Two Scholarship Levels to Match Your Needs

UCAS offers two award tiers, making financial support flexible:

  • Full Scholarship
    • Full tuition waiver (RMB 40,000/year for PhD; RMB 30,000/year for Master’s)
    • Monthly stipend (at least RMB 3,500 for PhD; RMB 3,000 for Master’s)
    • Basic on-campus housing in Beijing or arranged housing at other institutes
    • Medical insurance worth RMB 800/year and no RMB 600 application fee
    • Maximum duration: 36 months
  • Partial Scholarship
    • Tuition waiver, medical insurance, and application-fee waiver
    • No stipend, ideal if you have alternative funding
    • Maximum duration: 36 months for degree students; 6–24 months for visiting scholars

Who Can Apply

International candidates who meet UCAS admission standards are welcome. Basic requirements:

  • Nationality: valid foreign passport
  • Language: proficiency in English or Chinese
  • Age limits:
    • PhD applicants born on/after January 1, 1991
    • Master’s applicants born on/after January 1, 1996
    • Senior visiting students born on/after January 1, 1981
    • Regular visiting students born on/after January 1, 1986
  • Academic record: aligns with UCAS graduate criteria
  • Commitment: no concurrent full-time programs during scholarship

How to Apply

  1. Review the official UCAS “Call for 2026 Master’s/Doctoral Degree Programs for International Students” or the “Call for Visiting Students Programs” to ensure you have all required materials, including academic transcripts, research proposal, and reference letters.
  2. Visit the UCAS Online Admission System for International Students and create an account. Choose “UCAS Scholarship for International Students” as your preferred funding option.
  3. Complete your form Select “UCAS Scholarship for International Students,” upload transcripts, research proposal, and references
  4. Confirm with your host supervisor Secure endorsement from your intended CAS institute or UCAS college
  5. Submit by the deadline Degree-track applications close January 31, 2026 (Beijing Time); visiting scholar applications are accepted year-round
