1.) Corporate Legal Counsel

Job Title: Corporate Legal Counsel

Job Description

  • Under the direct supervision of the Head of Support, the Corporate Legal Counsel is in charge of providing substantive advice and ad hoc legal support to the various internal clients in the Nigeria delegation and ensuring an efficient service delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides legal advice and support in areas including HR, finance, ICT, logistics, procurement, administration, taxes, data protection, governance, intellectual property, Premises, regulatory issues, etc.
  • Drafts, reviews any kind of legally binding document with third parties and negotiates contracts for the ICRC in all above mentioned areas, and drafts legal opinions.
  • Advises in the context of the adoption of various types of documents (policies, memos, position papers, risk assessments, etc.)
  • Follows and contributes to decision making processes and internal procedures (notably around compliance, information security, risk management)
  • Advises on and provides legal services regarding the ICRC’s activities in Nigeria, in relation to the management of legal risks in the above mentioned areas of expertise
  • Liaises with the external counsel
  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (M.A minimum, L.L.M would be an asset).
  • National Bar Exam a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a corporate legal adviser required, with HR/employment related practice or contractual practice.
  • Minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience.
  • Solid experience in contract law, employment law, business law, the law of international civil service or equivalent experience in applicable administrative law required
  • Solid experience either in-house or in a law firm on corporate legal matters with a multinational dimension required
  • Experience in the legal sector with IO/NGO entities a strong asset

2.) Mechanic

Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

  • Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Site Manager (LSM), and Vehicle Fleet Manager, the Mechanic carries out preventive maintenance and repairs on ICRC vehicles and other logistics equipment in accordance with ICRC scheduled servicing and Manufacturers’ recommendations

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carries out repairs on light vehicles, generators, forklifts, and other ICRC mechanical equipment and in accordance with the manufacturer’s procedures and industry best practices.
  • Carries out scheduled preventative maintenance service on ICRC vehicles, and generators as per ICRC and/or manufacturer's specifications.
  • Ensures that all service and repair forms are correctly filled out and filed for all jobs carried out
  • Ensures that spare parts and consumables stocks are kept at the agreed levels; takes part in placing orders for spare parts and equipment as required
  • Ensures safe and correct work practices within the workshop (power tools, hoisting equipment, vehicle supports, tire repair, battery servicing, etc.)
  • Actively assists in keeping inventory for the workshop and its stores as required.
  • Supervises, trains, and coaches Mechanic Helper (if applicable)
  • In charge of timely and accurate creation and filing of (both hardcopy/softcopy) job cards, work orders, and service sheets in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Ensures that technical and personal security standards are followed as regards their work.

Minimum Required Knowledge & Experience

  • Technical College / University Degree or Certificate in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering and valid level 1 motor vehicle mechanics certificates issued by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of labor productivity
  • Minimum of 3 years' confirmed experience as a fully qualified mechanic in the automotive industry or 4–6 years experience in similar position as a mechanic.
  • Good command (spoken and written) of English.
  • Good computer skills and computer literacy with sound knowledge of (Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel).
  • Valid class B or D Nigerian Drivers License
  • Sound knowledge and repair experience with diesel-powered vehicles and generators and automotive electrical systems.

3.) Dispatcher I

Job Title: Dispatcher I

Job Description

  • Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Site Manager, the Dispatcher dispatches vehicles in a safe, objective-driven, and economical manner, manage the drivers and their assignments. In charge of 20-30 drivers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizes and plans drivers’ duties and assignments; dispatch the assigned vehicles (drivers and cars are sufficiently available, and efficiently utilized for daily tasks and field trips).
  • Compile the driver’s weekly roaster.
  • Monitor and record vehicle use and fuel consumption in the dedicated tool.
  • Ensures Management of keys for the fleet under supervision
  • Keep track of all vehicle movement under the fleet using the tool provided by the ICRC (Humanav/ Novacom).
  • Prepare accident forms, waivers & insurance in all vehicles, follow up on all accidents within and outside working hours involving ICRC assets, and ensure accident reports are submitted on time.
  • Assist in the assessment of standard commercial means of transport when requested.
  • Follows up breakdowns, complaints, and other issues to the Vehicle Fleet Manager (Functional Supervisor) as well report security issues to the HoSD.
  • Ensures that job descriptions for employees under his/her supervision are up to date; seeks feedback and support from the Logistician, Fleet Manager, or HR Department if needed.
  • Plans and coordinates the annual leave of the employees under his/her supervision ensuring continuity of the operations throughout the year and making sure that there are no outstanding holiday balances at the end of the year
  • Coordinates and supports the employees under his/her supervision in their personal development by coaching and advising them on internal and external training and development possibilities

Minimum Required Knowledge & Experience

  • Secondary School or Technical / Professional School Diploma
  • 2 years minimum working experience in the field of fleet
  • Good command (Spoken and Written) of English / knowledge of the native language
  • Good computer skills proficient in Excel and Word
  • Driving license class B
  • Knowledge of the geographical area of operation
  • Familiarity of the All-Terrain (4 x 4) vehicle
  • Knowledge of the VHF and HF radio operations
