1.) Packaging Engineer

 

Location: Ilesa, Osun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The primary function of this position is to take the Strategic lead for the Maintenance function in Packaging and to lead related Strategic Initiatives, ensuring Corporate Governance for equipment and system integrity through the application of and adherence to relevant Standards and Legislation.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Manage departmental Budget / Finances.
  • Lead applicable engineering projects by increasing efficient project planning and execution thereof.
  • Provides input into new equipment / upgrade projects.
  • Ensure conformance to specifications and standards.
  • Lead the risk management program, encompassing occupational health, safety and risk management.
  • Ensure legal compliance in engineering and adherence to legal standards/regulations.
  • People Management Facilitate team problem solving and decision making.
  • Lead the engineering team in a manner that engenders ownership, empowerment, and team interaction.
  • Lead the development of engineering team goals and ensure these are communicated and understood by team members.
  • Conduct regular engineering team goal review sessions.
  • Ensure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members.
  • Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross skilling occurs within the engineering team.
  • Demonstrates conformance to VPO People, Management, and Maintenance pillars.
  • Project manage Major equipment stoppages.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of B.Sc. / HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2 - 5 years as sectional Engineer / Maintenance Controller.

2.) Machine Specialist - Energy & Fluids

 

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • An opportunity exists for a highly skilled and result driven Machine Specialist - Energy & Fluids in Port Harcourt Plant who will be reporting to the Energy & Fluids Engineer.
  • The successful incumbent will maintain, repair and optimize plant and associated devices to ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized technical support and enhance machines, system and process capabilities.
  • Ensure good maintenance practices are applied during maintenance days
  • Assess proper functioning of equipment and request for repair or replacement in case of need.
  • Assess nature of repair on equipment depending on nature of defect as quick fix, replacement or major overhaul.
  • Coach artisans, apprentices and line team members in good maintenance practice.
  • Maintain, repair and optimize machines and associated devices.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of HND / B.Eng. or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • 2 - 4 years experience as an Electrical / Mechanical Artisan or Technician, preferably in a Utilities or process environment.
  • Previous experience as either a Process Artisan or Maintenance Artisan is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of modern maintenance practices and maintenance system.
  • Systemic and Analytical problem-solver.
  • Good knowledge of FCMG production processes and technologies.
  • Acts with integrity.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing way strategies and initiatives.
  • Influencing ability with regards to sound maintenance practices.

3.) Process Control Engineer

 

Location: Ilesa, Osun
Job Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The primary role for this job is to manage, design, co-ordinate and implement the installations of new process control systems within brewing, energy & fluids and packaging. To ensure sustainable integrity and stability of the control and automation infrastructure and proactively recommend best practices within the control and automation arena.

The Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide insight and feedback on how processes are controlled to area Support plant process optimization in terms of quality, cost and speed improvements
  • To support regions with process optimization efforts in terms of improving quality, cost and speed of brewery processes managers and process engineers so that optimization proposals can be engineered
  • Support the change control process at the brewery to ensure that approved changes are made in accordance with approved procedures and vendor recommendations to the control and automation system as specified by area managers and process engineers
  • Follow-up on the effectiveness and sustainability of changes made
  • To ensure and maintain control and automation systems uptime by continuously assessing and mitigating risks, resolving breakdowns and instituting sustainable prevention measures
  • Conducting C&A risk assessments and recommending mitigation as per the site risk assessment process
  • Executing mitigation efforts in reduction of the risks identified
  • Attending to and resolving C&A breakdowns both during and after office hours either remotely or by coming to site
  • Conducting after action reviews to engineer, design and execute sustainable preventative measures
  • Support regions with C&A project implementation and ensure that they adhere to the C&A standards within the project
  • To support regions with control and automation project implementations by ensuring correct control and automation standards are followed and advising on technologies where applicable
  • Provide input to the business case by reviewing business cases and making recommendations to the regions
  • Assist with technology selection by providing regions with insight into new technologies and making recommendations around these
  • Provide regions with advice of technology implementation during technologies
  • Provide regions with divisional standards where they exist or assist regions in developing new standards in conjunction with the regions
  • Design and commissioning of projects
  • Support regions with problems experienced in the control and automation layer that has been escalated to BIS

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Degree in Electrical Engineering / Software
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with Control and Automation including:
  • Networks and servers
  • Microsoft server software
  • Manufacturing Execution systems (MES)
  • PLC systems
  • Manufacturing processes
  • S88 batch control standard
  • Field instrumentation and networks
  • SCADA systems

4.) Packaging Maintenance Controller - Mechanical

 

Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Job Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • An opportunity exists for a highly skilled and result driven Packaging Maintenance Controller  - in our Gateway Plant reporting to the Packaging Engineer.
  • The successful incumbent will co-ordinate, coach and control the activities of the level four maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide specialist technical advice to ensure maximum equipment availability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret process description specifications and conduct modifications /optimizations of process control software as per specifications and software standards
  • Identify process control software deviations and resolve or recommend solutions
  • Support the process control software change management process
  • Maintain process control software integrity and security
  • Support the development of and upgrade preventative maintenance procedures for process control systems
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts
  • Maintain working knowledge of new technology instrumentation, software, etc., through reading and/or attending conferences, workshops or other training
  • Provide engineering/projects support and recommendations for new and existing equipment about installation, upgrades and enhancement
  • Enforce required standards
  • Prepares the allocated area ZBB Maintenance budget
  • Complies to approved budget
  • Highlights risk areas ahead of time

Qualifications
