🇺🇸 Call to Apply: Global Sustainability Scholars Fellows Program 2024 ($8,000)

The call for participation in the 2024 cohort of the Global Sustainability Scholars (GSS) Fellows Program is now open. This unique opportunity encompasses a paid, 10-week program that pairs scholars with leading organizations dedicated to global sustainability efforts.

As a GSS Fellow, individuals will engage in immersive training, gain hands-on experience within sustainability science, and receive mentorship from professionals in the field.

Annually, the GSS program selects 5 to 10 emerging scholars to become part of its vibrant community. This initiative not only imparts advanced professional development but also nurtures connections that pave the way for future employment or academic ventures.

The 2024 fellowship focus is on organizations promoting oceanic sustainability, including collaboration with initiatives like those spearheaded by the Belmont Forum or Future Earth.



2024 Fellows Initiative

Each year, the GSS program collaborates with diverse global entities that spearhead research and implement solutions in sustainability.

For the 2024 iteration, the spotlight is on Ocean Sustainability, in partnership with Belmont Forum-supported research.

Fellows will integrate with these impactful projects for a duration of 10 weeks, contributing to vital sustainability endeavors.

Program Advantages

Participants will receive a stipend of $8,000, acknowledging their complete involvement in the program. Additionally, the GSS Program facilitates round-trip economy airfare and arranges accommodations which might range from program houses to other lodgings.

Prospective fellows should be ready for shared living situations, as accommodations vary by location and may involve shared occupancy.

Fellowship Criteria

Eligible candidates for the GSS Fellowship should have earned an undergraduate degree within the last four years or be actively enrolled in a graduate program.

A clear passion for pursuing global sustainability solutions is a must. Applicants should be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with all necessary documentation for international travel (such as a valid passport) by March 2024.
