1.) Finance Officer

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Abuja

Job Description

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of a Finance Officer, who will be responsible to provide support to the mission financial plan updating and management to achieve mission overall budget management strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Update Financial Plan with BFU balances on a monthly basis for optimization considering donor requirements on flexibility and compliance;
  • Update Financial Plan with general ledger of closed SAGA on a monthly basis to determine gaps between actual and plan cost;
  • Update Financial Plan with Leavers, New Joiners and Base change staff list;
  • Update Financial Plan with Expat list and costing on a monthly basis;
  • Check monthly timesheet/budget allocation on GTA aligns with forecast;
  • Assist in preparing budget proposals as required;
  • Create financial line on Nomenclature as required;
  • Prepare BFU Parameters once budgets are approved;
  • Assist in preparing BFU’s twice monthly;
  • Check accuracy of amounts on statutory deductions and compliance to rules and deadlines;
  • Ensure organized and complete filling of all statutory payments and reports. Such as Taxes, EFCC, pension etc.;
  • Coordinating the retrieval of needed archived documentation for all spot checks, internal and external audits;
  • Liaise with Base teams on any challenge with receiving dispatch of supporting documents timely;
  • Supervise Capital Finance Assistants and ensure proper verification of documents being checked and monthly progress report is done;
  • Ensure all months’ supporting documents are timely updated on E-archiving platform by finance Assistant;
  • Encourage collaboration between the assistants and the different departments e.g. Audit, Logistics and HR to ensure compliance;
  • Identify training needs of finance assistants under his/her supervision;
  • Set position objectives for and motivate finance assistants to achieve set objectives.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor equivalent in Accounting / Finance;
  • Basic Knowledge of donor rules;
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of Excel;
  • Knowledge of Nigeria statutory rules and requirement;
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Finance and Accountancy;
  • Exceptional organization and planning skills, ability to manage and follow work plans;
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, able to negotiate, influence, give effective feedback, be a team player;
  • Able to manage stress effectively, juggle competing priorities, and balance various team needs
  • Champion of ACF Charter values of : Professionalism, Transparency, Neutrality, Access to Victims and  Non-Discrimination;
  • Previous ACF experience, previous INGO experience;
  • Experience with donor-funded programs;
  • Experience supervising others desirable.

2.) Hygiene Promotion Assistant

Job Title: Hygiene Promotion Assistant

Location: Potiskum, Yobe

Reporting to: Hygiene Officer

Job Description

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of a Hygiene Promotion Assistant, who will be responsible to assist undertake hygiene promotion related activities and non-food items distribution to affected populations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing training modules for the promotion of hygiene practices at household and communities;
  • Assist in conducting home visits and visits to the community (schools, health facilities, etc.) to identify gaps in terms of hygiene, sanitation and use of water;
  • Organize emergency hygiene promotion awareness raising sessions;
  • Mobilize communities and health facilties to adopt safe hygiene practices as promoted by the project (latrine construction, hand washing facilities, environmental cleanliness.);
  • Assist the in conducting training sessions for the community workers and/or targeted populations;
  • Conduct focus group discussion for Women and Girls to identify location for construction of WASH facilities;
  • Write a weekly activity reports;
  • Propose possible improvements;
  • Assist in the process of beneficiaries selection to receive NFI assistance;
  • Assist in beneficiary registration;
  • Assist distribute shelter, hygiene and NFI kits to registered beneficiaries.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of National Diploma in Public Health or Health related field;
  • Motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive;
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited;
  • Fluency in Hausa and English;
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy;
  • Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy;
  • Previous experience with Action Against Hunger.

