What You'll Do

The Data & Analytics Engineer will help build and maintain the systems that collect, organise and prepare company data for reporting, business intelligence and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with analysts, actuaries and business teams to identify reporting requirements.
  • Supporting business intelligence solutions involving SSRS, SSIS and SSAS.
  • Developing machine learning models for predictive analytics and providing structured data to support AI systems.

How to Successfully Apply for Jobs at AIICO Insurance Plc

Tailor your CV to the position rather than sending the same application for both vacancies.

For the Data & Analytics Engineer role, prioritise data pipelines, SQL, Python, data modelling, ETL/ELT, automation, data quality and engineering tools.

For the Data Analyst role, emphasise SQL, Power BI, dashboard development, data validation, reporting, KPI analysis and communication of business insights.

Use measurable achievements wherever possible. For example, explain how you improved reporting accuracy, automated a recurring process or helped a team identify a performance issue. Include figures only when they are accurate and can be explained during an interview.

Keep your CV clear and relevant, and ensure that your qualifications, employment dates and contact details are correct. Review the vacancy requirements before submitting your application.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying for the engineering role without demonstrating relevant technical experience.
  • Sending a generic CV that fails to highlight the required skills.
  • Listing SQL, Python or Power BI without providing evidence of practical use.
  • Focusing only on tools instead of explaining the business problems you solved.
  • Ignoring the distinction between the two roles' experience requirements.
  • Waiting until the closing date to submit an application.
