Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) is recruiting to fill the following positions:

1.) Graduate PPM Post Installation Team Officer
2.) Field Monitoring Specialist
3.) Backend Analyst
4.) Geographic Information Systems Officer

 

Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) - Buoyed by a mission to redefine customer experience and be the provider of choice wherever energy is consumed, the Ikeja Electric (IE), Nigeria's largest power distribution network, came into existence on November 1st, 2013 following the handover of the defunct Power Holding Company Of Nigeria (PHCN) to NEDC/ KEPCO Consortium under the privatization scheme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

1.) Graduate PPM Post Installation Team Officer

 

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full time
Reporting To: PPM Post Installation Team Supervisor

Role Purpose

  • This role is responsible for assisting BU PPM Post Installation Supervisor in the post metering faulty resolution in the respective Business Units.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all NMD customer post metering activities for the Business Unit
  • Part responsibility for commercial loss reduction initiatives for the respective BU
  • Investigation of customer metering complaints assigned and providing technical comments on various investigations.
  • Ensure the resolution of all technical and non-technical issues relating to the customer metering/complaint within 72 hours of escalation
  • Ensure adequate accountability of used seals deployed to the Business Unit.
  • Overall responsibility and control for the quality of metering infrastructure.
  • Periodic customer meter re-certification and validation for energy accuracy.
  • Daily activity & performance reporting.
  • Verification and authentication of customer account number.
  • Reconfirmation of customer request for new customer service/load change/name change/address change applications for the respective BU
  • Comply with Quality Management System / Occupation Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Head or Head of Department.




Minimum Qualifications

  • First Degree in Social Science / Engineering
  • Requires 0-2 years post qualification experience.

2.) Field Monitoring Specialist

 

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full time
Reporting To: Platform Analysis & Monitoring Lead

Role Purpose

  • This role is responsible for assisting the platform and Analysis lead in monitoring and maintaining MD/NMD meters in the network for optimal remote reading and data collation for strategic analysis and investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field activities and provide analytical report on status of MD/NMD AMR/AMI meters.
  • Coordinate with IT in fixing the communication issue of AMI meters in the network.
  • Coordinate the configuration and setup of all meters on the platform.
  • Manage the modification of MD customer information on CIS to new AMI/AMR meter for remote reading.
  • Reprogram meter to correct CT/VT rating on AMR meters to remove the occurrence of multiplying factor in billing.
  • Coordinate analysis of energy consumption for discrepancies and energy losses.
  • Coordinate with Revenue Optimization and Monitoring unit on accurate back billing and revenue loss calculation.
  • Report monthly on identified cases of meter tampering/energy theft for maintenance.
  • Spool from the MS/TMR server of online/offline customers monthly.
  • Prompt setup of installed DTs, Feeders, LVMD and HVMD on CIS/TMR.
  • Proper account maintenance of customer information on TMR.
  • Coordinate with Energy Audit and Undertaking staffs in maintenance of DT meters.
  • Coordinate with Power Allocation Team in measuring supply availability on feeders meters via TMR.
  • Remote compilation of AMR/AMI meters for billing to MDMM engineers.
  • Issue seal to user department/unit for field operations.
  • Generate monthly report on disbursement of seal to the relevant departments/units.
  • Coordinate quarterly stock taking of various seals and sim in the store.
  • Drive team performance and compliance.
  • Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.




Minimum Qualifications

  • This role requires a First Degree in Engineering or Social Science
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with advanced/ extensive knowledge of principles and complex techniques gained through broad experience.

3.) Backend Analyst

 

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full time
Reporting To: Backend Monitoring Specialist

Role Purpose

  • This role is responsible for assisting specialist backend monitoring in monitoring all communication on meters in the network.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical report on status of MD/NMD AMR/AMI meters.

  • Proper account maintenance of customer information on TMR.
  • Coordinating with Power Allocation Team in measuring supply availability on feeders meters via TMR.
  • Remote compilation of AMR/AMI meters for billing for MDMM engineers.
  • Comply with Quality Management System/Operational Health & System requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • This role requires a First Degree or its equivalent diploma qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.

4.) Geographic Information Systems Officer

 

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full time

Role Purpose

  • This role is responsible for designing, implementing, customizing and maintaining Utility (electricity) specific GIS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality control with regard to discipline specific in-house data capture (data conversion), the evaluation of data acquired from the field and network database construction.
  • Develop, maintain and update the Business Unit GIS databases for planning, monitoring and decision-making purposes.
  • Manipulate GIS data to create information products to meet electricity distribution and marketing needs.
  • Develop and apply GIS analysis solutions to meet the overall business needs.
  • Serve as the GIS technical lead and point of contact on GIS and related matters at the BU level.
  • Capture GIS data in different formats using GPS, electronic data recorders, digitizers, and other means.
  • Download, convert and upload GIS data available from internal and external sources to make them user-friendly.
  • Catalog and inventory of GIS data, including metadata creation.
  • Input, update and maintain GIS databases, including backups and also maintaining linkages to other databases.
  • Perform GIS spatial analyses.
  • Capture and update network data as regards new or previously uncaptured customers, network components and so on.
  • Create map layouts and views and generate maps and reports.
  • Develop new applications and train others in the use of these applications.
  • Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.
  • Assist in Carry out any other duties as requested by the Head of Department.




Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geographical Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • 0 - 2 years experience desirable in basic GIS and Windows operations, internet mapping technology, and implementing an enterprise GIS