3.) Nutrition and Health Officer

Job Description

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of a Nutrition and Health Officer, who will be responsible in charge for the day-to-day implementation and completion of Nutrition and health project activities throughout the project life cycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate with M&E team in supervision of data collection for nutrition and health assessments;
  • Liaise with Nutrition and Health Assistants for accessing community support group and health facility database on a regular basis and updating overall health facility based activities;
  • Conduct ongoing capacity assessment of health workers on CMAM services delivery, IMCI service delivery, reproductive health service delivery, vaccination etc. and review the training needs and/or coaching needs;
  • Ensure that all health facilities/sites have adequate supplies to delivery uninterrupted health care services through identifying needs, informing line manager on regular basis;
  • Support the Nutrition and Health Programme Manager in organizing LGA based coordination meeting;
  • Prepare individual monthly action plan in reference to work plan and share with the Nutrition and Health Programme Manager in regular monthly planning meeting with nutrition and health teams led by the Nutrition and Health Programme Manager;
  • Ensure that all children and patients visiting ACF supported health facilities are properly examined and treated according to national health and nutritional protocols and standards;
  • Identify gaps for WASH in health facilities and inform the Nutrition and Health Programme manager on a regular basis;
  • Ensure Availability of essential Nutrition & Health supplies in assigned Health facilities including data tools;
  • Develop monthly monitoring and supervision plan for the LGA and share with the Nutrition and Health Programme Manager;
  • Ensure that specific monitoring finding is reported to the Nutrition and Health Programme Manager with potential solutions;
  • Regularly follow up with the teams on the progress of activity, challenges and guide on necessary actions;
  • Share training plans with identified needs to the PM well in advance to facilitate support from HR/Admin/Logistics;
  • Track Supervisee’s daily attendance, validate monthly attendance for supervisee, and submit it on a timely basis to HR;
  • Maintain and update database for health workers, community health workers/volunteers, trainings and share with line manager;
  • Prepare consolidated tracking tool for supportive supervision visits/on-job coaching sessions and share with line manager;
  • Update LGA work plans, individual work plans and share with line manager;
  • Use appropriate attendance sheet on-job coaching sessions, workshops/meetings and trainings and share a copy with line manager;
  • Use specific supervision checklist during supervision visits and archive filled supervision checklists with summary report – every month;
  • Fill the health evolution reports every month for the LGA and share it with line manager for consolidation.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Heath or other relevant qualifications with experience in Public Health and CMAM programming;
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in primary health care program;
  • An excellent report-writing skill is required including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa;
  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills;
  • Team management experience with similar programs;
  • Ability to observe and to provide feedback on the activities;
  • Ability to manage staff according to local culture and organization policies.

4.) Warehouse Assistant

Job Title: Warehouse Assistant

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full time
Department: Logistics
Reporting to: Warehouse Officer
Proposed start date: September 2023

Job Description

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of Warehouse Assistant who will be responsible to support the store management, monitor stock utilization, the storage conditions, support the receipt of shipments and cargo etc.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support to Warehouse Officer on update on the SFU;
  • Report any problems with quality, quantity or documentation immediately;
  • Update any database upon request in the framework of storage management;
  • Keep stocks forms bin cards, stock cards etc. up to date;
  • Restrict entry into storage facilities and keep keys for the storage facilities;
  • Observe the minimum stock balances to anticipate any shortage in rolling stock and report it to the warehouse officer;
  • Advice on the minimum stock balance according to consumption;
  • Pay particular attention to use-by dates of food and medicine, ensuring proper stock rotation. Advise Logistics Assistant whenever expiry dates are approaching (within 2 months);
  • Carry out monthly physical inventory of all items in stock and anytime upon request or convenience;
  • Identify stock that is not being utilized and report to warehouse officer;
  • Check daily that the store is clean, organized and is regularly ventilated;
  • Arrange stock in such a way that it’s easy to count and aisles are accessible. Check daily and record the temperature and humidity of the store;
  • Remove/ separate infected products and inform the Logistics Assistant;
  • Separate foodstuffs from other stock and pay special attention to dangerous goods;
  • Ensure storage facilities are free from rats, rodents and any other pests which may damage stock and periodically plan for fumigation of storage facilities;
  • Plan for disposal of expired/ infected products in collaboration with the logistics officer and program teams;
  • Ensure budget holders personally conduct a physical review any stock they have requested and sign the necessary documentation;
  • Support the process of loading and unloading, including casual worker request, attendance sheets and ensuring timely payment is made.

Position Requirements

  • Diploma with professional experience in stock management;
  • At least 2 year proven experience in stock management;
  • Sound knowledge of general storage procedures;
  • Knowledge of computer packages excel and word;
  • Highly organized;
  • Good communication skills in both written and oral English and excellent in applicable local language;
  • Inhabitant of NE Nigeria region.
