Airtel Nigeria is recruiting to fill the following positions:

1.) Head - Sales & Distribution
2.) Manager - IP Planning and Operations

1.) Head - Sales & Distribution

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

To direct and oversee the increase of the width and depth of distribution, which would translate into acquisitions and revenues and increase channel satisfaction levels.
To develop excellence in distribution through effective market planning and ensuring the financial services availability within the consumer reach; and gaining market share from the competition.

Key Accountabilities

Develop and implement Distribution Design & Structure
Optimize Partners’ returns in terms of ROI and ensure mutually healthy returns.
Drive the improvement of distribution channel satisfaction levels.
Drive the improvement of distribution channel satisfaction levels.
Direct Analytics and Performance Monitoring (Reporting).
Ensure Consistency and Standardization of Delivery documentation.
Develop strategies to Improve utilization of low utilized touch points.
Development of primary financial statements, such as Balance Sheets and Profit and Loss for partners.
Review regularly electronic and cash movements across the network and ensure appropriate Liquidity Management.
Coordinate Partner and agents management processes.
Build a capable and motivated Distribution team to create a high-performance team environment.

Education & Experience

Good First Degree from a reputable university.
Master’s Business in Business Administration (MBA) would be preferred additional qualification.
10 Years of Experience in Sales, Dealer network, Channel management in reputable Organizations preferably in the FMCG industry.
At least 3 years in a senior management role.
Experience in Telecoms would be an added advantage.
Role requires extensive travel.

2.) Manager - IP Planning and Operations

Location: Lagos, Nigeria Hybrid
Job type: Full-time
Level: Mid-Senior

Job Purpose

This role supports the Enterprise business unit to do IP planning and provide customized technical solutions to enterprise business customers.
This person will be interacting with the enterprise business team and customers very extensively.
Flexible and economical design with the timely support of IP-related operational issues is the essence of this role.

Key Accountabilities

Produces designs and implementation plans to test and activate new links for enterprise customers. This includes design for IP Access, BGP transit, and MPLS VPNs on layer 2 and 3 and APN services.
Provides Technical validation of new customers’ IP-related order requests.
Configures switches, routers and ensures solutions are fully documented as part of day-to-day business operation.
Specifies design parameters and Prepares BoQ preparations for new IP solutions.
Liaises with service providers to validate the design and ensures they are fit for purpose.
Supports the sales teams in responding to new tenders and bids on IP-specific designs.
Ensures effective solution delivery using effective project management techniques.
Performs service migration activities of IP customers on request.
Liaises with Enterprise Support service desks in fault isolation and performance-related issues. Performs capacity management routines to ensure links are fully optimized and right-sized.
Network management and IP service monitoring.
Pro-active escalation, follow-through liaison with appropriate departments to resolve technical issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality.
Creation of contingency plans to minimize service issues.
Support in Managing & interacting with chosen Intentional ISPs & carriers
Interacting with partners and Vendors concerning IP-related issues – Ericsson, Huawei, Aviat, Cisco, etc.

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Engineering Degree.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in ISP and Carrier networks domain with at least 2 years’ experience in an area of IP & Internet network – Planning.
At least three years’ experience of IP services on Cisco or Juniper equipment.
Good operations support skills and self starter.
Sound knowledge of Carrier & Enterprise Network - Planning & Operations.

Skills & Competencies:

Excellent IP. MPLS and routing knowledge in an ISP environment.
Excellent Cisco hardware and IOS knowledge.
General knowledge of telecom industry and standards.
Excellent English language skills a must, other languages an advantage.
Logical decision making abilities.
Ability to innovate and deliver value to business.
Ability to manage an outsourcing partner to effectively deliver on SLAs.

3.) Transmission Engineer (Fiber, OSN, DSS, DWDM)

Job Purpose

This function Control, Manage and Support day to day transmission operations and management of the fiber network, Tellabs and OSN Dxx / DWDM network operations to ensure an optimum network availability, excellent customer experience, delivering Operational excellence with most cost optimized model in the world.

