1.) Maintenance Coordinator
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Reports to: Cell Manager
Seniority Level: Non-Management
Function: Operations
Role Positioning and Objectives
- The role owner will focus on eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses at the lowest cost.
- The Maintenance coordinator is responsible for building capability in Operating Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall line results supporting the Compelling Business Needs.
- He will ensure that technical resources are available (spares, tools, manuals etc.) and that technical staff is sufficiently skilled and motivated to fulfill their roles successfully.
What You Will Be Accountable For
- Ensure maintenance plan is prepared and circulated
- Ensures that all MOs are closed out
- Ensures that maintenance task list reviewed at regular frequency to promote improvements
- Ensures machine operates with minimum down time
- Ensures products are within quality parameters
- Analyses downtime and devises and implements methods of reduction
- Tracks and assists in improving on effectiveness of maintenance
- Develops OPLs and tools to improve operating teams capability
- Ensure the revision and updating of “Maintenance Technical Documentation” occurs as vital.

Leadership Results:
- Assesses technical ability of technical staff and develops plans to address areas for improvement
- Communicate effectively with Team leaders and Managers to improve operational objectives.
- Impact knowledge and training to new Technicians on production and maintenance of machines and equipment.
Management Results:
- Supervise spare parts usage and machine down time and reduce it monthly
- Supervise technical staff competence levels and train/ coach mentor to improve.
Relationships Results:
- Builds cordial relationships with technical staff as an integrated member of technical team
- Interacts with OEM’s on technical issues and coordinates activity of OEM technical staff.
Innovation Results:
- Questions established training / maintenance/ fault finding methodology and builds / devises more efficient alternatives.
IWS Results:
- Owns MP&S DMS for the factory and maintenance related SWP’s within the PM pillar and supports pillar in step progression
- Improves capability of maintenance leads and other maintenance resources on performing the MP&S system as per standard
- Manages MP&S Health reporting.
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- National Diploma with Engineering background
- The role holder will require an expert knowledge of cigarette making or packing machinery with at least 2 years of “hands on” experience of running these machines in a production environment.
- Coupled with the above, a proven understanding of technical training, fault finding, maintenance techniques will be critical to the success of the role
- Knowledge of IWS tools (UPS, IFA etc) and DMS (MP & S, BDE, CIL, CL). They should also be able to use them for loss elimination purposes.
- Thirdly, a high degree of interpersonal skill will be required to establish credentials and to pass on knowledge and experience to newer team members
- Interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively coach and train others
- High level of personal responsibility and accountability for results.

2.) Fiscal Affairs Manager
Location: Lagos
Reports to: Head of Fiscal Affairs
Seniority Level: Middle Management
Function: Legal and External Affairs
Geographical Scope: Anglophone countries across West Africa Area, main focus - Nigeria and Ghana
Role Positioning And Objectives
- Develop and implement Excise and Anti Illicit trade engagement campaigns according to the Excise and Anti Illicit Trade strategy.
- Monitor national and international developments which influences national excise and illicit trade policies, and support creation of positions and advocacy material aligned with Regional / Global policies and priorities.
What You Will Be Accountable For
- Managing the Anti Illicit Trade campaign in SA and in close collaboration and alignment with the Area Fiscal Affairs Manager
- Monitoring of excise, international trade and governmental revenue developments in the countries in scope
- Actively monitors the external environment for excise, tax and trade developments and keeps the business informed
- Support developing excise and anti-illicit trade strategy for the specific markets
- Implementing engagement campaigns according to the strategy, including on tax structures and systems,
- Engaging with 3rd parties, Governmental bodies, associated economic organizations, and other stakeholders according to the key stakeholder map
- Provides effective and timely support with the development of supporting advocacy, positions, communications materials, and reporting mechanisms.

