This prestigious scholarship is aimed at African students enrolling in undergraduate programs within the faculties of Engineering, Science, or Social Sciences. Recipients of this scholarship will see a reduction in their tuition fees ranging from $17,500 to $25,000, varying by the chosen program. The scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible students upon enrollment, directly reducing their tuition costs.

Please note, this scholarship cannot be combined with the Entrance Scholarship for African Students Studying in English.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the University of Ottawa Excellence Scholarship must:

Satisfy the admission criteria for their chosen program;
Be enrolling as a full-time student in a university undergraduate program for the first time;
Hold citizenship from an African country;
Achieve the academic standards required for the scholarship.

Application Process

How to Apply:

To apply for the University of Ottawa Excellence Scholarship, candidates must first apply to their chosen program at the University of Ottawa and receive their uoAccess ID and password. Following this, scholarship and bursary applications should be submitted as early as possible.

Applications for scholarships and bursaries are to be completed online through the Online Scholarships and Bursaries portal. Application forms are generally available two months before the deadline.

Ensure all required documents are uploaded to the Online Scholarships and Bursaries portal and submit your application accordingly.
