1.) Head of Wash Department

Job Title: Head of Wash Department

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months

Mission

  • Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director, you will ensure the quality, relevance, and scalability of the WASH program within the mission, in alignment with ACF standards, international guidelines, and national policies.
  • More specifically, your responsibilities will be responsible for the following missions:
  • Contribute to the definition of the country strategy as well as the strategy and positioning of the WASH technical department.
  • Ensure adherence to and analysis of ACF's key WASH indicators within your zone of intervention.
  • Coordinate the identification of needs and the formulation of project proposals.
  • Oversee the implementation of programs/projects and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support the Field Coordinator in monitoring APR (quantitative and narrative), provide technical feedback, and flag any deficiencies.
  • Propose action plans and solutions to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of programs.
  • Guarantee the quality and accountability of WASH projects.
  • Actively participate in national sectoral coordination and technical forums, and develop strategic sectoral partnerships.
  • Participate in the recruitment of national Project Managers (PMs) and contribute to the selection of expatriates when relevant (defining profiles, conducting interviews, administering technical tests, and evaluating technical competence).
  • Contribute to the technical aspects of HR requests for expatriates (job descriptions, technical recruitment criteria, action plans).
  • Ensure the development and follow-up of a WASH Department action plan.
  • Promote capitalization, technical development, research and innovation within the WASH Department

Profile

  • You hold a Master's degree in Water Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Public Health and have over 3 years of experience working on water, sanitation, hygiene, and health education projects.
  • You also have at least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a humanitarian context.
  • You have demonstrated strong proposal writing and donor reporting skills.
  • You have proven experience in financial management, including the preparation of budgets for programs.
  • You have experience working in security-volatile contexts.
  • You are fluent in English.

2.) Head of Food Security and Livelihood

Job Title: Head of Food Security and Livehood

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months

Mission

  • Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director, you will lead the development of the Food Security and Livehood (FSL) strategy in line with the country strategy to ensure the effective implementation of FSL programs within the mission.

More precisely, you will be responsible for the following missions:

  • Support the consolidation, development, and strengthening of AAH's strategic and technical leadership in Food Security and Livehood at the mission level.
  • Support needs assessments (including market assessments), Post-Distribution Monitoring, and other surveys primarily for humanitarian programs.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics and Finance departments in the design and review of humanitarian FSL projects.
  • Provide technical support and coordination for mission FSL projects.
  • Assist teams in identifying technical challenges, troubleshooting, and recommending credible and relevant solutions.
  • Oversee research, technical studies, and innovation related to FSL to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Ensure the quality of both internal and external reporting for FSL activities.
  • Actively participate in national sectoral coordination and technical forums.
  • Develop and maintain strategic sectoral partnerships.
  • Represent AAH in engagements with national and international FSL stakeholders, particularly in humanitarian areas.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, working groups (e.g., Cash Working Group and Food Security Sector Working Group), and clusters, ensuring that AAH's positions and protocols are well communicated.

Profile

  • You hold a master's degree in agronomy, environmental sciences, biology, or any other relevant discipline related to Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) and Emergency Response Programs for natural or conflict-related disasters.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the FSL sector within the field of humanitarian cooperation, particularly in challenging contexts.
  • You possess proven experience and expertise in managing large-scale FSL programs and demonstrate a strong understanding of humanitarian project cycle management, including donor reporting rules and compliance.
  • You have solid knowledge of humanitarian aid and development practices and excel in synthesizing, analyzing, and writing.
  • You are proactive, creative, and autonomous, capable of managing a significant workload and working effectively under pressure.
  • An experience with Action Against Hunger (AAH) would be highly desirable.
  • You are fluent in English.

3.) Janitor

Job Title: Janitor

Location: Sokoto
Employment Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean all windows, window grilles and entire frame.
  • Wipe and clean all surfaces (furniture, picture frames etc.).
  • Wash and mop all floor areas.
  • Clear garbage and empty dustbins.
  • Remove all stains on the wall and floors carefully without scratching surfaces, use appropriate reagents to remove all grease and stains.
  • Clean all kitchen cabinets and wardrobes; take very particular attention to hidden areas such as corners, crannies, inner end and sides of drawers.
  • Remove all cobwebs.
  • Wash all kitchen and bathroom tiles ( floors and walls).
  • Deep clean all bathtubs and sanitary fixtures (W.C., bidet and wash hand basins).
  • Clean all balcony railings and areas.
  • Clean all door handles and knobs, top of the door and body of the doors.
  • Deep clean fridges, and water dispensers, and microwaves.
  • Check and replenish cleaning supplies.
  • Support in management HR supplies.

Requirements

  • Senior Secondary School Certificate required.
  • 1 year or less experience in a similar role. Previous experience in office and guesthouse cleaning.
  • Ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel.
  • Commitment to renewing and maintaining knowledge of best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and Hausa.
  • Ability to communicate read and write effectively in English.
  • High sense of Integrity.
  • Good understanding of basic hygiene.
  • Experience working with INGOs.
