with venture capital firms, angel investors, and/or startup accelerator programs in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Experience of working closely with executives, product, and engineering teams.
  • Experience with process automation and event management.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, solving complex problems, and developing creative solutions.
