What the ZUST Scholarship Covers

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Non-Chinese citizen aged 16 to 35 (up to 45 for current Chinese language teachers)
  • Physically and mentally healthy
  • No criminal record
  • Strong interest in Chinese language education
  • Able to comply with Chinese laws and university regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree applicants must generally be under 25

Scholarship Program Categories at ZUST

1. Master’s in International Chinese Language Education

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Duration: Up to 2 years
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • HSK Level 5 (score ≥ 210) and HSKK Intermediate (score ≥ 60)
    • Priority is given to applicants with a signed teaching contract or job offer

2. One-Year Study Programs

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Duration: 11 months
  • Requirements vary by focus area:
    • International Chinese Language Education: HSK Level 3 (score ≥ 270) + HSKK
    • Chinese Language & Literature, History, or Philosophy: HSK Level 4 (score ≥ 180) + HSKK Intermediate
    • Chinese Language Studies: HSK Level 3 (score ≥ 210) + HSKK (preferred)

3. One-Semester Study Programs

  • Start Dates: September 2025 or March 2026
  • Duration: 5 months
  • Requirements:
    • HSK Level 3 (score ≥ 180) + HSKK for all subject areas
