  • Under the direct supervision of Marine Gunny, incumbent operates  a variety of armored and non-armored motor vehicles to transport Mission personnel, including VIP visitors, TDY staff delegations and field trips.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance. cleaning of vehicle and completes trip ticket to notate each trip taken on their shift, including mileage, fuel, condition of vehicle, and passenger details. Incumbent may be required to drive Chief of Mission, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General. The position is not a supervisory position.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years professional driving experience is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of Abuja and other Nigeria cities is required. Must have knowledge automotive, Mechanical, safety and maintenance practices i.e.. checking fluids and tire pressure.
  • Must be familiar with local traffic patterns, a and locations of various government offices.

Evaluations:

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:

  • Completion of High School in addition to two (2) years of apprenticeship or an advanced equivalent local level of occupational training as Technician, Electrician or Mechanic is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on field experience in major repairs and installation of electrical and heavy-duty mechanical equipment, CCTV, public address, AVBCS, reading and interpreting architectural and engineering design drawings is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in installing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems is required; hydraulic and/or pneumatic equipment; in working with different types of steel, concrete and masonry wall construction, anchors and bolts is required.

Duties

  • This position provides semi-skilled assistance to the technical level positions by performing general maintenance and upkeep work at the U.S. Embassy compound buildings, residences and grounds.
  • Responsibilities include the performance of non-skilled manual tasks such as demolition work, painting, minor plumbing work, general cleanup of common areas, minor masonry work to include filling gaps on walls, laying of bricks, repairing and/or installing locks and other minor preventative maintenance tasks.
  • This position would assist other Facility Management trades positions such as the Electrical Maintenance Worker, HVAC Maintenance Worker, or the Carpentry Maintenance Worker.
  • Incumbent performs preventive maintenance by inspecting, adjusting and troubleshooting minor plumbing systems and fixtures, welding equipment and supplies, safety equipment, concrete and masonry walls, floor and ceiling assemblies, and other items upon coordinating with other trades.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School is required and completion of Vocational Training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in the general construction fields is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of plumbing and commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Maintenance and repair of standard plumbing methods and techniques including potable water and sewage systems, motor starters, thermostats, humidistats, variable frequency drive (VFD) motors and controllers, gravity dampers, sensors, furnaces, hydronic systems, hot water heaters and heat pumps, evaporators and and condensers is required.
  • Minor component replacement of motors, valves, pumps, controls and recording instruments is required.
  • Plumbing system testing procedures in control devices to monitor, diagnose faults, determine current operating capacity to the design requirements, all in accordance with US and host country regulations is required.

  • Assists with training, presentation, various Human Resources programs and performs assigned administrative duties, including maintenance of subject files, ordering office supplies.

Education Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of general college studies is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources field or general office administration work is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, and Internet) is required.
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills to manage in-person and telephone contacts.
  • Must be organized, diligent and able to work under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal relationships are required.
