🌐 Earning 6 Figures From Your Couch: The Top Remote Jobs That Pay Over $100,000 a Year in 2023!

“Believe it or Not! Remote Jobs with a Six-Figure Paycheck are Not a Myth – Here’s What You Need to Know”

In an age where the cost of living seems to only skyrocket and demands for a more flexible work-life balance are at an all-time high, a well-paying remote job might seem like a dream come true.

And guess what? It’s no fantasy, as corroborated by the popular job-ratings platform, Glassdoor.

Rising Cost of Living and the Need for Higher Pay

The escalating expenses of daily life – ranging from food to housing – are compelling many Americans to scout for higher-paying jobs.

Meanwhile, with many companies calling back their employees to on-site work, the demand for fully remote jobs is shooting up.

If you’re in the market for remote roles with a salary in the six figures, there are indeed plenty of opportunities out there.

However, there’s a small caveat: these lucrative positions often call for advanced degrees in domains such as computer science or medicine, or years of on-the-ground experience.

The Search for High-Paying, Fully Remote Jobs

In a recent study, MarketWatch teamed up with Glassdoor, based in San Francisco, to highlight businesses that offer a median salary of over $100,000, with the potential for fully remote work.

The study specifically filtered out high-paying jobs that entail face-to-face interaction, such as C-suite positions.

One of the highest-paying remote roles identified by the study is that of a quantitative researcher, with an impressive median salary of $175,000 per annum.

Other high-paying positions included technology managers, technical program managers, and infrastructure architects, boasting median salaries in the $150,000 to $160,000 range.

What Makes These Jobs Worth Six Figures?

In a discussion with MarketWatch, Aaron Terrazas, chief economist at Glassdoor, explained that the educational level necessary for these jobs and their need for critical judgment, discretion, or personal risk could contribute to their high pay. Moreover, the job could be in a sought-after industry.

For individuals who don’t mind being office-bound full-time, roles such as chief revenue officer, physician advisor, anesthesiologist, and others could bring in a whopping $200,000 or more annually, as per Glassdoor’s findings.

Glassdoor’s Top Five High-Paying, Fully Remote Jobs

Below, we’ve highlighted five of Glassdoor’s top-paying jobs that offer full remote work possibilities:

  1. Quantitative Researcher
    • Salary: $175,000 per year
    • Job description: As per Zip Recruiter, a quantitative researcher conducts market studies, collects data, identifies trends, resolves problems, and develops strategic models to assist top-level managers in making financial decisions.
    • Educational requirements: Typically a degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, or a similar field.
  2. Technology Manager
    • Salary: $160,000 per year
    • Job description: A technology manager supervises other workers, manages tech projects, and troubleshoots hardware and software issues, according to Zip Recruiter.
    • Educational requirements: Typically a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, or a similar field.
  3. Technical Program Manager
    • Salary: $157,000 per year
    • Job description: As stated by Zip Recruiter, a technical program manager is akin to a technology manager and oversees the company’s technical projects, implements new systems, or even develops new products. The role might also involve supervising teams and delivering reports to higher-level staff.
    • Educational requirements: Typically a bachelor’s degree in business or management.
  4. Infrastructure Architect
    • Salary: $152,500 per year
    • Job description: As per Indeed, an infrastructure architect assesses a company’s computer system, identifies solutions to potential problems, reviews existing code for possible errors or improvements, and may also train others.
    • Educational requirements: Typically a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field.
  5. Database Architect
    • Salary: $150,000 per year
    • Job description: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, a database architect designs, builds, and maintains a company’s database, sets the standard for data operation, programming, and security.
    • Educational requirements: Typically a bachelor’s degree in computer and information technology, engineering, or a related field.

It should be noted that these aren’t the only six-figure remote jobs out there.

Roles such as creative director, patent attorney, and economist also fall in this bracket. However, it remains uncertain whether companies will continue to offer permanent remote work.

Before the pandemic, seasoned, experienced employees primarily occupied remote positions, adding value to the companies. The majority of other employees worked in-person.

Remote Work in the Post-COVID Era

Terrazas emphasizes that in this new, post-COVID world, a return to the office does not necessarily denote a choice between full-time in-person work or complete remote work.

He advocates recognizing that remote work lies on a spectrum, with hybrid options and part-time office work falling within its range.

Certain roles, such as those in law, might still require periodic in-person attendance, such as in a courtroom. Sales positions may occasionally necessitate face-to-face client meetings, but can be largely performed remotely.

Terrazas warns that the prevalence of remote work could fluctuate with market dynamics. According to him, “When the labor market tightens, we’ll see more and more companies being open and offering remote work as a sweetener to attract talent.”

💻 How to Stay Productive and Motivated When Working from Home: Tips and Tricks from Successful Remote Workers

Introduction

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many people to work from home, which has its advantages and disadvantages.

