FUTURE PLANNING (403B): We value your future. After a tenure of six months, CRS proposes a matching 50% on the initial 6% of contributions. Moreover, there’s an automatic contribution of 7% of the total pay. (Note: For those without a social security number, a similar offshore retirement plan is available.)

LIFELONG LEARNING: From day one, apprentices can dive into our expansive digital learning realm. For those with an educational endeavor, CRS commits to covering up to $5,200 annually, post a year’s service.

Join the Global Citizen Fellowship Journey, an initiative aimed at molding its Fellows with a curriculum tailored to arm them with the essentials.

This ensures their flourishing not only during their tenure at Global Citizen but in subsequent professional endeavors.

About the Program

For the academic year 2023/24, the fellowship will onboard 5 promising candidates. This immersive journey concludes in November 2024.

Who Can Apply?

  • Aged between 18-21 during application.
  • Minimal experience in traveling.
  • Annual family income less than R120,000.
  • Individuals from historically underserved backgrounds receive preference.
  • Should commit to living in Johannesburg.
  • Availability is a must from Monday to Friday.
  • Consistent physical presence is non-negotiable.

Perks of the Fellowship

Enrolling with Global Citizen will:

  1. Enhance both professional and personal facets by delving deep into intricate societal challenges, transforming Fellows into champions of transformative change.
  2. Engage the Fellows in a rich tapestry of both group and solo tasks aimed at personal enhancement, professional upskilling, advocacy, cultural immersion, and the principles of social justice and equity. This will be punctuated with collaborative dialogues and community-oriented tasks.

Steps to Enroll

Shoot an email to fellowship@globalcitizen.org containing:

  1. A video spanning 2-3 minutes or an essay within 500-700 words addressing:
    • How do you resonate as a globally aware individual?
    • As a Fellow, what enduring impact do you aim to effectuate?
    • Which socio-economic challenges have you pledged to address and what drives this passion?
  2. A testimonial from a mentor/professor, academic head, societal influencer, or a coworker. This should reflect on your enthusiasm, team spirit, and potential to spearhead change. Here are the guidelines for the recommendation letter.