Essential Experience, Skills And Knowledge
- The job holder should have a relevant four-year Degree and minimum 5 - 7 years experience in a consultancy or in-house function in the areas of either legal, political, tax and trade or government affairs.
- Good understanding of excise systems and impacts on varying portfolio constructs
- Good knowledge of pricing and excise drivers, like elasticity and affordability
- Good understanding of supply chain processes
- Understanding of Macro and Socio demographic developments
- Working knowledge of fiscal affairs and trade blocs
- Understanding of risk and risk management processes
- Experience in a global Consultancy, FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
- Indirect taxation, International Trade, Pricing
- Commercial perspective is key, and therefore the incumbent should ideally have various excise systems and their interaction with pricing and a brand portfolio
- The incumbent must also be able to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
- Analytical skills, Ability to make complex subjects simple

3.) Process Lead
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Reports to: Cell Manager

Role Positioning And Objectives
- The Ibadan factory is a factory within the BAT group and has evolved from a project to an established manufacturer of tobacco products. Over the years, the Ibadan factory has invested in human capital development through the Regional Africa Middle East Training Centre in South Africa and other necessary diverse channels as evidenced in the improvements made year on year.
- The Process Lead is expected to develop the operating teams’ technical understanding and mastery of process control.
- He/she is the Centreline DMS (Daily Management System), Changeover DMS, and Change Management DMS owner for the line(s).
- The Process Lead owns the integrity of the Line Event Data System and is responsible for data analytics of line losses.
- He/she also act as the team’s expert in troubleshooting / problem solving.
- Most of the individual’s time will be spent on the operating floor working with the teams and building the capability of the people in their area.
What You Will Be Accountable For
RTT / DMS:
- Owns the Centreline Management system for the line(s), including:
- Establish CL targets & limits for the equipment owned by the team Ensuring all CL audits are completed at the proper frequency
- Develop control strategies to enable operators to respond to out-of-control situations
- Training team members on documentation needed when running out of CL
- Investigating, validating & updating new CL standards to eliminate losses
- Executing weekly Health Checks, identifying gaps in system, and implementing appropriate countermeasures
- Owns the Changeover DMS for the line(s)
- Establishing Changeover standards for all product SKU’s
- Reviewing Changeover critiques and coaching shift teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities to achieve CO success criteria
- Leading Rapid Changeover events to identify additional opportunities to reduce changeover time as required by business need
- Executing weekly Health Checks
- Owns the Change Management DMS & validation processes including process benchmarking & reapplication across processes, modules, and plants.

Loss Elimination:
- Analyses line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities including the creation of current state and future state loss trees utilizing tools such as loss allocation, weibull and S-shape
- Participating in Line DDS process daily to set priorities and allocate resources, and report results for previous 24 hours
- Using Reliability Engineering tools to drive Centreline DMS and loss elimination
- Owns integrity of Line Event Data Systems (LEDS).
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
- Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line(s) • Coaches teams to build capability in problem solving skills and formal tools, including but not limited to Initial Problem Solving, Unified Problem Solving, 6W2H, and 5 Why’s
- Leads and builds the capability of team around process failures technical troubleshooting.
Essential Experience, Skills And Knowledge
- The role holder will require a knowledge of any manufacturing environment with at least 2 years’ experience in a production environment, thereby built people leadership skills and demonstrates BAT Manufacturing, Quality and EH&S competencies. He must have sound coaching skills and must be able to develop others.
- The individual is expected to possess a Higher National Diploma or Bachelor of Science / Engineering from a recognised institution.
- A strong analytical and coaching skills which inspires superior performance will be required.
- Takes ownership of equipment reliability and focusses effort on optimum production output as per schedule. Demonstrates ownership of improving the maintenance results and systems at specific equipment level.
- Understands and can clearly articulate basic demand principles, understands and abides by standards and procedures for maintaining high standards of equipment effectiveness, and understands means of delivering high quality product outputs through effective utilization of direct and ancillary equipment.
- A high degree of inter-personal skills will be required to establish credentials and to pass on knowledge and experience to newer team members. Works together across boundaries internally and externally. Influences people to create and deliver shared goals.
- Possesses effective communication skills and can deliver superior performance with Operating teams. Understands what it takes to develop and succeed personally and professionally, is confident, deals effectively with ambiguity and recovers quickly from setbacks.
