Duties

  • Under the general direction of the Information Systems Officer. The incumbent assists the Information Systems Center with managing and administering the embassy's OpenNet network, Classified network, secure voice and data processing equipment.
  • Assist with the Diplomatic Pouch and mail operations. Maintain COMSEC accountability.
  • The incumbent will be assigned special projects supporting Mission needs. Position will require Top Security clearance.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements
Experience:

  • Two years of computer-related working experience is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Information Technology systems, functions, personnel, and practices of the Consulate and its associated agencies.
  • Must understand network and computer systems and basic electronics.
  • Must be familiar with all industry standard tools, test equipment, and procedures for running cables, terminating cables, installing patch panels, installing workstations, servers, printers and other peripherals.




Education Requirements:

  • Completion of university studies is required.

Evaluations:

Language:

  • Level IV speaking/reading English is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven technical skills in troubleshooting and resolving Information Technology and Communications hardware and software issues is essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills are required.
  • Keyboard skills that include a good working speed is required.

  • Minimum of three years experience in the repair and maintenance of building assemblies, furnishings and fixture operations.

Job Knowledge:

  • Testing procedures in control assembly tolerances, diagnose faults, determine current operating function to the design requirements, all in accordance with U.S. and Nigeria regulations.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the maintenance or construction field performing repair work or in the field of occupational safety, to include work experience as a construction supervisor or quality control assurance inspector with experience in managing people and resources is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of  Safety, Health and Environmental Management (SHEM) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and required practices and procedures, general specialist knowledge of environmental safety standards.

Education Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary studies at the College/University level or Vocational/Trade School training in facilities management, environmental safety, construction, engineering, or architecture is required.

Job holder carries out preventive maintenance, repair, installation, modification, trouble-shooting, overhaul, testing adjustment and calibration of various diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, fuel tanks, batteries and chargers, transformers and associated mechanical and electrical systems. Incumbent receives written or verbal requests for maintenance services and ascertains all of the information to determine whether the work is of a routine or emergency nature.

Requirements
Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in generator trouble-shooting, repairing and installation is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Must possess job knowledge to include general computer literacy. Knowledge of normal, diesel engines, electrical alternators, complete preventive maintenance procedures is required.

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School or Technical Training College and three (3) years of journey man knowledge in maintenance and repair of standby generator and/or uninterrupted power supply systems is required.

Evaluations:

  • This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.




Language:

  • Level III reading/speaking/writing in English is required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must hold a valid Nigeria driver's license.
  • Ability to use measurement tools needed to lay out and cut shaped, threaded, and joined materials is required.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, or parts with a maximum weight of 25 kilos as well as climb ladders to reach equipment platforms and roofs of buildings to access control panels is required.
  • Ability to operate forklifts for lifting or moving of generators, diesel tanks and other heavy items related to the job is required.
