1.) Fraud Analyst

 

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Department: Compliance & Risk

About the Fraud Analyst Role

  • We are looking for driven, passionate, and committed individuals to join the team as we grow and expand across Africa and beyond.
  • As a Fraud Analyst your primary responsibility will be to manage all facets of fraud detection and prevention for the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and track current fraud trends by reviewing transactions and account patterns.
  • Monitor Merchant transactions and accounts for potential fraudulent activities including identity theft, account take over, friendly fraud, and other identified risks
  • Work closely with internal functions including Disputes, Recoveries, Customer Service, and Compliance
  • Effectively communicate with appropriate authorities to resolve fraud concerns.
  • Daily collation, review, analysis and prompt resolution of all fraud related claims received from Card Schemes
  • Prompt and effective merchant engagement on all fraud related cases as it concerns them, for prompt resolution and feedback.
  • Prompt and effective response to banks on all fraud related cases as it concerns them, for prompt claim resolution and feedback. The team runs a 24-hour operation and weekend shifts.
  • Customer advisory service as it concerns fraudulent claims on the platforms and complaint handling and prompt resolution.
  • To support and ensure fraud cases are communicated to Relationship Managers respectfully for prompt resolution.

  • Planning, implementing, testing systems and preparing network security and fraud management standards, policies, and procedures to manage and minimize fraud risk,assisting businesses with implementing the 'best in class' tools & processes.
  • Fraud data collection and analysis. Also to work on prompt rendition of Risk Management reports.
  • Monitor and check compliance with all external Fraud regulatory guidelines across all business type, industry, national financial regulatory body (e.g. CBN) and other international governing bodies
  • Escalate fraud related litigation cases/enquiries for prompt resolution. Also work closely with the Legal team.

Required Competency and skillset to be a Waver

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in risk management, fraud investigation, chargeback representation, or law enforcement
  • One year of experience in the Retail Banking, Payment Processing, or work experience in law enforcement/investigations
  • Knowledge of card processing, payment fraud prevention/detection techniques, and/or On-line Fraud Management
  • Detail oriented with excellent research, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent PC and technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytic and problem -solving skills

2.) Risk Strategist

 

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Department: Compliance & Risk

The Role

  • Within the Risk team, as a Risk Strategist you will serve as the internal consultant to various cross functional teams including product, engineering, partnerships and growth on all topics related to risk and card network rules.
  • The ideal candidate will use their expertise in risk to advise on new product development, prioritization of market expansion, risk management strategies and establishing internal controls.
  • Risk Strategist will develop recommendations that ensure Flutterwave can move rapidly while managing risk in every aspect.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g. Product Managers, Engineering, Compliance, User Policy, Risk Partnerships, Legal, etc) to evaluate the development of new products and advise on the risk / fraud-related requirements and controls that need to be established to ensure Flutterwave manages product / transaction risk.
  • Establish the risk appetite for both individual products and across Flutterwave’s entire portfolio.
  • Lead ad hoc risk-related projects end-to-end to support market expansion, new products or risk management.
  • Be the internal expert on card network (Visa / Mastercard / Amex / Discover) rules and our acquiring or issuing bank contractual requirements.
  • Conduct research, analyze data and put forth recommendations and proposals that drive decisions on product, risk management and partnerships.
  • Take ownership of undefined bodies of work and create a structured process that allows Flutterwave to move fast in identifying and executing on opportunities.
  • Own the product risk assessment process for rollouts of new products or enhancements.
  • Influence risk / compliance product and engineering roadmaps.

3.) Risk Partnerships Manager

 

Location: Lekki, Lagos

The Role

  • The Risk Partnerships team at Flutterwave is primarily responsible for managing the risk and compliance function of our relationships with financial partners including acquiring banks, issuing banks, and card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover).
  • The team serves as the main point of contact with these partners on behalf of cross functional teams within Flutterwave in order to advocate for product and user needs that allow us to move rapidly to develop new products and expand the supportability of new user types.
  • Risk Partnership Managers will navigate complex negotiations with our partners while simultaneously driving stronger alignment with them on Flutterwave’s long term roadmap.

In this role you will:

  • Understand the acquiring bank, issuing bank and card network requirements that govern Flutterwave’s products.
  • Develop deep relationships with leadership at our financial partners and card networks to ensure long term alignment, reducing escalations.
  • Advocate for Flutterwave’s product and user needs with partners by negotiating terms of agreements, including restricted / prohibited business lists and applicability of network rules that are mis-aligned with regional needs of our users.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g. Product Managers, Engineering, Compliance, User Policy, Risk Strategy, and Legal) to resolve key contractual or network rule blockers in order to expand our product offering and diversity of user types.

4.) Front End Engineer

About the Front End Engineer Role

  • As a Front End Engineer, you will manage and seamlessly blend front-end and back-end web development.

5.) User Policy Strategist

The Role

  • The User Policy team at Flutterwave is responsible for assessing, developing and enforcing policies that govern the use of our products and services users, as well as, establishing internal decision making structures that enable us to ensure the integrity of our payments ecosystem.
  • User Policy Strategists will work with cross functional teams including product, engineering, risk strategy, risk partnerships, fraud, compliance, expansion and growth to define the the guardrails that ensures Flutterwave is setting the foundation for how digital payments are able to be used across the regions in which we operate.

Responsibilities
In this role you will:

  • Understand the financial partner, card network and regulatory requirements around each of Flutterwave’s products.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g. Product Managers, Engineering, Compliance, User Policy, Risk Partnerships, Legal, etc) to evaluate the user policy requirements of new products being developed.
  • Design policy frameworks for new or existing products, merchant categories, and users.
  • Evaluate existing terms of service to ensure they are aligned with our risk management strategies, controls, and partner requirements.
  • Think innovatively about undefined use cases around payments.
  • Determine internal policies around onboarding and offboarding of merchants or users.
  • Work with the Transaction Monitoring, compliance and fraud teams to ensure our policies translate into controls and operationalize enforcement processes.
  • Articulate to senior management the impact of the policies you developed to ensure alignment with leadership.
  • Resolve product or financial partner roadblocks through thoughtful policies that drive confidence in Flutterwave’s risk management function.
