1.) Protection Field Officer 1
Job Title: Protection Field Officer 1
Location: BIU, Adamawa

Job Summary
- Under the direct supervision of the Protection Delegate in BIU and Protection Team leader in Mubi, the Protection Field Officer 1 contributes to the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Protection activities, with a focus on Protection of Civilian Population activities (PCP) activities.
- S/he will work on a broad range of protection-related issues such as Sexual Violence, Healthcare in Danger, child protection, violations of the IHL.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the design and the implementation of protection activities under the supervision of the line manager.
- Collects, compiles, and interprets protection concerns and their humanitarian consequences for the civilian population and prepares written reports and updates ICRC database (Prot6).
- Contributes to the mapping of protection stakeholders and follows up with communities.
- Carries out confidential debriefings with individuals affected by armed conflicts and leads focus group discussions with affected communities.
- Maintains and/or develops an adequate network with all relevant stakeholders (local communities, humanitarian organizations, authorities, religious leaders, NRCS, etc.) to have a good analysis of the situation and updated information relevant for the work of the organization.
- Contributes to the organization of and takes part in field missions and protection related activities and contributes to the reporting following field missions (field trip reports, Minutes of Meetings, etc.).
- Contributes to timely reports (weekly updates, quarterly reports, etc.).
- Supports ICRC staff members during field visits by ensuring translation during interactions with beneficiaries when needed.
- Contributes to the analysis of the security, socioeconomic, cultural, and political environment relevant to the ICRC and shares relevant information with team members and reports any change in the situation.
- Supports other activities when relevant (including economic security, water and habitat and health departments) and contributes to their reporting with protection insights and analysis.
- Ensures the sustainability of their work and puts in place a system for archiving their work for the purposes of institutional memory.
Education and Experience Required
- University degree in a relevant field (law, public policy, international relations, political science, communication)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector with a focus on Protection/Child protection/SGBV
- Excellent written and spoken English and Hausa, Fula/Fulfulde (Fulani) or other languages used in Nigeria is an asset.
- Computer proficiency: knowledge in Excel, Word and Power Point, use of database
- Sound analytical skills, good knowledge (political, cultural, and geographical) of northeast Nigeria.

2.) Protection of Family Links Field Officer 2
Job Title: Protection of Family Links Field Officer 2
Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Description
- Under the direct supervision of the Protection of Family Links Team Lead, the PFL field officer is responsible for the implementation of Restoring of Family Links activities in a defined area if responsibilities (AOR) to respond adequately to the needs of families searching for their missing loved ones.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the analysis and periodical synthesis of all relevant information pertinent to the PFL activities.
- Manages the caseload for the AOR including identifying and prioritising action, maintaining contact with volunteers, attributing workload, assessing quality of work done.
- Coaches, supervises, and provides feedback to NRCS volunteers as they collect and treat RFL cases (UAM/SC, TC RCM etc) in the area of responsibility.
- Checks and processes all documentation before transmission to the delegation in a timely manner.
- Assists to deliver capacity-building trainings for NRCS RFL Volunteers.
- Plans and conducts field trips in support of RFL operations and produces comprehensive and timely reports.
- Participate to internal and external meetings.
- Occasionally translates RFL documents from local languages to English and vice versa.
- In charge of data quality analysis on cases registered and followed up in MIU.
- Receives and responds to request received from enquirers calling the office
- Supports in the compiling, cross-checking, and processing of volunteer incentives.
- Uses the institutional database (prot 6) to register cases, access reports, prepare working tools and search for beneficiaries.
- Ensures the flow of information related to Data Management is thorough and complete.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Humanitarian Affairs, or any other relevant field
- Must have 3 to 5 years working experience preferably in Protection work.
- Working proficiency in English, Hausa, and Kanuri compulsory
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), collaborative spaces
- Experience with case management databases.
- Knowledge of the cultural and socio-economic environment in North-east Nigeria
- Applicants should have a Nigerian nationality or hold a working permit.
Desired profile and Skills:
- Previous working experience with an INGO is an asset.
- Experience with the Nigerian Red Cross Society is an asset.
- Excellent planning and writing abilities.

3.) Agronomist III

Description
- Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Economic Security Coordinator, The Agronomist 3 field officer is the focal point between the country EcoSec programme and the field (Agro programme in sub delegations).
- S/He contributes toward the Agro programme design by coordinating the needs assessment and consolidates the respective Sub delegations’ needs into the country Agro needs overview, which is used to develop the National Agro response plan.
- S/He coordinates and supervises the implementation of the agriculture structural support programmes and capacity building activities implemented with 3rd parties and facilitates coordination with line ministries of the government of Nigeria.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the humanitarian context analysis and Agro situational analysis in regions of interest for ICRC in Nigeria, by supporting the Agro situational assessment in the priority zones of the sub-delegation using the available standardized tools developed and adapted to the Nigeria context.
- Contributes to the development and design of the Nigeria EcoSec Agro strategy and the Agro country response plan.
- Contributes to Agro program activity planning and the implementation across the participating sub-delegations. S/he supports the Agro operations of sub delegations, whenever requested, particularly to provide hand on support on technical processes where coaching of the field staff and additional HR/ skill is required.
- Contributes to the implementation of the Agro structural support programmes involving the Ministry of Agriculture and government parastatals collaborating on agriculture programs with ICRC. S/he contributes to the institutional needs assessment of the MoA structures earmarked for structural support/ capacity building intervention and develops a realistic response planning for the identified entity.
- Contributes to the development, harmonization and roll-out of Agro programme management tools. S/he supports the adoption of tools developed for effective programme assessment, monitoring and reporting throughout the country, working in close collaboration with the A&E team.
- Contributes to Agro programme documentation/reporting (MoMs, FTRs, PDM, PHM etc), project proposal and action plans. S/he is the Agro institutional memory of the Agro file in Nigeria, acquaints him/herself with all agriculture interventions made by ICRC in the country and can explain the rationale and strategy behind all Agro undertakings in the country.
- Supports the establishment and improvement of seed quality assurance processes for the ICRC, for all seeds procured and distributed in-kind, as well as for agro seed voucher programs and seed fairs. This will also include seed quality monitoring activities by participating in and coordinating seed sampling and re-testing campaigns, with the support of NASC and the Logistics Department.
- Supports the improvement of farmers’ knowledge on crop production activities and the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices, through the establishment of systems and facilities that will be deployed for practical field demonstration sessions. Also contributes to knowledge capacity development of key agricultural stakeholders, such as Ministries of Agriculture Extension Workers and NASC, amongst others.
- Contributes to improving farmers’ access to certified quality seeds by triggering contacts between seed producers and the local farmers through the organization, piloting and scaling-up of agro seed voucher interventions across locations deemed feasible, as well as studying, understanding, and strengthening community-based seed production systems in Nigeria.
Education and Experience Required
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, with at least 5 year of work experience in the fields of food security and agricultural livelihood is mandatory.
- Good command of English language and Hausa, with a good written and spoken English competency.
- Computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- More than 5 years of professional experience in Agricultural programming and at least 2 years in management of Agricultural response especially in a humanitarian or private sector setting.
