1.) Barrier Analysis IFAS National Consultant

Responsibilities
In this consultancy, you will be expected to:
- Document the current policies in place at federal and state level regarding IFA supplementation. Highlight differences between federal and state policies, and any inter-state differences.
- Describe the IFA supplementation supply chain in the public sector including availability of local production of combined IFA (by whom, at what price), price differentials between combined IFA vis a vis separate iron supplements and folic acid supplements, procurement systems, storage systems, planning and distribution systems to the last mile. The description should also include how IFA distribution and consumption is tracked (data system) and progressed measured. Finally, it should include if and how states use data to inform planning and programming.
- Describe the role the private sector is playing in provision of IFA supplementation, including are IFA and or Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) available in private pharmacies, shops, etc. at what price, is a prescription needed, what is the volume of sales, who purchases, etc.
- Analyze secondary data to demonstrate missed opportunities i.e. what proportion of pregnant women attend ANC services, what proportion are counselled on IFA supplementation, what proportion receive IFA supplements and what proportion consume IFA supplements
- Identify key barriers and challenges to optimal supply management for IFA across the public sector
- Identify enablers and opportunities for a strong and efficient supply chain to deliver IFA supplements to women in the last mile (across both public and private sector platforms)
- Recommend strategies to strengthen the supply chain and uptake of IFA supplements

Requirements
To qualify as a champion for every child you will need to have:
- A minimum of Master's Degree in relevant field (Supply Chain Management, Health System Strengthening Public/ Global Health, Epidemiology) with relevant experience in Nutrition.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of proven expertise in conducting research/surveys in the health system in Nigeria.
- Professional experience and/background in nutrition programming especially micronutrient deficiency control.
- Excellent communication skills in the English language (written and verbal).
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills and proven ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work in a multi-cultural environment
- Available in Nigeria during assignment period and can visit office and field time to time as needed
- Experience working in/knowledge of the Nigeria, nutrition context, and local Nigerian language skills
- Willingness to comply with UNICEF Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfer (HACT) approaches such as micro-assessments, spot-checks including at end-user level.

How can you make a difference?
- To provide statistical skills and technical support to the WASH sector for statistical data analysis, synthesis of a broad spectrum of data sources, harmonization, and institutionalization of data management tools (intervention profiling tool and sector dashboards), and to assist the Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR) to roll out these tools at the sub-national level through the transfer of requisite skills and capacities for periodic data updates while ensuring that measures are in place to enable the use of data and evidence generated for policy formulation, planning, and budgeting at all levels.

Summary of Key Functions / Accountabilities
- Task 1: Support the FMWR to scale up systems for data and information management and to generate state WASH profiles for all the states in Nigeria from the NORM data
- Task 2: Conduct and sector-wide trend analysis of key indicators at the national level and produce infographics to highlight these trends as advocacy products
- Task 3: Support the update of the WASH intervention profiling tool using the WASHNORM 2021 data.
- Task 4: Provide technical support to the government on completing and finalizing the WASH accounts analysis
- Task 5: Conduct a correlation analysis of WASH data on key indicators with data for health, nutrition, and education on the relationship between these outcome areas and child survival in Nigeria
- Task 6A: Support the FMWR to develop a capacity-building plan for National and sub-national level officers on data management, analysis, and use.
- Task 6B: support capacity development and skills transfer to partners through hands-on training data entry, retrieval, and use at the national and sub-national level.
- Task 7: Support data collection and analysis on WASH project and overall WASH program and generation of the period dashboard for programme monitoring
Job Requirements
To qualify as a champion for every child you will need to have:
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics or any other related field of study
- S/he should have 5 years working experience in Programme design and implementation especially as it relates to systems development and capacity transfer
- Possess a portfolio or projects to showcase on Information and Data Analysis using statistical tools, with reports presented in infographics.
- HUMANITARIAN: At least one three-month deployment mission in a humanitarian situation (with UN-Govt-INGO) is required.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered an asset.

- Under the guidance and general supervision of the Social Policy Manager, the Education Specialist supports development and preparation of the Education programmes and is responsible for designing, managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the progress of education programmes/projects.

Job Requirements
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:
- An advanced University Degree in one of the following fields Education, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, or another relevant technical field required.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education at the international level required.
- A first university degree in a relevant field combined with two additional years of professional experience (seven years) may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- Experience working with adolescent/youth development/Generation Unlimited desired.
- Experience in digital and alternate remote learning platform Generation Unlimited team with a focus on the school-to-school and community connectivity programme desired.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.
- Familiarity/ background with emergencies is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
