1.) Metering & Main Inspection Officer

Job Title: Metering & Main Inspcetion Officer

Location: Ogun

Job Description

  • To act as supporting field contact in carrying out technical evaluations, meter installation, inspection and customer field support with regards to metering issues within the Business Hubs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts visual inspections on mains point of customer premises.
  • Inspects service entrance equipment for correct applications, proper wiring, grounding, equipment configuration and compliance with company requirements.
  • Carries out technical evaluations of customer premises in preparation for metering activities.
  • Carries out inspection of installed meters for certification by the Meter Standard and Installation Officer.
  • Assist in providing first hand support to customers with regards to metering Operations.
  • Any other task as may be assigned by the Head, Metering.

2.) Lead, Technical Loss Reduction

Job Title: Lead, Technical Loss Reduction

Job Description

  • This job holder develops standard distribution network design to ensure an efficient and sustainable distribution system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure IBEDC network is model with available power system modelling software and continuous updating, as it may be required.
  • Carry out various distribution network analysis using power system modelling tools/software to determine the Technical loss.
  • Carry out Load flow studies of IBEDC distribution network in order to improve the distribution network reliability and reduce the technical loss.
  • Weekly update of Technical Loss at all voltage levels and ensure improvement measures are in place.
  • Monthly update of technical losses at all voltage levels and ensure improvement measures are in place.
  • Develops standard distribution network designs suitable for new and existing network optimization projects to ensure technical loss reduction, safety, regulatory compliance and economic sustainability.
  • Evaluates design details: Equipment sizing/specifications.
  • Analyzes technical issues and suggest corrective actions.
  • Perform any other duty as may be directed by the Head, NA

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering power systems option; A postgraduate qualification in power systems engineering or management fields is an added advantage.
  • Possession of certifications in Engineering is required; Membership of a professional body is required e.g. NSE, COREN.
  • At least 7+ years’ experience in the utilities industry especially in areas of distribution system planning to include system analysis and planning methods, project coordination, etc. At least 3+ years in a supervisory role is required.

3.) Regional Compliance Officer

Job Description

  • This job role ensures that policies and procedures of the company are replicated and implemented at the region, while ensuring enforcement through constant monitoring of operations to improve bottom-line.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate internal control efficiency and effectiveness in the region.
  • Implement the compliance framework for all operations by ensuring that there are policies, processes, procedures required to maximize corporate goals.
  • Conducts Investigations, identify potential business risks and act on matters in the region related to compliance issues. Ensure compliance with approved processes and procedures of commercial operations activities in the region.

  • Ensuring that expenses are wholly, reasonably, exclusively and necessarily incurred for the affairs of the region. Ensuring compliance with the company’s HSE policy, which is required in safeguarding the company’s assets.
  • Ensure compliance with the committed hours of services on each feeder as specified by the SRT methodology with adequate documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with Meter Book Policy. Prepare periodic and AD-HOC reports to Lead, Operational Standards.
  • Carry out any other duty as directed by the Lead, Operational Standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any numerate related degree.
  • At least 4 years of practical experience from related sector/ organization with demonstrable understanding of providing solutions to business challenges and Operational Compliance.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies.
  • Possession of relevant certifications is an added advantage. (CFSA), (CQA), (ISACA).

4.) Lead, Operational Standards

  • This job role is to monitor and enforce compliance with all SOPs, policies and procedures for operational efficiency and increase in bottom line.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and review compliance framework for all IBEDCs operations.
  • Implement the compliance framework for all operations by ensuring that there are policies, processes, procedures required to maximize corporate goals.
  • Coordinates the activities of all Regional Compliance and Enforcement officers.
  • Ensures communication of approved ethics compliance manual to all staff through their line managers.
  • Assist in driving the culture of compliance for IBEDC in line with approved policies.
  • Conduct periodic compliance assessments of the Company’s adherence to laws, regulations, orders, policies and processes.
  • Maintain and update the corporate governance page of the IBEDC external website.
  • Track all issues referred to Operational Compliance up to and including resolution.
  • Monitor rendering of all mandatory regulatory returns by IBEDC and ensure that  respective departments sends them.

5.) Regional Safety Supervisor

Job Description

  • This job role is to implement processes and procedures that will ensure a safe working environment for all IBEDC stakeholders thereby improving workers’ productivity, loss reduction and improve company’s brand image at large in line with the business objective region-wide.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the implementation of IBEDC’s health and safety policies, procedures, processes and plans.
  • Regional monitoring of compliance with health and safety policies, guideline.
  • Manage Regional health and safety risk; evaluates, recommend risk control and mitigation measures.
  • Creatively promote positive Health and Safety culture within the Region, Business Hubs and Service Units.
  • Coordinate all health and safety loss prevention programs, such as accident prevention plan, job hazard analysis workshop, trainings, inspection and audit programs.
  • Carryout minor accident and Near miss investigations to establish the Root Cause of occurrence, recommend remedial measures to avoid recurrence and draw learning points to sensitize staff against such.
  • Trending and data analysis of Business Hubs/Service Units for escalation where the need arises.
  • Prepares periodic and ad-hoc health and safety reports in accordance with relevant stipulations/guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to standards and regulations by incorporating relevant occupational health safety and environmental legislations in IBEDC’s operation / activities region-wide.
  • Organise promotional programs pertaining to Federal, State and Local safety & environmental regulations.
  • Ensure close out of all recommendations for non-conformances (Near miss & accident investigations, inspections, Audit, regulatory e. t. c) to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage the storage, reuse, recycle & disposal of residual and hazardous wastes.
  • Implement process and product safety standard that will eliminate or reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
  • Carry out other sundry assignments that may be assigned by the head of the section or division.

Job Requirements

  • A First Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or any related discipline.
  • A Postgraduate Degree in any related discipline is an added advantage.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies. (ISPON); (BCSP); (ISHM).
  • 5 years experience in the HSE field within a relevant industry (Utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications etc.)
