Job Description

  • The purpose of the role is to support the Projects and Engineering Safety & Environment  Manager deliver strong safety leadership and HSSE & SP (Social Performance) expertise into SNEPCo P&E portfolio of projects for the achievement of top quartile performance and Goal Zero.
  • This role will support, coach, and challenge the SNEPCo Projects, Engineering and Construction team to deliver safe and affordable projects across the portfolio and be responsible for the development of all Shell HSSE & SP deliverables and inputs as per Shell P&T (Project and Technology) standards.
  • It will also support the provision of a world-class planning, execution and delivery of technical and operational Safety, Security, Environmental and Social Performance (SSE-SP) advice to the project throughout the life cycle. Support ALARP demonstration during design and champion an “Incident & Injury Free” program during project execution
  • The role will also support the Projects and Engineering SE Manager provide leadership in HSE MS functionality, HSE performance reporting, and Contractor HSE management in all SNEPCo Projects Engineering portfolio.

Principal Accountabilities
Supporting the integration of full suite of HSSE&SP support to the compendium of high risks activities in Projects and Engineering through:

  • Conduct HEMP studies (HAZID, SIMOPS, HAZOP, Risk Assessment of facilitation/review).
  • Review of Technical Safety Studies (fire and explosion studies, QRA, Life Saving Appliance, SCE Management, Operations HSE Case review/update, AIPSM reviews, ALARP Demonstrations etc.)
  • Participate in Design reviews, Construction/fabrication Safety (CSSS,IOGP 577) HSE Activity Plan development and implementation, Project Kick-off meetings, Project Starting Strong activities (Personnel readiness reviews, Premobilization, HSE workshops/Induction, Business Performance Review Inputs, Project HSE meetings, Project HSE data reporting and analysis, Site HSE Campaigns, Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) Projects, Design HSE Case
  • Oversea  Safe System of Work/PTW readiness including Audits, Drills, Management Facility Engagements and IOGP Life saving Rules Implementation
  • Drive continuous improvement through learning, training, and best practices.
  • Oversee contractor safety performance and verify compliance.
  • Conduct Management Facility Engagements, audits, and safety assurance activities.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Formal academic and professional qualifications in Engineering, or HSSE related discipline (e.g. Degree qualified with a Postgraduate and/or Professional qualification in HSSE). Professional HSE and Engineering Certification Preferred
  • 8 years’ relevant Upstream business experience (minimum), preferably including in major Projects
  • Support significant SE delivery on two or more major projects, covering Concept Selection through start up.
  • Deep knowledge of Project Delivery and very strong technical competence in Technical Safety.
  • Experienced in the delivery of the different elements of HSSE in a Projects environment and management of HSSE & SP risks particularly in Brownfield developments

Role Purpose
Perform and support all aspects of Reservoir Engineering in support of work program that would replenish SNEPCo Deepwater Asset production by executing rig workover and new drilling activities in the ADSSM DW team.  These activities include:

  • Implement the Post DG-3 Development activities that will increase and safeguard and optimize the asset production potential and long term ultimate recovery.
  • To apply scientific principles to understand and predict dynamic reservoir performance and generate production forecasts and resource volume estimates for new wells (pre/post drilling).
  • Estimate recoverable volumes and forecast for new opportunities
  • Ensure discipline input are captured in the well proposals
  • Support data acquisition (PVT, Cores and logs) and risk and uncertainty management
  • Support well and reservoir monitoring and management activities
  • Ensure compliant resource volume estimation & reporting

Accountabilities

  • Post DG3 Development activities, execution of rig workover and new drilling activities
  • Ensuring timely and integrated delivery with all other disciplines and stakeholders in the activities of the team, including wells, CWI, Regulator and partners
  • Application of appropriate (new) technologies, provide RE input to the activities such as Well Completion, intervention and workover etc;
  • Identify and lead execution of short-term and long-term oil and gas generating activities
  • Perform analyses to understand and predict dynamics of reservoirs for new opportunity. Document results on discipline specific issues.
  • Prepare and lead execution of proposals for reservoir data acquisition. Screen proposals from junior staff. Collect and interpret data and initiate follow-up activities.

Role Purpose

  • Provide full‑spectrum Production Technology (PT) support to the Bonga North Asset, covering WRFM, well integrity, ARPR, LTRO, and pre‑DG1 studies.
  • You will also contribute PT expertise to Erha/Erha North Asset (NOV) and support wider ADSSM Deepwater WRFM and hydrocarbon resource management activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver high‑quality Production Technology input across WRFM, ARPR, LTRO and resource maturation activities.
  • Support implementation of the WRFM processes including the Practice Table. Ensure that the global WRFM standards (including the Minimum Requirements) are implemented.
  • Promote the application of appropriate new technology and techniques in enhancing production potential and reducing locked in potential.
  • Plan and implement fit-for-purpose surveillance data acquisition, interpretation and management for production maximization and to meet statutory requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of production system optimization activities based on WRFM global processes and minimum standards, including building integrated models (IPSM).
  • Lead a structured review of wells (including closed-in wells) and reservoirs in the node to identify short term oil/gas generation opportunities or propose future use plan for the wells.
  • Monitor and participate in milestone QA/QCs in accordance to DCAF requirements and ensure that the relevant technical assurance is completed for all disciplines that participate in WRFM
  • Provide input to the resource volume and forecast data in the annual business plan, medium term and short-term activity plans.
  • Support SEC, NNS and PRCS‑compliant resource volume estimation and reporting.
  • Embed HSSE principles in all work activities.
  • Foster strong integration and maintain productive working relationships with other disciplines and partners
  • Provide strong leadership and effective coaching to team members to strengthen technical capability within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or Science.
  • Proven experience in completion design, artificial lift, sand control management, production enhancement & optimisation and well integrity management.
  • Proficiency with Production Technology Software such as WePS, Prosper, IPSM, FIST, Stim2001, SPOT, WellCat. Knowledge of PI, Production Universe, OFM is an advantage.
  • Strong experience preparing Production Technology input for WRFM, Well Integrity, well proposals (completion design, well operating envelope definition).
  • Familiarity with well delivery activities (drilling, recompletions and workovers).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, presentation skills, teamwork, and stakeholder management capability.
  • Ability to integrate technical information and assess project risks to support quality investment decisions.
  • Commitment to coaching team members and strengthening Production Technology capability.
