🇮🇪 Fully Funded Scholarship at ICARUS Climate Research Centre, Maynooth University
Maynooth University’s ICARUS Climate Research Centre is excited to offer a fully funded PhD scholarship for one exceptional student starting their studies in September 2025. This opportunity is part of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-funded project (2025–2029), focusing on event attribution of climatic extremes in Ireland.
Scholarship Overview
The successful candidate will join a pioneering research project analyzing the effects of human-induced climate change on Ireland’s historical climatic extremes. The project involves collaboration with leading experts, including Prof. Peter Thorne, researchers at ICARUS, and the World Weather Attribution (WWA) group at Imperial College London.

- Strong teamworking skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience handling climate datasets.
- Knowledge of meteorology in midlatitude regions.
- Prior media experience.