While remote work can provide flexibility and a better work-life balance, it can be challenging to stay focused and motivated, especially if you are used to working in an office environment.

In this post, we will explore some tips and tricks from successful remote workers on how to stay productive and motivated when working from home.

1.) Create a Routine

Creating a routine is crucial when working from home.

Without the structure of an office environment, it’s easy to lose track of time and become unproductive.

Start your day at the same time every day, and try to stick to a schedule.

Set boundaries between work and personal time and avoid working outside of your set hours.

A routine can help you get into a work mindset and make it easier to stay motivated.

2.) Set up a Workspace

Create a designated workspace in your home where you can focus on work.

It could be a separate room, a corner of your living room, or even a standing desk.

Make sure your workspace is comfortable, well-lit, and has minimal distractions.

Having a dedicated workspace can help you mentally separate work from personal life and make it easier to stay focused.

3.) Take Breaks

Taking regular breaks can help you stay focused and refreshed. Set a timer for every 25-30 minutes, and take a five-minute break to stretch or walk around.

Taking breaks can help you avoid burnout and improve your productivity.

Additionally, taking breaks can help you avoid sitting for long periods, which has been linked to health problems.

4.) Stay Connected with Colleagues

Working remotely can be isolating, so it’s important to stay in touch with your colleagues.

Schedule regular virtual meetings and check-ins to discuss your work and catch up on personal news.

Staying connected can help you feel more engaged with your work and keep you motivated.

5.) Set Goals

Setting goals can help you stay motivated and maintain your focus

Create daily, weekly, and monthly targets to keep yourself on track.

Celebrate your achievements, no matter how minute, and use them as motivation to keep going.

Goals can help you measure progress and create a sense of purpose.

6.) Practice Self-Care

Self-care is essential when working from home. Take care of your physical and mental health by eating well, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep.

It’s also important to take care of your emotional well-being by taking breaks, practicing mindfulness, and doing activities you enjoy.

Taking care of yourself can help you feel rejuvenated.

7.) Use Technology to Your Advantage

There are many tools and apps available to help remote workers stay productive and motivated.

Use tools like Asana or Trello to manage your tasks and deadlines.

Use communication apps like Slack or Microsoft Teams to stay connected with your colleagues.

If you need help staying focused, try using apps like Focus@Will or Brain.fm to block out distractions and improve your concentration.

8.) Embrace Flexibility

One of the benefits of remote work is flexibility.

Embrace the flexibility that comes with working from home by creating a schedule that works for you.

Take breaks when you need them, work during your most productive hours, and adjust your schedule as needed.

Flexibility can help you avoid burnout and increase your overall job satisfaction.

Conclusion

Working from home can be a challenge, but with the right mindset and tools, it can be a rewarding experience.

Creating a routine, setting up a workspace, taking breaks, staying connected with colleagues, setting goals, practicing self-care, using technology to your advantage and embracing flexibility are all key to staying productive and motivated when working remotely.

By implementing these tips and tricks, you can create a successful remote work experience that works for you.

Remember, everyone’s experience with remote work is unique, and it may take some time to find the routine and strategies that work best for you.

Be patient, try different methods, and don’t be afraid to ask for help or guidance from your colleagues or supervisor.

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Recruitment Update: CDCFIB Approves Final List of NSCDC Applicants for Employment

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has shortlisted 5,000 successful candidates for employment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. Mrs Aisha Rufai, Secretary of the board made the announcement during a press briefing on Thursday at the Civil Defence headquarters in Abuja.

Mrs Rufai said that the board had approved the final phase of the 2019 recruitment exercise, thereby directed all prospective applicants to check the application portal.

She directed screened applicants to visit; http://cdfipb.careers from January 17, 2022 to check for further information as it would only be accessible by successful candidates.

The Secretary however noted that the portal wouldn’t be open to candidates who had not been successfully shortlisted.

“Applicants should check for their names, documentation location, guidelines for documentation exercise and print out their invitation slip without which they will not be allowed to participate in the exercise,” she said.

She said that the documentation exercise is to commence from Jan.31,2022 and is free.

NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed AbubakarAudi, who stated that the recruitment was specifically for 2019 applicants, said that after the documentation process, all successful candidates will be invited for training.

Audi said that a total of 1,477,042 applicants applied in 2019 but had to scale down to 746,762 when some applicants did not meet up with the requirements specified in the job publication. “A total of 217,000 candidates successfully uploaded their certificates and were shortlisted for the Computer Based Assessment Test.

“Out of 113,105 candidates shortlisted, 53,116 sat for the CBT in December, 2020 across the country and 6,500 were shortlisted for further screening,” he said.

According to the CG, the recruitment exercised lingered until 2022 due to the emergence of Covid-19 and the need for proper vetting of candidates.

“Recruitment is a process and it is not easy to vet over one million (1,000,000) people as vetting is very fundamental to the process and takes a longer time. “The vetting was environmental, institutional, and family based,” he said.
