1.) Projects Coordinator
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: 12 Months
Start Date: 2022-06-01
Project Types: Nutrition and Health, Food Security and Livelihoods and Water Sanitation and Hygiene
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director , you are in charge of the proper implementation and completion of integrated humanitarian emergency response project with components of FSL, WASH, Health and Nutrition.
- The person will be responsible for the overall management of the project specific scope, planning, resources, quality, risks, representation, coordination, staffing, reporting and delivering of all contractual requirements for the project.
- The project will be implemented across several geographical locations in Borno and Yobe state.
More precisely, you will be in charge of:
- Manage and ensure efficient, effective, quality and timely implementation of the entire project activities.
- Management and develop the project teams across all locations
- Manage external relations and all coordinations related to the project
- Provide technical and administrative leadership for the project teams
- Assist In Wider Organizational Development Through Learning And Proposal
- Project Data Management and Reporting
- Manage and Support to Local Implementing Partner(s).

Requested Profile
- You hold a Master's Degree in relevant discipline: Development Studies, Project Management or similar.
- You have experience at a senior level in managing multi-sectorial integrated humanitarian project specifically Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH, Health, Nutrition. You have excellent management, organizational, motivational and leadership skills.
- You demonstrate experiences in financial management and preparation of budgets for programming. You are familiar with USAID reporting and regulations and you have an experience in managing at least medium teams.
- You have experience in multisector emergency responses and sector coordination and you have a good knowledge of the humanitarian architecture and transformative agenda. You are flexible, creative and innovative.
- Fluent English speaker.
Specific Conditions / Salary
- 12 months fixed term contract under French legislation
- Monthly gross salary from 2200 to 2460€ upon experience
- Monthly per diem and living allowance: 657€ net, field paid
- Monthly country allowance: 450€
- 16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
- Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
- Medical coverage: 100% coverage of medical expenses and repatriation insurance
- Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year and 215 € at each RnR period.
- Training: Free and unlimited access to the certifying e-learning platform Crossknowledge.

2.) Gender and Protection Manager
Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Summary
- We are currently looking to fill the role of Gender and Protection Specialist who will be responsible to ensure the quality mainstreaming of Gender and Protection in AAH projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides technical input on gender mainstreaming and/or coordinates technical support on gender-sensitive and inclusive programming in WASH, Nutrition and Health, FSL, and humanitarian protection sectors with relevant sector specialists if required
- Works with field teams to ensure access and participation of women, men, girls, and boys at risk to Action Against Hunger’s response, recovery, and rehabilitation work
- Engages with state and local women’s rights organizations and mobilizes collective voice around gender discrimination in the post-conflict setting;
- Proactively represent Action Against Hunger International and participate in gender and protection working groups
- Designs and implements demand-driven programme approaches and methodologies aiming toward capacity building, working in partnerships, policy analysis, and advocacy
- In collaboration with the monitoring, evaluation, and learning team, leads the design and implementation of transparent and accountable mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating progress for Action Against Hunger programmes
- Provide guidance to the field teams to develop a comprehensive knowledge base on all aspects of gender by contributing to gender analysis and situational studies, and advise on the gender-sensitive data to be gathered and the indicators that will serve as the basis of developing effective gender programme strategies
- Work with Action Against Hunger project manager, sector managers, MEAL manager, RRM team, and support team to advance gender equality and equity issues throughout the project cycle
- Establish and strengthens gender-focused technical partnerships together with HODs
- Develop joint activity plans with technical teams and allies to further gender objectives and gender results of the social protection programme
- Advice on the development of communication and information programmes to raise gender and protecting awareness within the base programme.

Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social sciences, Gender Studies or any related field
- 2 - 3 years of experience in Design, Development, and Management of Gender Equality in WASH and RRM programme including a minimum of 1 year in a field coordination role
- Proved experience in displacement and durables solutions contexts;
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of Protection Principles, Gender Mainstreaming, and Women’s Rights, in areas of Early Recovery and Resilience Building
- Demonstrated experience of working in collaboration with local partners and government institutions
- Well-developed analytical and strategic planning skills with the ability to influence the wider programme strategy
- Demonstrated experience of conducting trainings, and providing capacity building to local partners and beneficiaries on gender issues
- Able to work under time pressure and long hours whenever required;
- Resilience, flexibility, and adaptability to work successfully under stressful conditions
- A high level of social-cultural sensitivity when dealing with colleagues, partners, and beneficiaries
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and tact, in order to be able to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, including NGO partners, community leaders, and government officials
- Creative problem solving and innovation in complex and /or restrictive working environments
- User-level computer literacy (Office Package, Outlook, etc.).
Remuneration
- NGN508,748 per month (excluding other benefits)

Job Summary
- We are looking for a Country Director to lead our activities in the country.
Responsibilities
- As Country Director you are responsible for overseeing the development, funding and implementation of the country strategy and the growth of the program portfolio that effectively addresses the underlying causes and effects of malnutrition in line with ACF's values, programming principles, and strategy.
- You also ensure that systems/procedures are in place and being properly implemented and that they ensure the proper management, well being and safety of ACF staff, and the proper use of ACF resources.
- You will spend a lot of time working on advocacy, and representation with donors, diplomats and Nigerian authorities.
- ACF is very well recognized by donors and the international community for its role in North-East Nigeria.
- It gives a special role to ACF in terms of advocating for a principled humanitarian response.
More Specifically, You:
- Lead the implementation of the 2025 country strategy
- Develop and adapt on a permanent basis ACF program to the humanitarian context in North-East Nigeria? and develop programming in other States (North West, other to be determined) to help health and other states' services fight undernutrition
- Lead the whole team, 9 people are under your direct management line
- Represent ACF in coordination bodies and participate in advocacy efforts to make sure that a principled humanitarian response takes place
- Are responsible for the ACF team security and staff care
- Ensure a positive collaboration between the field team and HQ teams

Requested Profile
- You hold a Master's Degree in Development Studies or in Management.
- You show at least 8 years of humanitarian experience including in conflict settings with 5 years of senior management or leadership experience, including team leadership.
- You also have 3 years of successful previous experience as Country Director.
- You show excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- You are known for your excellent negotiation skills, and political astuteness as well as your excellent adaptation and culturally sensitivity skills.
- You also have a significant experience with external representation and promotion of programs with stakeholders and potential donors and are able to generate goodwill towards the program with the intention of raising funds and the country grant portfolio.
- You are experienced in managing security in a volatile environment.
- Fluent spoken and written English skills.
Specific Conditions / Salary
- 24 months fixed term contract under French legislation
- Monthly gross salary from 2800 to 3300€ upon experience
- Monthly per diem and living allowance: 657€ net, field paid
- Monthly country allowance: 150€
- Child allowance: 1500€ per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000€/year)
- 16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
- Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
- Medical coverage: 100% coverage of health contributions (social security + health insurance) and repatriation insurance
