1.) Data Analytics Officer

 

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract

Overview

  • A Data Analytics Officer will manage the processes of accurate data collection, processing, modeling and analysis. The ideal candidate has a talent for seeing solutions in sprawling data sets, with experience in providing impactful data insights and steering effective user acquisition and retention strategies.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to synthesize valuable insights from raw data, and the communication skills to effectively disseminate information across the team and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of high-value or complex proposals or bids including proposal writing Design architecture, deploy and maintain supporting infrastructure for Idmibok’s analytic platforms
  • Automate the deployment, administration and operations of the infrastructure and analytic platforms
  • Build and maintain monitoring, log aggregation, and reporting on infrastructure performance, application performance, and user behavior
  • Build and maintain standard authentication and access patterns for integrations within Idmibok’s broader data/technology ecosystem
  • Administer and operationally support Idmibok’s analytic platforms and supporting infrastructure
  • Partner with the Information Technology team to maintain and support application licensing and software distribution
  • Provide analytics tools and platforms subject matter expertise to staff/team
  • Develop and implement methods for educating at scale
  • Provide ad-hoc support of various growth initiatives including qualitative research, survey design, web development, and more.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree or a Master's Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science / IT.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a BI, data science or analyst role in an organization.
  • Knowledge of statistics, specifically experimental design, and study.
  • Familiarity with common web and social tools (e.g. Google Analytics, social platform analytics).
  • Experience with data analysis tools, workflows, and building dashboards using tools like Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on taking a data-focus approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, self-start, contribute under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Google Drive, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Slack, Box and Basecamp is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using Python and/or R to perform data analysis.
  • Strong NumPy/PANDAS skills.
  • Strong grasp of SQL database usage.

2.) MIS / Innovations Officer

Job Overview

  • The MIS/Innovations Officer is responsible for supporting MIS application development and deployment of Idmibok International and its affiliates’ computer software.
  • S/he should possess excellent software engineering skills with experience in web development and optimization, data visualization, and database systems design.
  • S/he will also conceptualize and develop graphic materials including infographics and data visualization, presentations, online publications, one-pagers, reports, and other communication materials as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the development and deployment of organizational systems, including custom developed, standard, and/or hosted solutions.
  • Troubleshoot software malfunctions, maintaining existing programs and make appropriate modifications based on changes in program implementation, equipment, personnel and/or errors in existing programs.
  • Advise and execute MIS efforts, including developing and designing mobile apps, communication tools, drafting proposal shell using adobe suite and all business and communication materials.
  • Contribute to the design, management, and implementation of all country office MIS projects.
  • Support web design, development, and management including regularly updating the website by adding resources, events, pages, announcements, etc.
  • Design content graphics and layout, including electronic newsletters, campaign graphics, infographics, fact sheets, and announcements.
  • Support the New Business team with graphic design on the technical proposals and other relevant materials.
  • Explore and develop spatial solutions using the full range of ArcGIS applications, maintaining complex geographic datasets, and performing regular GIS updates, editing and analysis.
  • Provide continued IT support to all staff with ensuring software and antivirus updates are current, managing and administering user accounts, etc.
  • Support workshop and meeting audio-video technology.
  • Contribute to definition of standards, best practices, and maintenance of applications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related course; Advanced Degree is an advantage.
  • 4 years of experience in providing technical support in a complex organization.
  • Knowledge and development experience of data integration services preferably Azure data factory or similar data orchestration & integration services in the cloud.
  • Proven expertise in Graphics Design using with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, specifically with mockups, web design and multimedia presentations.
  • Practical experience in web design, development, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
  • Familiarity with database technologies and web hosting tools.
  • Familiarity with common web and social tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social platform analytics).
  • Expertise in Microsoft operating systems and applications: 7, 10; Office 2013, 2016, 2019, Office 365.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, self-start, contribute under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience working in a non- governmental organization (NGO).

3.) Associate Director - Internal Control and Compliance

Job Overview

  • The Associate Director - Internal Control and Compliance will be responsible for initiating, developing, and managing the project’s compliance strategies including implementing a systematic approach to ensuring adherence to donor guidelines in procurement, human resources, financial management, environmental, communications and branding guidelines, gender and inclusion, program implementation and establishing compliance to regulatory standards in addition to internal and external policies.
  • S/he will also support organizational efforts in establishing and promoting best and ethical practices to detect and avert deviations from a donor and organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and advise on compliance-related issues as it relates to financial management, procurement, human resources, program implementation, subcontracts, and grants management to ensure adherence to USAID guidelines and Idmibok International’s operational procedures.
  • Support the development and review of the project budgets, forecasts, budget versus actuals, and ensure alignment with project activities and operational guidelines.
  • Work with the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure budgets are efficiently and effectively managed, allowing identification and follow-up of programming and potential spend out issues (e.g., under or overspends).
  • Execute financial, operational, and compliance audits in accordance with the organization’s internal audit program.
  • Report internal audit findings to appropriate management based on the results of regularly scheduled audits, non-scheduled audits, and at any time when issues need to be addressed by management.
  • Conduct follow-up reviews of financial, operational, or regulatory compliance deficiencies noted during audits.
  • Review the organization’s strategic risks and make recommendations to the Country Director, Director of Finance and Operations, Operations Excellence Advisor, and other managers and teams on how these should be managed.
  • Support grant management and build subgrantees capacity in Compliance and Governance.
  • Perform pre-award assessment and advise on funding mechanics.
  • Work with Finance and Operations to develop tools for tracking the budget and actual expenses.
  • Provide oversight on Contract vs. Grant; highlight the difference between fixed obligation and cost reimbursement.
  • Prepare and provide training to subgrantees on USG Funding Regulation (Cost Principle)
  • Ensure subgrantees meet FFATA and SAM registration requirements before any disbursement
  • Monitor the subgrantees budget and review the retirement
  • Build a compliance culture within the team and train employees on organizational policies, procedures and ensure compliance adherence.
  • Ensure that gender and inclusion are effectively integrated into Activity implementation.
  • Ensure that organizations conform to environmental laws, regulations, standards, guidelines and other requirements.
  • Ensure that the donor identity is used to mark all programs, public communications, and commodities and that there are no alterations, distortion, recreation, translation or misuse of the donor’s graphic symbol.
  • Ensure transparent and audit-ready operations and support finance, human resources, and procurement teams in preparation for donor audits.
  • Design and implement quality assurance systems across the project and Idmibok International as a whole including creating and deploying compliance protocols to consistently measure organizational effectiveness and compliance.
  • Advice on contractual and regulatory compliance matters to ensure contract compliance in accordance with agreed terms and conditions and draft client approval requests as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by country leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Advanced Degree in Finance/Procurement and Risk or a related field is preferred
  • Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), preferred.
  • 6 years minimum experience in compliance management or similar roles with experience in financial, grants and project management in an international development organization.
  • Proven experience on a USAID project with demonstrated understanding of USAID rules, regulations and contracting structures and policies.
  • Candidates with risk management certifications e.g., Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Certified Risk
  • Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) etc. are desired
  • Knowledge of project management procedures for planning and processing international development projects and for establishing plans, specifications, monitoring and management of development projects.
  • Excellent oral and written English communications skills.
  • Ability to travel within states and countries, as needed.
