1.) Wells Engineer

Job Description
- The Staff Wells Engineer is responsible for Well Engineering front end well design & planning of Drilling, Completions, Intervention and Well Abandonment input to SNEPCo Deepwater projects in accordance with the eGWDP, Shell Wells Manuals, and Assurance Process.
- Collaboration with well operation team to deliver world -class performance by embedding Performance Improvement Plan (PIPs) during drilling operations, with the full integration of the asset and subsea teams. Preparation of detailed cost and time estimates, tracking of relevant metrics during job execution, after action reviews (AAR) documentation, well handover to completions and production, and developing subsequent improvement plans.
- Lead value creation events throughout the well delivery process to improve well design and implement new technologies as applicable. Utilizes available digital tools to facilitate workflow efficiencies throughout detailed design.
- Provide the Well Engineering front end input into concepts, opportunity framing, field development plans, and economics of projects and development opportunities.
- Integrate HSSE in the design, programming, and execution of well work related to drilling, completion, well intervention and well abandonment operations. Actively promote HSSE and Sustainable Development (SD) in all activities and ensure compliance with Shell business principles.
Principal Accountablities
- Carry out detailed technical well design using most current approved group standards and procedures and prepare well technical specifications documenting in detail, basis of the well design and the outcome.
- Develop well proposals and well execution programs for all well activities.
- Provide Well Engineering technical and operational skills, resources, and capabilities to create significant value in technical inputs into a major opportunity development.
- Provide Well Engineering input into field reviews (FRs), opportunity framing, field development plans and economics (FDPs), VARs etc.
- Represent WE viewpoint in technical reviews and challenges, out-of-the-box thinking, new ideas, evaluation of well concepts and models.
- Develop specifications and standards for HSE critical elements and technical uncertainties in well types, well concepts and technologies recommendations for opportunity. Identify upfront the "Right" well and optimum development option.
- Create and implement processes to ensure well engineering considerations and design criteria selected during the planning phase are employed during execution to mitigate value erosion of the identified savings.
- Ensure adherence to Management of Change (MOC) procedures in the event of program modifications.
- Shop Visits/Audits/Vendor Engagement with a Quality Assurance approach in line with Contract Management Teams and Productive Time Team.
- Prepare Long Lead Items (LLIs) for projects and track delivery.
- Lead incident investigations and Root Cause Failure Analysis: Work with all stakeholders and Vendors to close learnings and implement changes.
- Participate/Lead the After-Action Reviews to ensure all lessons learned are captured and shared from design/ planning and execution of operational activities, in line with the GWDP and input into the appropriate WEIS funnels.
- Leverage the wells global networking in the application of relevant new technology, and benchmarking to ensure continuous improvement in well delivery performance and overall cost optimization.
- Where necessary, assist C&P in developing technical justification for new contracts and contracting strategies.
- Join the Wells P&P team to develop wells cost estimates during business planning and presenting the estimates.
- Track value leakage and vendor performance throughout execution and feedback to the CMT for BPR and contract management.
Skills and Requirements
Technical skills:
- A graduate Degree in Engineering or Science, with a minimum of 7 years oil and gas drilling and completion experience, 5 of which must be in wells.
- Good Knowledge of Well Engineering design tools (e.g. Compass, Stress check, Well CAT, Well Plan, EDM. etc.) and understanding of the standard well delivery process.
- Demonstrate experience in well engineering front-end work and operations.
- Strong commitment to HSSE and Process Safety.
People Skills:
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to influence at all levels.
- Be responsible for own development and will execute an individual development plan agreed with supervisor.
- Ability to work and interface with different teams effectively.
- Good communication and presentation skills
Commercial Skills:

2.) Marine Engineer

Job Description
- The position is ideal for a dynamic, self-motivated marine engineer who enjoys challenges and wants to contribute to the safe operation of an offshore oil and gas development in Nigeria.
- The primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently maintain life-saving equipment, hull, main deck and utilities equipment, and understudy the Marine Supervisor in their daily activities.
- The candidate will also contribute to achieving technical integrity targets while operating the equipment within design limits, participate in the SNEPCo competence assurance scheme, and work towards predetermined competence levels.
- Key responsibilities include maintenance of all cargo loading and ballasting systems, cargo sampling and metering systems, Mooring Hawser and cargo hoses maintenance, and all general shipboard duties.
- The candidate will have the opportunity to apply their engineering expertise to support the safe operations of Bonga Marine field activities by diagnosing and reporting defective equipment and providing remedial solutions.

