1.) General Manager (Waste Management)

Job Title: General Manager (Waste Management)

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

  • The General Manager will generally oversee the development, implementation and processes as well as maintenance of the entire plant operations, business development and production.
  • The purpose of this position is to ensure optimization and the efficiency of the plant.
  • Overseeing all the technical and general operations of all business interests including, but not limited to the technical assets, repairs, upgrades plant facilities, process areas and controls, and utilities regulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general leadership with our consultants, clients, and the and all stakeholders.
  • Review / Approve operational and technical SOPs.
  • Practice effective project management skills in leading new projects that the business will embark on.
  • Track progress towards goals, using program metrics, and budget spending to ensure achievement of goals within funding guidelines
  • Mentor team members in achieving various task or assignments.
  • Partners - often in a billable capacity within an engagement
  • Identify opportunities for automation by leveraging the latest software and digital technologies.
  • Manage capital project budgets. Ensure projects are completed within budget and on time and communicate project status and significant milestones to senior executives.
  • Liaise with Apex Human Capital Team in Ghana to ensure the right technical skills sets are hired for all technical positions.
  • Coordinates and communicates with other managers to leverage resources and discuss solutions to matters of significance.
  • Develops and implements processes for leveraging and using resources to meet customer needs.

Job Specification
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • An MBA or post graduate qualification.
  • Member of a recognized professional body (Institute of Engineers or a senior level Project Management certification) - preferred

Technical and Skills Requirements:

  • 10+ years in management or supervisory experience, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in financial management
  • Proven track record in managing large capital projects
  • Responsible for promoting an efficient work environment with a key focus on the employee’s own safety and the safety of others and ensure that company and governmental rules and regulations are applied and followed.
  • Ensures the performance of root cause analysis for failures of equipment and system problems and recommend changes to Operations by modifying daily operation as needed to improved product quality, throughput or reliability.
  • Experience in the management of staff and general resource and role scheduling
  • Ability to perform quickly and effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all categories of employees
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent leadership communication and negotiation skills with strong emotional maturity.
  • Serve as the representative legal entity for any strategic partnership or Joint Venture JV within the Waste Sector.

2.) International Business Development Executive

Job Title: International Business Development Executive

Location: Lagos

Role Purpose

  • The International Business Development Executive (IBDE) will seek to define and deliver opportunities for the Group by establishing and developing new business opportunities with international partners and/or clients.

Key Responsibilities
Business Generation:

  • Prepare sales plans and support alignment of marketing plans in conjunction with the Group Office.
  • Generate, develop and respond to business leads.
  • Research and qualify new and existing customer needs
  • Support organization's international business growth by visiting and liaising with prospective and existing customers
  • Evaluate and prioritize business opportunities to maximize the Group’s business growth by extending the customer base and increasing sales of multiple products.
  • Identify future requirements of customers, and advise internal departments to enable the Group to source and provide appropriate professional and profitable end to end solutions.
  • Provide detailed research and mapping information on client requirements and operate in a timely manner to hand-over to the appropriate departments.
  • Ensure existing and potential customer client base is monitored and account managed.

Strategy and Policy Development:

  • Develop an International Business Development Policy that is aligned with the corporate business strategy.
  • Develop an International Business Development Strategy with an accompanying budget.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work plan, operating manuals.
  • Drive the group’s international business development strategy.

Business Development:

  • Work with business development teams to develop leads and opportunities.
  • Profile and target new international business opportunities from which to develop new revenue streams for the Group
  • Assist with the development of a marketing calendar to support and drive the group’s international business strategy.
  • Identify critical changes in the competitive landscape, global marketplace and external business environment that will impact the group’s business
  • Identify new areas for market expansions.

International Business:

  • Develop an extensive business development strategy to grow International business.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide insight into operationalizing and supporting the  Group in new markets.

Financial Management:

  • Develop an International Business Development budget, achieve annual marketing objectives, and report periodically to the APEX executive management.

Market Research:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to qualify developing business opportunities; leverage industry contacts for strategic intelligence; and assess the viability of potential international business partnerships or project opportunities

Information and Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on marketing operations/activities or any other report(s) related to job function.

Corporate Communications:

  • Liaise with the Group Corporate communications team to prepare business development presentations and proposals tailored to the audience.
  • Tracks prospects and provides ongoing feedback to the  Group Office via weekly and monthly reporting processes and meetings

Other Assignments:

  • You may be assigned other duties by the Apex Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Executive Chairman.

Requirements
Education:

  • MA, MSc. or MBA in Marketing, economics, commerce, or related field required
  • CIM UK Qualification (Professional Chartered Marketer)
  • DBA/PHD in Marketing would be an added advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum of Ten (10) years’ experience in various aspects of business development with a proven track record in brands and sales management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous evidence and adapt effectively to changing circumstances
  • Proven track record in Marketing Training, Coaching and Mentoring
  • Proven track record in handling International Business Development projects and assignments
  • Experience in a similar role in a leading multi-national company for a period not less than 5 years.

3.) Office Manager (Waste Management)

Job Title: Office Manager (Waste Management)

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The Office Manager will be responsible for performing a range of administrative tasks to support daily operations in our Lagos business.
  • Your duties may include general support for all group executives in the Process Cluster Secretariat.

General Duties

  • Professionally overseeing administrative tasks such as setting up office for Nigeria projects for the respective subsidiaries
  • Assist in business registration processes, bank accounts opening and guide all statutory regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate documentations and files
  • To be in charge of grounds welcome visitors/logistics to the secretariat.
  • Lead in local project staff recruitments.
  • In charges of organizing training venue/schedule for the secretariat.
  • Travel arrangements i.e. Hotel reservations, ticketing, grounds transport, airport pickups etc.
  • Liaison duties between JGC, Ghana and Nigeria.
  • Ensuring administrative issues are addressed for a smooth run of the office
  • Scheduling meetings and sending meeting invitation to attendees.
  • Any other duties that would be signed from time to time.

Responsibility for Assets:

  • Responsible for maintenance and safe keeping of machinery, devices and gadgets provided such as company vehicles, heavy duty machines, phones, laptops/desktops etc to facilitate work.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or any other related field from an accredited university or college.
  • A Master's Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Should be a member of a recognized body.
  • 10 years working experiences with a minimum of 5 years managerial experiences in a similar role or its equivalents.