Key Accountabilities

Day to day management of all national and Metro fiber, Huawei ODN/DWDM and Tellabs Dxx / DWDM Network Operations & Maintenance with Strategic Partners(SPs) to deliver optimal availability and Perpetual quality ( Customer).
Drive the end to end process documentation, implementation and compliance to processes, procedures and policies to ensure seamless operations across all SP( Process Management).
Regulatory Compliance; ensure that all activities of Operations and Maintenance in the central and Region adhere to corresponding regulatory requirements in daily operations.
Partner & Contract Management; ensure all processes for effective management of Partners.
Build a capable and motivated team at Airtel to create a high performance team environment.

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Telecoms Engineering (Masters Degree in Engineering a plus).
5 -7 years of varied experience in operation and maintenance in the Telecom industry
4-6 years managerial experience in a GSM/mobile company with at least 4 – 5 years hands on experience in various fiber network implementation and Huawei OSN/DWDM and Tellabs SDH

4.) Network Optimization Lead

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Purpose

Achieve and maintain a high quality level of the 3G / 2G / LTE Radio Network Services, and ensure high quality performance on all technical activities, and the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
Provide effective technical support and continually seek for quality improvements within the Mobile Network Optimization project.

Key Accountabilities

Defines and measures the unit KPIs(Key Performance indicators)
Follows-up the evolution of the radio system quality.
Proposes indicators for the continuous analysis and follow-up of radio voice and data quality of service, generates proper alarms and recommends solutions when needed.
Proposes preventive and/or corrective actions for the provisioning of acceptable QoS for voice and data services.
Monitor & analyze the GSM, WCDMA/HSDPA Radio Network Statistics on daily basis.
Achieve & maintain the Radio Network Performance as per the contracted KPIs (Accessibility, Retainability, Mobility & Service Integrity).
Responsible for reducing congestion and drops, improving the IRAT Handover, Soft Handover, Location Update, Paging, CSSR, RRC Connection & RAB Establishment Success rate in his designated area for all Voice, Video Packet & High Speed, issuing capacity requests whenever needed.
Responsible for Inconsistencies Checks, Packet Throughput, Parameter changes & Physical changes.
Responsible for testing the radio performance for the newly integrated sites.
Discuss the frequency & Scrambling Code retunes requests with his team leader for his designated area.
Responsible for the drive test analysis and taking the necessary action to improve the performance of his area.
Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.
Perform Radio Network Surveys, i.e. visit possible sites in order to judge if they are suitable from a radio network point of view (Hardware & Location).
Follows-up and ensures the existence of sufficient capacity in the radio network (including on the BSC-BTS and the air interfaces).
Researches and implements solutions for continuous service improvement in respect to parameter settings and configuration.
Investigates and recommends proper solutions for customer complaints; validates proposed solutions related to parameter modification on the radio network.
Validates the recommended radio parameters and configuration provided by the unit.
Proposes and verifies the implementation of optimal solutions in order to improve operational efficiency of the unit.
Follows corrective actions based on the internal reports of coverage analysis.
Follows-up general Radio access technology trends relating to radio optimization activities and assists the RAN Research & Studies unit in the update of Radio engineering guidelines accordingly.

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

Relevant University Degree in Engineering
10 years of experience in 2G, 3G, 4G
Minimum of 5 years optimization & Planning experience, primarily in Optimization of 4G
Minimum of 4 years with vendors experience or well-known operators in telecommunication or related field
Excellent knowledge of the field of 2G/3G/4G radio communication and optimization
Good knowledge in performance management, DB parameters and features.
Ready to work extra hours during rush periods
Maintains professional relationships with all departments
Ensures confidentiality of information
Strong background of LTE optimization in multi-layered setup
Good Team leading abilities and should be a motivator for the team
Good Presentation skills should be thorough in large data handling
Good experience on vendor handling under MS contract