What is the Role?
- Establish and maintain a functional relationship with the Onshore Marine disciplines and safety function.
- Control expenditure and ensure that correct documentation is maintained for relevant contracts.

- Ensure that all the FPSO Hull machinery and equipment are working in efficient manner in order to support Bonga operations and Utilities.
- Carryout Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on rotating equipment, Utilities in the Hull and Main deck.
- Carryout frequent inspections of rotating equipment, Utilities (Essential & Emergency Generators, Sewage System, Fresh Water Generator, Cargo Pumps, Hydraulic Power Pack System, Fire Pumps, Deck Valves, OWS, Nakakita, HVAC & Equipment), Inert Gas Generator (IGG), Nitrogen Generator, Framo System, Life Saving Equipment (Life Boat, Life Jacket, Life raft)
- Support HSE Coordinator and Marine Officers by carrying out checks on all items used for pollution prevention (Dispersant, Boom & Absorbent e.t.c).
- Support Utility technician to restore machines and equipment in the Hull when required.
- Maintain a log and record books, which state the compliance of the system and running condition.
- Lifesaving and fire preventing equipment should be checked on regular basis for their operating condition. (Operating mechanism and linkages should be inspected and lubricated frequently)
- Ensure that proper operation and maintenance of fuel and lubricating oil and purifying equipment is carried out to minimize leakages.

Cargo Handling Systems:
- Oversee the operation of the inert gas generator to ensure a safe delivery and positive pressure regime in the cargo tanks at all times.
- Serve as the Permit to Work "Area Authority" for all marine systems, cranes, lifeboats and escape system facilities, cargo handling, and tank management systems.
- Act as the nominated deputy for the Asset Operator under the permit to work system.

Ballast Handling Systems:
- Ensure that ballasting and de-ballasting operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

Offtake Systems:
- Ensure that the SPM buoy operational readiness is always maintained, Inspect, test and support with the change out of offtake hoses and Mooring hawsers lines according to SNEPCO requirements.
- Ensure that the deployment, utilization, and recovery of offtake systems are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Ensure sufficient spares of offtake equipment is available to minimize downtime in case of component failure.
Tank Management:
- Ensure tank atmosphere monitoring equipment are available and functioning.
- Supervise all tank cleaning activities.
- Supervise all tank entries.
Safety management system and safety case:
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance of the Safety Case and implementing the Safety Management System/SEAM standard on the installation.

What We Need from You?
- Valid Chief Engineer Unlimited Certificate of Competency. Second Engineer Unlimited certificate may be acceptable subject to relevant experience.
- An Engineering Degree in Marine, Mechanical or Electrical Discipline is an added advantage
- A minimum of 10 years sea time preferably on FPSO/FSO/Crude Oil tankers including VLCCs.
- Experience in the operation of a crude oil terminal and Single Point Mooring buoys would be an advantage.
- Competency in the management of major emergencies and permit to work and work management systems is required.
- A sound knowledge of the Corporate S&E procedures and Terminal working practices in handling of crude oil and ballast systems including the use of associated safety systems, and hands-on experience with submerged FRAMO pumping systems and inert gas generators is essential.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Goal Zero, HSE & E&C: Support the achievement of Goal Zero Targets: Zero Incidents, Accidents, Spills, Ethics & Compliance breaches. Conduct site visits and complete UA/UC reports and close out actions.
- Maintenance Systems Management, Technical Assurance Support, Field Instrumentation Maintenance & Technical Support:
- Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on field instrumentation —pressure/temperature/flow/level transmitters, switches, sensors, analyzers, and control valves etc.
- Perform calibration, loop testing/checks, functional tests, and configuration of instruments according to OEM standards.
- Troubleshoot complex instrument faults, signal failures, wiring issues and control loop abnormalities to restore equipment functionality.
- Ensure accurate update of maintenance activities, calibration records, and job close-out in the CMMS.

Process Automation & Control Support:

- Carry out backup/restore routines, download changes, and support advanced configuration updates on the engineering workstation.

- Ensure DELTAV documentation is updated following system changes.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement:
- Provide feedback on recurring failures and assist in basic root cause analysis (RCA) activities.

Experience:
- 5–8 years’ experience in instrumentation and control maintenance or operations.
- Demonstrated expertise with Emerson DELTAV, including operations and maintenance (must be strong hands-on)
Technical Skills:
- Strong skills in process control systems and automation.
- Proficiency in DELTAV DCS hardware/software, including troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.
