1.) Transport Officer / Driver
Job Purpose:

The Transport Officer/Driver is expected to provide transportation services to assigned officials, perform dispatch duties and ensure maintenance of the fleet of vehicles of the institution.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Convey assigned officials, goods and equipment to and from designated destinations
• Play active role in coordinating the operation, maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilisation of all vehicles
• Register the movement of vehicles and maintain records on all vehicles of the institution
• Ensure compliance with the transport policy and undertake periodic checks to ascertain the road worthiness of all vehicles
• Keep vehicle fleet inventory in the facility and conduct periodic transport audit
• Dispatch official mails as appropriate
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the head of the institution

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• A minimum of a WASSCE Certificate
• A minimum of two (2) years working experience in transport management
• A professional level qualification or certification in auto mechanics
• A valid driver license not below ‘B’ class with driving experience of five (5) years or above
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills

2.) Multi-Media Technician
JOB PURPOSE:

• The Multimedia Technician shall be responsible for providing audio visual, web content management and general ICT support to the Project Secretariat.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with research and editorial teams to create and supervise web content, including marketing and communications deliverables.
• Responsible for video editing, motion graphics, audio editing & recording, colour grading, live stream video mixing.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems associated with computer hardware and software interrelationships/dependencies and ensure availability to system users.
• Compose headshots for the Project Secretariat’s marketing materials and publications, including website.
• Shoot the Project Secretariat’s events on location and material for marketing
• Evaluate the Project Secretariat’s emerging goals and make recommendations for the purchase of new equipment
• Provide guidance for subject matter experts in writing and presenting materials.
• Edit and apply style rules to content, and ensure compliance with disclosure and other policies.
• Provide content update in line with emerging goals, usability goals, and performance metrics.
• Perform other related duties as well as routine ICT administrative functions

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ICT or other related disciplines.
• Three (3) or more years of continuous and combined experience in web design and web content management; photography and video (post qualification experience)
• Skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Microsoft Office and other current applications
• Strong skills in modern video editing software.
• Strong understanding of photographic composition.
• Ability to differentiate between various audio, video, computer and network cables and connectors.
• Demonstrated web design and content management abilities

3.) Grant Writer / Development Officer
JOB PURPOSE

• The Grant Writer/Development Officer is responsible for the full range of fund development activities for the Project Secretariat. These activities include grant writing and reporting with private foundations, development partners, donors and corporate bodies.
• Specifically, this staff is responsible for writing proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects and submission of timely and accurate reports for grant funded activities.
• The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating and implementing the organisation’s annual fund raising activities.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead proposal development processes and proposal response team, serving as overall goal owner, ensuring timely and efficient submission of quality competitive proposals and working with teams of technical, field and management staff.
• Serve as primary proposal writer, drafting, editing, and ensuring final production of competitive proposal for submission to donor; use writing skills to transform technical content and conceptual design into polished final proposals that are responsive to donor guidelines.
• Assist with the design and implementation of resource mobilisation policies and procedures in line with contemporary practices.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database on current and potential donors, including their peculiar requirements and priorities for financial support.
• Undertake follow-ups on financial commitments using appropriately designed tracking system.
• Undertake targeted fundraising campaigns using appropriate fora.
• Maintain a strong relationship with funding partners through timely and transparent communication.
• Provide regular updates on grant and fundraising activities to the head of institution.
• Assist with other fundraising projects as may be required.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Master’s degree in Social Science, International Relation Studies, Communications or other related disciplines.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with grant writing.
• A track record of success in proposal development spanning diverse sponsors and/or agencies as well as the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
• Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
• Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
• Knowledge in ICT including Microsoft office suite

4.) Director

JOB PURPOSE

• The Director is responsible for the overall leadership of staff in the development and implementation of short and long term plans and policies, assembling, editing and eventual publication of peer reviewed articles for the Project. • The candidate will also be responsible for reporting on the activities of the Project Secretariat to national and international bodies. The candidate will be expected to have frequent engagements with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, the African Union Commission, authorities within AU Member States and African Universities in advancing the mission and strategic goals of the Project.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the administration of overall operation of the Project including the development, implementation and accomplishment of annual work plans; reviewing and evaluating the results of program activities, ensuring that continuing contractual obligations are being fulfilled and allocating resources for greater program effectiveness and efficiency.
• Responsible for the achievement of new strategic direction for the Project which embraces both local and continental strategic goals.
• Ensure coordination of Project’s activities in collaboration with other multi-lateral, continental, regional and national Pan African research institutions and partners.
• Liaise with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the African Union Commission to facilitate the formation of National Co-operating Committees (NCCs) in all AU Member States for fundraising and enlistment of scholars from the various research institutions and universities for scholarly contributions.
• Assist the Chairman of the Pan-African Scientific Committee and Advisory Board in setting strategic goals, and conduct negotiations regarding funding opportunities with relevant stakeholders.
• Represent the Project at all meetings, conferences or similar venues where the Project seeks to be recognized to advance its mission and strategic agenda.
• In partnership with the Board, provide leadership and direction in efforts to identify and secure donor and technical support for the Project’s programmes and initiatives.
• Responsible for collaboration with research and academic institutions in Africa and the African Diaspora for the provision of content as prescribed by the Pan African Scientific Committee.
• Responsible for logistics and support for all activities associated with the Board and Scientific Committee, including meeting schedules, locations, development of agenda, and materials for meetings.
• Perform any other functions in line with the mandate and objectives of the Project and as entrusted by the Board.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of Master’s degree in Social Science, Business, International Relations or other related fields
• A minimum of ten (10) years of continuous and combined experience in implementing a continental wide project and programme within governmental or inter-governmental agencies (post qualification experience).
• Proven track record in fund raising for scale-scale projects
• Expertise in planning, organizing including programmatic analyses, evaluation and policy development and implementation.
• Excellent skills to conceptualize, plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate programs.
• Clear understanding of the African landscape and a fair knowledge of operations of large continental institutions.
• Experience in the preparation of operational work-plans, operational guidelines and policies
• Demonstrable experience in supervising and leading teams and individuals, delegating tasks and authority
• Demonstrable ability to motivate people at all levels of an organisation with excellent communication, listening and judgement skills.
• Demonstrable knowledge in publishing.
• Excellent diplomatic, representational, interpersonal and communication skills including experience in interacting with senior level stakeholders and decision-makers in technical and governmental settings.
• Demonstrable computer skills knowledge and including excellent word-processing capabilities, proficiency with e-mail and internet applications, experience in using Microsoft office software programs such as MS Excel, Power Point and Word.
