1.) Protection Field Officer 1, B2
Job Title: Protection Field Officer 1, B2
Location: Yola - Adamawa

Job Description
- Under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader in Mubi, the Protection Field Officer 1 contributes to the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Protection activities, with a focus on Protection of Civilian Population activities (PCP) activities. S/he will work on a broad range of protection-related issues such as Sexual Violence, Healthcare in Danger, child protection, and allegations of violations of the IHL.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the design and the implementation of protection activities under the supervision of the line manager.
- Collects, compiles, and interprets protection concerns and their humanitarian consequences for the civilian population and prepares written reports and updates ICRC database (Prot6).
- Carries out confidential debriefings with individuals affected by armed conflicts and leads focus group discussions with affected communities.
- Maintains and/or develops an adequate network with all relevant stakeholders (local communities, humanitarian organizations, authorities, religious leaders, NRCS, etc.) to have a good analysis of the situation and updated information relevant for the work of the organization.
- Contributes to the organization of and takes part in field missions and protection related activities and contributes to the reporting following field missions (field trip reports, Minutes of Meetings, etc.).
- Contributes to the analysis of the security, socioeconomic, cultural, and political environment relevant to the ICRC and shares relevant information with team members and reports any change in the situation.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field (law, public policy, international relations, political science, communication, social work)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector with a focus on Protection/Child protection/SGBV
- Excellent written and spoken English and Hausa – Compulsory, Fula/Fulfulde (Fulani), Kanuri or other languages used in Nigeria is an asset.
- Computer proficiency: knowledge in Excel, Word and Power Point, use of database
- Sound analytical skills, good knowledge (political, cultural, and geographical) of northeast Nigeria.
- Ability to keep discretion and handling confidential matters effectively.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and multiethnic environment.

- Under the supervision of the ICT Manager, the ICT Specialist 2 manages and organizes all ICT systems and services in the location where s/he is posted. S/he assists the ICT Manager in designing data driven solutions but will also handle various administrative tasks to support the ICT team, displaying a strong with strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
Job Description
- Maintains contacts with suppliers/providers and follows ICRC logistics and ICT procedures
- Ensures ICT inventory is updated regularly and maintains adequate stocks levels.
- Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Level 1 user support, including workplace and digital workplace.
- ICT Briefings
- Build reports on helpdesk activity.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to create detailed reports and visualizations that support business decisions.
- Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or other data visualization tools.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into functional BI solutions.
- Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models that support business reporting and analytics.
- Performance Monitoring: Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency in reports and dashboards, and troubleshoot data discrepancies or issues as they arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and BI practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Training & Documentation: Provide training to end-users on BI tools and document processes, data definitions, and report/dashboards usage for self-service analytics.
- Collaboration with IT & Data Teams: Work closely with IT, data engineering, and data science teams to enhance data infrastructure and integrate new data sources.
Requirements
- Educational Background: bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Technology,
- Certifications: BI-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist, etc.) are a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in IT field, BI and data analysis, or a related field.

Job Description
- Under the supervision of the IM Officer, the Administrative Assistant provides secretarial/administrative support and act as IM Focal point in the ABJ Delegation
Responsibilities
- Welcomes visitors, provides them with information and directs them to the appropriate staff members.
- Updates list and tables, telephone numbers, addresses, etc.
- Answers and redirects incoming calls. Provides answers to callers’ questions.
- Participates to implementing of all information management projects or programs linked to Information Management. Ensures that users understand the needs for change and supports these changes.
- Receives incoming paper mails, distributes them according to concerned individual or department.
- Distributes messages and maintains the ABJ Teambox up to date.
- Prepares outgoing bordereaux and receives/distributes incoming mails. Briefs, guides, helps ABJ colleagues handling bordereaux.
- In charge of ensuring that all outgoing correspondence are inline with organizational protocol, train and ensure adherence to these guidelines in the delegation.
- Organizes dispatch of outgoing letters. Maintains incoming and outgoing Chrono files and ensures that all outgoing letters are acknowledged by the receiver through dispatch office.
- Updates ABJ Organization Charts and manages the updates of all organizational charts in the subsites and departments.
- Contributes to ensuring that rules for correspondence, document security, archiving and good usage of standard computer technology are properly followed and implemented.
- Manages ICRC visual identity stock in collaboration with relevant departments and sub delegations and other general stationary stocks for the management team. Makes sure that the stationary complies with the applicable visual identity rules and is responsible for keeping stock
- Supports the IM team in daily administrative tasks such as agenda, meeting and VIP visits organization, contacts, compilation of documents and draft simple correspondence.
- Prepares for meetings by setting up rooms and materials, including technical set-up for conference calls, presentations and video conferences
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business Administration, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Very good and working knowledge of Computer software like MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint), HCL Notes, and Sharepoint.
- Excellent command of English is a great asset and good capacity building skills.
- 1–2 years of experience in program and administrative related tasks.
- Must have valid permits/rights to work in Nigeria as well as NYSC certificate.

4.) Armed and Security Forces (FAS) Adviser
Job Title: Armed and Security Forces (FAS) Adviser
Location: Maiduguri, Borno (Covering Borno, Adamawa & Yobe - "BAY")
Job Description
- Under the technical supervision of the FAS Coordinator, acts as adviser to the Head of Sub Delegations (HoSDs) Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (BAY), in matters relating to the Sub-Delegations’ dialogue with the Armed and Security Forces, especially the military.
- Also, supports the drafting and implementation of the Sub-Delegations’ communication strategy as well as the Protection Unit’s dialogue with the military on Conduct of Hostilities (CoH) and visits to places of detention under the custody of the military.
- Grade: B3
Responsibilities
- Advises the HoSDs on all matters concerning the best way to relate with the military hierarchy deployed in the North East operation.
- Proactively takes steps to expand the interlocutor base with relevant military interlocutors who can ensure better and deeper collaboration between the Sub-Delegations and the military in the North East.
- Supports the setting of the Sub-Delegations’ communication priorities, objectives, and strategies, as well as the planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of their communication activities.
- Supports the Protection Unit in their day-to-day engagement with the military in the area of visit to places of detention in the North East.
- Supports the Management and Protection Unit in developing and sustaining a dialogue on conduct of hostilities with relevant military commanders in the NE operations.
- Organizes International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and /IHRL training, including case studies, and conducts dissemination with the support of the FAS Coordinator.
- Conducts dissemination and training sessions on the applicable laws to relevant members of community defense groups deployed in the area of responsibility of the Sub-Delegations.
- In coordination with the FAS Unit, conducts IHL/IHRL briefings for troops in situ in the NE or during pre-deployment training sessions within the North East.
- Acts as a relay between the Sub-Delegations and the PGE Adviser in Abuja in respect of activities related to the Police file.
- May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social sciences
- Retired commissioned military officer not below the rank of Major with a pass staff college (psc) award.
- Basic knowledge of IHL and human rights law
- Fluent in written and spoken English – knowledge of Hausa an advantage.
- Good analytical and writing skills.
- Efficient use of PowerPoint and Microsoft word
- 5-10 years’ experience in planning military or police operations or Legal (IIHL/IHRL) or multinational operations or civil-military cooperation.
- Applicant must have a valid working permit to work in Nigeria.
