1.) Electrical Technician – Surface Mine Infrastructure
2.) Mechanical Technician – Process Plant
3.) Transport Officer
AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

1.) Electrical Technician – Surface Mine Infrastructure
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
• The Electrical Technician – Surface Mine Infrastructure reports to the Electrical Supervisor – Surface Mine Infrastructure and is accountable for executing all types of plant electrical maintenance as required and tasked such as Fridge Plants, Primary Vent Fans(BVS, CAT 300, SNVS, KMVS, GCVS), Generator sets, and Pastefill and cover breakdown maintenance on call in a safe and compliant manner as instructed during refurbishment, later maintenance, of the surface mine infrastructure.
• The work is to be executed in accordance with detailed tasking in accordance with applicable Government of Ghana and AGAG safety and environmental requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Work compliantly with the requirement of Government of Ghana Agencies, environmental, health & safety legislation and AGAG regulation
• Accept personal responsibility for his own health and safety and that of every mine worker affected by his work
• Interface with Contractors as directed and/or Construction teams regarding mechanical work tasks for refurbishment works and planned works that support the overall work plan, schedule and expectations.
• Execute electrical refurbishment and maintenance work items as tasked - compliant and in accordance with all relevant regulations from Government of Ghana and AGAG
• Execute daily pre-start checks of equipment/tools prior to leaving workshop. Escalate and report any anomalies
• Assess all equipment required for completion of the tasked work, create checklist and transport all tools necessary for task completion
• Recognise any machine, equipment or crane operation anomalies that would indicate requirements for maintenance, report and escalate.
• Provide data and information to support the Maintenance Planner to close out work orders in SAP on completion of the tasked work for all process plant and equipment refurbishment and maintenance activities.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Secondary education level
• Certificate of successful completion of respected electrical trade apprenticeship (example: City and Guilds)

Experience
• Five (5) years of experience of post-apprenticeship work in an electrical trade
• Familiarity with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation
Technical Competencies
• Fully literate and numerate
• Fully competent in electrical trade

2.) Mechanical Technician – Process Plant
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
• The Mechanical Technician - Process Plant reports to the Mechanical Supervisor is accountable for executing tasked plant mechanical maintenance work items.
• This position will execute work tasks falling in day and night shift, in a safe and compliant manner as instructed refurbishment, later maintenance, of the Processing Plant.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Work compliantly with the requirement of Government of Ghana Agencies, environmental, health & safety legislation and AGAG regulation
• Accept personal responsibility for his own health and safety and that of every mine worker affected by his work
• Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan
• Interface with Contractors as directed and/or Construction teams regarding mechanical work tasks for refurbishment works and planned works that support the overall work plan, schedule and expectations.
• Attend training, development and performance improvement training as required
• Execute mechanical refurbishment and maintenance work items as tasked - compliant and in accordance with all relevant regulations from Government of Ghana and AGAG
• If expedient, provide detailed movement signals to crane operator for machine/equipment locating
• Execute daily pre-start checks of equipment/tools prior to leaving workshop. Escalate and report any anomalies
• Assess all equipment required for completion of the tasked work, create checklist and transport all tools necessary for task completion
• Recognize any machine, equipment or crane operation anomalies that would indicate requirements for maintenance, report and escalate.
• Provide data and information to support the Maintenance Planner to close out work orders in SAP on completion of the tasked work for all process plant and equipment refurbishment and maintenance activities.
• Operate all equipment within the safe working environment.
• Stop equipment operation if there exists a high risk or unsafe to be used
Qualification Required & Experience
• Secondary education level
• Certificate of successful completion of respected mechanical trade apprenticeship (example: City and Guilds)
Experience
• Five (5) years of experience of post-apprenticeship work in a mechanical trade
• Familiarity with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation

3.) Transport Officer
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
• The Transport Officer is accountable for the monitoring and control of documentation and permits that covers Fleet Documentation, Inspections, Permits and Driver management as well as controlling of pool vehicles to standard.
• This is the point of control of operator skills in compliance to operate mobile plant, equipment and vehicles underground.
• Also accountable for the transition to operations, through the application of operational policies, standards, processes and procedures to maximise plant availability in a sustainable cost-effective manner and minimize operational risks in order to meet the business’ strategic objective.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Work according to total quality management principles & ensure zero defect objectives & safety.
• Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan.
• Gather information for the Superintendent - HME/LV & Trucks for reporting performance.
• Conduct periodic audits of all vehicle and driver documentation to verify compliance with all regulations
• Conduct reviews of the document control mechanisms and processes to identify actions for continuous improvement
• Organise information for the Superintendent – LME/HME to develop condition monitoring equipment checks;
• Ensure all pre-start checks are being carried out and check sheets completed and entered into document review, that all anomalies and issues are being correctly escalated for repair and maintenance
• Ensure all vehicles are programmed to be and are maintained in accordance with OEM requirements to maintain asset value
• Set, monitor and control the quality of work to develop roster and fleet and driver movement schedule for travels and pick up arrangement to and from airport, Obuasi, Kumasi and Accra
• Analyse and trend predictive maintenance to determine vehicle condition and report this condition for action;
• Monitor general physical condition of plant assets and report
• Monitor preventive and corrective actions as necessary;
• Generate work requests in SAP as required for vehicle maintenance planning and scheduling
• Ensure routine condition monitoring tasks are performed on all the rotating equipment by data collection, example oil analysis for engine and transmission, according to the established schedules and also as required by AGAG instructions
• Gather information on vibration & other data reported and collected in order to diagnose / troubleshoot rotating machinery problems.
• Actively participate in maintenance review programmes and Root Cause Failure Analysis process of AGAG and contractor vehicles as required.
• Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives.
• Propose cost savings projects.
• Execute work in a timely manner; coordinate document and transport work to time plan, escalate real or potential delays.
• Monitor equipment performance on asset health system and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Automobile Maintenance or equivalent
Experience
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience
• An experienced document control officer, with experience of mine vehicle permits, operator permits and compliance
• Understand Ghana Highway Codes
• Knowledge of SAP PM Module
Legal Requirement
• Must possess high grade Ghanaian Valid license
Technical Competencies
• Strong document control competencies in mining environment
• Should have analytical skills to be able to evaluate information and solve complex problems.
• Commercially astute and able to work effectively with third parties.
• Legally astute with respect to project delivery and maintenance system
• Excellent skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel
• Must be able to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing
