1.) Finance Volunteer

Job Title: Finance Volunteer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • The Finance Volunteer will assist with the processing of financial transactions.
  • Ensure that financial transactions and reconciliations are processed in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure financial reports are timely provided according to financial guidelines.
  • Maintain financial records and monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances, payments, statements, and other data for day-to-day transactions and reports.
  • Select and enter data from a wide variety of documents, verifying accuracy by checking sources, making necessary calculations, and assuring the inclusion of all relevant data.
  • Advice and assist staff members on all aspects of travel claims and other financial matters, calculate and paid after authorization of due for claims and services.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess an HND or BSc in relevant fields with 1 - 2 years work experience.

Benefits

  • The compensation for this position: It is a fixed fee of Fifty Thousand Naira (NGN 50,000) only per month, which will be prorated to the number of days worked and subject to statutory deductions.

2.) Communication Volunteer / Associate

Job Title: Communication Volunteer / Associate

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and effectively communicating project success by developing success stories, case studies, and short documentaries.
  • Update and maintain WEWE’s website, social media platforms, and blogs.
  • Engage with mainstream media (Electronic and Print) to increase WEWE’s visibility and promote project impact.
  • Edit technical and scientific documents and articles (proofreading, copying, designing, line editing, and substantive editing).
  • Desktop design and layout of technical documents in compliance with donor branding and marking requirements.
  • Coordinate Outreach and events with experience in developing press releases, media coverage, press fact sheets, developing scene setters, liaise with US Embassy public affairs units, and managing print, radio, and TV media relation journalists and website information management.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, prepare agendas and take minutes of meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree or HND with 2-4 years experience

Remuneration

3.) Project Driver

Job Title: Project Driver

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Drive project vehicle for official duties or as requested by management.
  • Ensure timely conveyance of staff for official duties as instructed by supervisor.
  • Ensure punctuality and safe driving practices are adhered to according to WEWE and donor standards and regulations to both staff and guests.
  • Ensure that project vehicles are strictly used for official duties.
  • Ensure you do not pick up any non-staff on the road irrespective of your relationship.
  • Ensure you do not pick staff for personal outings.
  • Ensure staff obtain approval from administration before vehicle is taken out, this means signing of vehicle movement slip.
  • Ensure that the project vehicle is always cleaned and maintained
  • Work with the mechanic to ensure that project vehicle is serviced as at when due.
  • Ensure that seat belt is used by all in the vehicle before commencement of trips.
  • Ensure that you do not consume alcohol while on duty or shortly before duty.
  • Ensure that you do not make phone calls while driving, alternatively, drivers should use hands-free or blue tooth to answer calls.
  • Ensure that you leave your phone on always.
  • Assist admin in picking up official documents from courier services.
  • Assist admin in project vehicle paper renewal.
  • Ensure project vehicles are re-fuelled after 75% is utilized.
  • Do not empty the tank before re-fuelling
  • Ensure pre and post fuel check every day
  • Ensure fuel purchase ticket is properly filled and signed
  • Ensure vehicle log book is signed
  • Ensure project vehicles are functional by servicing regularly to avoid engine break down and ensure vehicle is kept secure, clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of WAEC / SSCE is required
  • Trade Test in Driving & Mechanic (FED. MIN. OF LABOUR & PRODUCTIVITY)
  • Highway code and other trainings attended
  • Valid Driver’s License/Competence Technical Certificate
  • Minimum of 1 year’ cognitive experience
  • Good knowledge of computer skills
  • Ability to understand and follow road safety, security procedures and road signs

4.) Legal Officer (Trainee)

Job Title: Legal Officer (Trainee)

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  • S/he will provide in-house legal advisory services; compliance and risk mitigation support services through the assessment and development of effective corporate/legal structure.
    S/he will serve as a Liaison between WEWE Management and the WEWE Board of Trustees.
  • S/he will be responsible for all communications and correspondences between WEWE and the Board of Trustees as well as carry out such tasks as may be assigned by the WEWE Board of Trustees.
  • S/he will manage WEWE’s Litigation Portfolio and liaise with external solicitors to defend the interests of WEWE.
  • S/he will provide legal advisory services to WEWE Management and develop legal strategies to defend the interests of WEWE.
  • S/he will conduct legal risk analyses and evaluations of WEWE activities, documentation, and commitments and suggest risk mitigation strategies.
  • S/he will be accountable for taking day-to-day legal responsibilities and providing legal advice that includes all the aspects of the analysis, investigation, and drafting process.
  • S/he will be engaged in helping to analyze and collect evidence and schedule staff hearings.
  • S/he will conduct legal analysis and research on any legal matters of the organization.
  • S/he will provide advice on different legal issues and assist in drafting legal opinions, memoranda, and other related documents.
  • S/he will be actively involved in preparing and drafting different acts and legal submissions and drafting authoritative legal opinions as well.
  • S/he will conduct legal research by utilizing various resources and selecting the relevant material to analyze the legal information.
  • S/he will assist in reviewing the legal material and any other relevant documents and to identify the most important issues that need to be sorted out on a priority basis
  • S/he will be responsible for providing high-quality advice to the organization or the client on major legal issues and problems.
  • S/he will provide much-needed legal assistance while dealing with some particular legal tasks, litigations, contracts, and dispute resolution and guide the organization in taking an appropriate decision.
  • S/he will advise whether all the proceedings of the organization are in compliance with the requirements of the legislation.
  • S/he will supervise, analyzes, and researches the implication of laws, legislation, etc., that may affect the organization.
  • S/he will advise the organization so that there is minimum legal exposure and liability.
  • S/he must maintain confidentiality.
  • S/he will perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

5.) Senior Finance Officer

Job Title: Senior Finance Officer

Requirements

  • Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting with at least 5 years experience
  • Must possess a Second Class Upper / Upper Credit
  • Candidates with ICAN or ACCA qualification or its equivalent is preferred
  • Additional professional certifications or a post graduate qualification is an added advantage

6.) Culinary Chef

Job Title: Culinary Chef

Job Description

  • S/he will be responsible for preparing, and presentation of meals and dishes in ways that suit the requirements or orders that are placed by staff.
  • The Chef will be specializes in the preparation of specific meals like salads, desserts, and pastries for staff and meetings
  • The chef determines the quantity of food that will be needed within a particular time frame.
  • S/he will also makes adjustments to the menu based on the availability of food items or the current season.
  • S/he will regularly clean and sanitize work equipment like fryers and various kitchen surfaces.
  • S/he will be willing to work at odd hours, like very early in the morning to prepare meals for the day, and to clean-up after the day’s work.
  • S/he will makes sure that the kitchen is well-organized at all times.
  • S/he will ensure that food is prepared as fast as possible and that a standard taste-level is maintained.
  • S/he will maintains records, places necessary orders, and makes sure that food safety standards are adhered to.

  • The chef will always initiate new ideas either in cooking methods or in service delivery.
