1.) Manufacturing Engineer

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for accelerating the capabilities of the Manufacturing plant ensuring safety is number one, machines are reliable, and improvements are made. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Consult with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Work closely with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Responsible for the engineering design and maintenance of process instrumentation.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Work with procurement to reduce overhead costs and improve material availability.
• Troubleshoot processes and solve problems with Electrical/Mechanical components to ensure continuous production.
• Assist in training the workforce on manufacturing processes and process improvements.
• Responsible for the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as: standardized work instructions, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen/5S
• Implement process improvements to achieve manufacturing excellence in areas such as process yield (e.g. First Pass Yield, Rolled Throughput Yield), cycle time reduction and productivity.
• Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues to Engineering and DFMs (e.g. through the use of Engineering Change Requests - ECRs).
• Review and sign-off on Engineering Change Orders that impact Inventory - including product life cycle issues, obsolescence, etc.
• Creates, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics on manufacturing process capability and product quality.
• Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.

Qualification Required & Experience

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Minimum BS/ MS in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
• 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing type environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of product lines, manufacturing processes and customer technology.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications desired.
• Knowledge of stress analysis and mechanical apparatus design PC skills and working knowledge of engineering software packages such as AUTOCAD and Math CAD.
• Good working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and stress analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed; SAP experience highly preferred.
• Materials engineering experience, with ability to identify manufacturing process effects on material properties.
• A strong understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and the safety risks involved.
• Experience in operational excellence such as lean thinking, six sigma and theory of constraints.
• Experience with maintaining manufacturing machinery and a thorough understanding of TPM’s.

2.) Mining Engineer

 

Description

• Schlumberger has an urgent opening for a Mining Engineer role in the Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Mine Production, this position is focused on providing support to the operations teams to deliver against physical plans and strategic objectives by providing timely and workable short term mine production schedules and drill and blast planning. You will join a team responsible for ensuring plans and designs are prepared and approved in a timely manner to maintain continuity of safe production. Utilizing your experience, you will generate pit/stop and drill/blast designs to achieve operational targets in compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with, and provide support to the Senior Mining Engineer and operational teams to safely achieve mining department goals and objectives.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Work closely with, and provide support to the Senior Mining Engineer and operational teams to safely achieve mining department goals and objectives.
• Prepare & communicate Dragline designs and schedules;
• Develop and follow the Production Planning standards and processes;
• Maintain path compliance for delivery of budget performance metrics
• Participate in the investigation of reported events & training for Production Planning
• Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives;
• Identifying improvement initiatives and threats to the plan
• Build cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.
• Generate pit/stope and drill/blast designs to achieve operational targets in compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
• Collaborating with other departments to produce safe, efficient, and practical mine plans
• Ensure implementation and compliance of the Weekly Plan and site Safety, Health and Environmental standards to ensure safe and sustainable mine standards.
• Leading and participating in operational incident investigations and risk assessments
• Provide information to relevant staff to assist in the End of Month reporting requirements.
• Coordinate plans and schedules and monitoring of actual progress with benchmarks.

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Mining Engineering or similar
• A minimum of five years’ experience in open pit and/or underground operations with extensive experience using mining software packages.
• Prior experience working as a mining engineer on an operational open-cut mine
• Proficient in MS Office and mine design, planning and scheduling packages;
• Planning, design and scheduling skills
• Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently or in small to medium teams.
• Experience in large scale open stopping underground mining operations.
• Sound understanding of underground drill and blast, mine production and development methods, mine scheduling and ventilation.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to contribute and work effectively in a team.
• Ability to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Prepares comprehensive and complex proposals, reports, correspondence, charts, tables, graphics and other documents using various software packages.
• Researches and creates complex data and information for inclusion in reports, information packages and/or presentation materials.

4.) Financial Analyst

 

Description

• Schlumberger has an urgent opening for a Financial Analyst role in the Finance and Accounting team. The Financial Analyst is responsible for the general accounting for a particular business or geographic territory. Must ensure that transactions impacting financial reports are properly monitored, controlled and posted to the general ledger in the proper period. This person provides assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements. The Financial Analyst will be a hands-on all-rounder with an Accounting or Finance background who is willing to assist in a wide range of analytical and administration aspects of the Schlumberger Financial unit. Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

• Perform general ledger accounting. Validate accounting by outsourced organizations, including pre-paid, accruals and allocations. Perform complex transactions.
• Perform cost center and profit center accounting. Validate accuracy of posting to appropriate cost centers, and request setup, creation and closure of controlling master data objects to meet business insight needs.
• Develop financial models and complete trend and comparative analysis, to craft business decisions.
• Perform project accounting. Create new projects and set up settlement rules, perform period-end settlements and review projects’ closure.
• Perform intercompany accounting. Administer and submit intercompany cost recharges as they originate in the normal course of business.
• Provide detailed review and variance analysis of other non-direct resource categories such as Transportation and Mobilization, Lease and Rent and Office and Camp.
• Communicate and work closely with the GeoUnit Shared Services Organization to investigate and understand negative cost trends.
• Prepare balance sheet notes. Validate balance sheet reconciliations and clear open items by outsourced organizations. Certify completeness of balance sheet notes.
• Assist with financial planning, forecasting and monitoring of results versus objectives
• Participate in Internal Audit assignments and support fraud investigations.
• Understands, reviews, implements and complies with Sarbanes Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix.

Qualification Required & Experience

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• HND, BA, BS, or B.Com degree required (Minimum HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics).
• Masters’ degree, or a higher qualification, in Finance, Business, Statistics, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or equivalent.
• Professional Accounting Qualification is an asset (CA, ACCA or CPA)
• At least 3-5 years’ relevant professional experience
• Must have related accounting or financial experience.
• Strong accounting and financial modeling skills in a multi divisional portfolio.
• Knowledge of SAP, Blackline or Power BI is preferable
• Digital mindset, AI and ML experience using data visualization reporting tools
• Ambition, self-driven put skills in action & Strong Microsoft excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace environment with tight deadlines, willing to learn new skills
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Experience giving presentations and communicating and interacting with a broad range of audiences
